Government Shutdown Avoided: We Are Indebted!

Whew!! Just in the nick of time, Congress, led by a ‘compromise’ between the intrepid John Boehner and Obama-ite radicals have again saved the nation by averting a devastating government shutdown. They have courageously raised the debt ceiling, insuring that no special interest group will go unrewarded, no boondoggle unfunded, and no reduction in the rate of increase in spending will hamstring any federal agency, except for the Department of Defense, of course. We’ve heard, time and again, how vital it is that we reach bipartisan agreement so the government will not be shuttered and crucial programs will continue to be 100% (or more) funded.

Way to think outside of the box, guys! We are just $18+ trillion in debt right now. And the debt ceiling has only been raised in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2008 (again), 2008 (again, no kidding), 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and now in November of 2015. This time, though, is different, this time is the charm! This is huge! We’re on the right track now, ladies and gentleman. As long as we don’t risk shutting down the government that vacuums up all of this money from us, we should be fine!
