Philadelphia Imposes Tax On Soda

The city of Philadelphia tried to sugar-coat it, but the first big-city soda tax in the country is not sitting well with the town’s residents. Philadelphians are not happy with the 1.5 cent per ounce tax which can add up to several dollars on even single purchases of packs and larger bottles.
David McCorkle, CEO of the Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association, said: “The magnitude of this tax is historic and Philadelphian consumers can’t afford it.” In a photo that went viral after being posted on Facebook, a receipt shows over $3 in tax added to the cost of a $5.99 12-pack of Propel. The tax applies not only to sodas, but also to energy drinks (such as Propel), zero-calorie diet beverages, juice, and even milk substitutes for those who are lactose intolerant.
Jim Kenney, Philadelphia’s Mayor, originally proposed the tax last March; it passed the City Council 13-4. The levy, which took effect January 1st, is intended to be used to fund things such as libraries, parks and recreation centers, and the city’s pre-K programs. Kenney spokesperson Mike Dunn, not giving it to the citizens straight, told FoxNews.com that it isn’t technically a sales tax. He said: “The Philadelphia Beverage Tax is a tax on the distribution of sweetened beverages intended for retail; it is not a sales tax to be paid by the consumer and collected by the retailer.” This absurdity is typical of government bureaucrats who have no understanding of basic economics. When you set the rules and don’t have to play by them, you end up acting like a parasite, not a host.
The mayor’s office further illustrated its ignorance and condescension by stating that dealers and distributors could choose whether to increase prices: “Since it is not a sales tax, distributors…do not have to pass it down to their customers, the dealers. They could choose to slightly lessen their seven-figure bonuses, for example.” The distributors have to pay the tax, contributing to the overall cost of providing the product, which then largely determines the price of the product, dumb-asses. Those arbitrarily taxed could choose to make less margin then those not charged with (directly) paying it, but that would make them more likely to cut pay, eliminate jobs, or go out of business, thus reducing the tax base. Funny, those in public office, elected or otherwise, never seem to want to reduce their yearly compensation, or their retirement packages. And they don’t make things, they take them.
Both the real reason(s) for- and the ultimate result of- this tax are too obvious to require elaboration to anyone who is familiar with bureaucrats and economics. The mayor’s office itself proudly states that it has established a “Healthy Beverages Tax Credit” to help smaller stores that may see a downturn in their sales because of the new tax. This credit will be gallantly offered to “qualifying merchants who increase their inventory of healthy beverages.” How sweet.
So, even though the City of Brotherly Love’s leaders don’t think the tax should have any effect on retailers or consumers, they are offering tax credits to those retailers who stock healthier drinks? Both the tax credits and retailers carrying a higher percentage of healthier beverages (not subject to this tax) would decrease the amount of tax revenue the city fathers and mothers claim is so desperately needed. Truth-be-told, they really want to control people’s lives and dictate what they can and can’t do…and drink. Many in government crave this power for its own sake (maybe it’s like a “sugar high” to them), others truly believe they know what’s best for everybody else, too.
Of course, the end result of this tax will be that the city’s rascally and intransigent consumers will go elsewhere to shop. And, when they are shopping in nearby towns unaffected by this tax, they won’t just buy soda. The city of Philadelphia may see sales declines in areas other than soft drinks. And that may be a bitter pill to swallow.

Well, you know what they say: “A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.”

Democrats Now Proud Obstructionists

Democrats have decided on their “strategy” for dealing with President Trump: dig in, resist and obstruct, while mocking and embarrassing him at every opportunity. After many meetings and countless conversations, top party officials have determined that an unyielding, hard-line, in-your-face obstructionism is the only way to placate a party base rabid with rage.
The Democratic Party held a conference recently to consider who should be the next Chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). New Hampshire party chairman Raymond Buckley, attending the soirĂ©e, was asked if Democrats should try to work with the President, at least where it could find opportunities to do so. He responded: “That’s a question that’s absolutely ridiculous.”
Washington Governor Jay Inslee added: “They were entitled to a grace period and they blew it. It’s been worse than I could have imagined, the first few days. They were entitled to a grace period, but it was midnight the night of the inauguration to eight o’clock the next morning, when the administration sent out people to lie about numerous significant things. And the damage to the credibility of the presidency has already been profound.”
Translation: “He didn’t do what we wanted him to do.” And he has the gall to accuse Trump of doing damage to the presidency after Barrack Obama’s reign?! Say what you will about the President, but he doesn’t hate his own country. In fact, he is courageously attempting to repair some of the damage to the country that his predecessor intentionally inflicted.
Democratic leaders seem to believe that the vast numbers of people who took to the streets in anti-Trump rallies inaugural weekend illustrate an opportunity for the erstwhile DFL to become a full-fledged resistance party, steadfastly opposing nearly everything the President is trying to do and grinding government to a halt.
Of course, Democrats believe they have every right to do this, even though they have routinely gone ballistic in the past when they believed Republicans weren’t acquiescing quickly enough to every whim and directive they put forward when they held power. They claim this right to an oppose-at-all-costs stratagem now in part because they consider Trump a “norm-violating” and “deeply polarizing” figure.
But, when you wish to harness the power of the Mongol Hordes, you should be aware that things can get messy. In the past, Republicans have made a habit of compromising and surrendering at the first sign of conflict. However, it’s just possible those now threatened with such an onslaught may feel they have to fight back and press on or see their ideals and their country perish forever.
                They would be right.
Despite their own aggressive bluster, some Democrats seem a little uncertain of how to interact with Trump, who many feel is uniquely mercurial.
Former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said of Trump: “We’ve never seen anything like him. This isn’t ideological. He’s taken this to places we’ve never been. He’s said things we’ve never heard from a commander in chief.”

                Someone sounds…jealous.

Trump's Torrid Start

Has any other president in history had a more dramatically effective (if controversial) start than Donald Trump has? I doubt it. In office for just over a week, he has already acted on most of his major campaign promises! He signed legislation authorizing construction of a wall on the Mexican border, is putting a temporary, targeted moratorium on immigration, has pumped-up American businesses, many of whom are talking about expanding inside of the U.S., has put Churchill’s bust back in the Oval Office, helped improve the country’s relations with important allies like Britain and Israel, given new life to the Keystone pipeline (and possibly to new life itself, as in unborn babies)…and, by-the-way, the stock market has gained over $2 trillion since he was elected- and ended last week at an all-time record high. Whew.

What’s on tap for next week, Mr. President?

Politicians just don’t act like that, do they? No they don’t, but therein lies the key: Trump is not a politician and never was. Over time many Americans forgot that the country was supposed to have a limited, citizen-government, not a massive government run by oleaginous career politicians essentially unaccountable for their grievous overreach.
Obviously the President can’t sustain this blistering pace, and there will be ever-increasing pressure on him from establishment Republicans (also known as “blockheads”) to slow down and be more willing to yield to his opponents. (They are already in full-fledged panic mode over the possible repeal of the ludicrously named “Affordable Care Act.” Talk about ‘alternative facts’ and Orwellian speech). They will do this because they are afraid to lose their own grip on power and also don’t wish to be exposed as having been mostly useless and ineffective during their terms.
One thing- and one thing only- is certain. Do not doubt me on this one: leftists and their media will continue to ramp up their rabid and unhinged attacks, desperate to do anything to discredit Trump or remove him from office. Leftists do not tolerate opposing ideas and actions and they know that if time goes by and his policies prove effective, they will be shown to be who they are: hypocritical, fear-mongering losers who intensely dislike the country as founded, and believe only that truth is a lie.
Already I have seen some jaw-dropping distortions and massively misleading reporting from some of the biggest news outlets in the nation. Not to mention a few complete fabrications and outright lies thrown in for good measure. If internet software was really effective, you would get a pop-up message when attempting to access most of the major newspaper’s online sites stating, “Known fraudulent site, we advise you not to enter.”
Can President Trump stay strong, weather the unrelenting leftist storm, and come out the other side four- or even eight- years from now bloodied but unbowed?
The signs are good so far… but, sadly, I doubt it. The left owns the media and academia, lock, stock and barrel. Therefore leftists control the flow and presentation of information. This is true not only of the old, mainstream media, but certainly also of the newer social media giants in Silicon Valley. Moreover, the percentage of colleges and universities not completely given over to progressive ideas is literally too small to be measured.
Additionally, the left is comprised of various special-interest groups: Socialists-Marxists, anarchists, Satanists, LGBTQIA radicals, and raging “pro-choice feminists” among them. All of these groups, with the possible exception of the latter one, are growing.

And all of them will blow up the country if that’s what it takes to get their way.

Civic Minded?

Many American adults possess little to no real knowledge of American history or government, though this doesn’t stop them from voting. What’s even more disturbing, though sadly not surprising, a series of surveys of adult Americans, taken from 2008 to 2011, found that college graduates generally knew less than the average American about basic government functions. Those surveyed took a “test” on the subject, and the average citizen surveyed failed, whether or not they had a college degree. According to thefederalist.com, one of these reports concluded, “[W]hile college adds little to civic knowledge, it does seem to encourage graduates to identify more strongly with the Democrat and Liberal ends of the political spectrum.” Yes. If it did add to civic knowledge, it would have the opposite effect.
Who could balk at $40,000 a-year tuition rates when colleges are routinely turning out shiny, new, perfectly-minted idiots? Some of the young ignoramuses arrive on campus predisposed to be intolerant of reason, but many of these entitled, infantilized, morons were programmed by their schools to blame society, white people and the profit motive for the world’s problems, and so don’t realize that the schools themselves are partly culpable. They are akin to the television show Westworld’s “performers,” with the difference being that their schools are programming/using them for their own amusement, not customers, and to advance their own deviant political agendas.
Another entertainment (if not entertaining) analogy: the horror movie titled “The Invasion of the Body Snatchers” first came out in 1956. In it aliens took possession of people’s bodies and their minds. Universities today are only taking possession of their student’s minds, but it is no less frightening…actually more terrifying...as it is real.
The National Association of Scholars, of which I am a member (full disclosure!), has produced a 525-page report purporting to show that U.S. civics education- to the extent it even exists- has been captured, usurped and transformed into a purely ideological mechanism to promote left-wing causes, undermine traditional values, and incite civil unrest.
The report concludes: “[T]he content of civics education is the content of our children’s minds, and a progressive takeover of the colleges will end up as a progressive takeover of the country. We have been warned.” The NAS report claims that the “New Civics” replaces traditional civics with community organizing as its primary goal and focus, and teaches students to agitate for bigger government to redress grievances.
Because most students are totally ignorant of basic, foundational truths, they have few- if any- defenses against this onslaught of flagitious flummery.

Democrats Attempt To Learn How To Talk To Real People

You know your political party is in rough shape when it has to “hold lessons in how to talk to real people,” which is precisely how the Politico headline read. Ten Senate Democrats will be up for reelection next year in states that Trump won, and party bigwigs are attempting to rally the troops by congregating in Sheperdstown, West Virginia, to ponder how to make those Trump voters blue again. To that end, Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) was scheduled to moderate a “discussion with Trump voters.”
In the spirit of bipartisanship, I am hereby “reaching across the aisle” as it were, and offering them this tip: when you are campaigning in, say, West Virginia or Kentucky, don’t tell them that you want to close all their mines and eliminate their jobs.

                You’re welcome.

Also, don’t get caught in an email or on any social media platform, etc., ridiculing them and allowing as to how you “hate them.” (That was a bonus tip).
I can almost see the Democrats leaving their hotel at some point and going out on little field trips in an attempt to converse with the locals.

Diane Feinstein: “Thank you for having us out to your home. What is your name?”
Local man: “You’re welcome, ma’am…and you can call me Mike.”
Sen. Feinstein: “That is such a cute little…um…is it a playhouse or a guest’s quarters, or do you use it for your pets?”
Mike: “That is my family’s house, ma’am.”
Sen. Feinstein: “Oh, and what is that shelter just to the right of it, then?”
Mike: “That’s a garage and tool shed ma’am.”
Sen. Feinstein: “And what do you put in there?”
Mike: “Our car, lawn mower and tools, ma’am.”
Sen. Feinstein: “Excuse me, Michael, but what is a ‘lawn mower’?”

The politico.com post also stated that, on Wednesday evening, Senator Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) hosted “a wine and cheese reception, then Democrats went to a presentation about Harper’s Ferry,” at which no reporters were allowed to attend.
Back to the drawing board donkeys, back to the drawing board.

Some Schools Refused To Let Students Watch Inauguration

Students at various schools around the Fruited Plain were not allowed to watch the inauguration of (then) President-elect Donald Trump. According to Fox News, the principal of one such bastion of learning, Independence High School in Tennessee, told a student’s parent that “news happens every day in this country” and that they wouldn’t be “stopping class to watch the news.” Well, then. The student herself found that odd though, considering the fact that they watched the last two presidential inaugurations in the school.
Meanwhile, fourth grade students at Explorer Elementary School in Michigan were also prevented from experiencing the Big Event, due to a teacher’s concern over “Mr. Trump’s casual use of profanity.” The teacher stated that he would not want to expose the kids to language that “would not appear in G or PG-rated movies.”
What the hell does he think Trump was going to say at his swearing-in or in his inaugural address?
Justice Roberts: “Do you solemnly swear that you will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States…?”
President-elect Trump: “F**kin’ right, I do!”
Were we ever seriously in danger of Trump tweaking the 35 words from Article II, Section I, of the Constitution? Is it humanly possible to ad-lib them?
“I do solemnly swear- giggle- that I will f**&%! faithfully execute the office of President of the United States and will to the best of my bleepin’ ability, preserve, protect and defend the m***erf---$#g Constitution of the United States.” Now that would really be an oath of office!
No, the actual reason that these “educators” prevented their students from watching the inauguration is because their candidate lost. And because they could.
Of course, when their candidate wins, they tell the loser “So sorry! Just deal with it!” What would they have said if Hillary had won, and some schools/teachers didn’t let their charges watch her inauguration? I think we all know the answer to that question. They would’ve cried “sexism!” and “intolerance” and branded those responsible as “misogynists,” and “history haters.”

Women's March: Scarlett Johansson And Basic Healthcare

Actress Scarlett Johansson took the stage at the terminus of the “Women’s March on Washington” Saturday and spoke out on behalf of “women’s reproductive health issues.” The actress/singer/model/activist, who will be starring in the upcoming film, “Rock That Body,” revealed that she first visited a Planned Parenthood clinic at the tender age of 15. She said that she sought its services while she was living on the opposite end of the country from her mother, and noticed a change in her body. A change?
She said there was, “No judgement, no questions asked.” Much like a trained assassin. On second thought, a trained assassin might not take a job if his or her target was innocent. She continued: “Planned Parenthood provided a safe place where I could be treated with gentle guidance.” Unlike your baby.
More from Scarlett: “I’m sure there isn’t one person here who hasn’t been helped by Planned Parenthood, directly or otherwise.”  Emphasis on “here” Scarlett! There are countless millions who couldn’t be here- or anywhere else for that matter- because someone took that right away from them. You know, the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? If you deprive someone of the former, you deprive them of the latter two by default, wiping out the very reasons for the founding of America…along with the baby.
But Ms. Johansson was on a roll: “There are very real and devastating consequences to limiting access to what should be considered basic healthcare.” There certainly are very real and devastating consequences to those aborted at the clinics.  And basic healthcare? That’s eating right, exercising and taking a multi-vitamin, not shredding a “fetus.”

Rock that body, girl. Rock that body.

Women March On Washington, Heading Towards Gomorrah

Speaking to the countless hordes of pussy-hatted women that descended on Washington, D.C. for an anti-Trump rally Saturday, Madonna said: "I have been thinking an awful lot lately about blowing up the White House." This was after she repeatedly exclaimed, "f**k you!" to anyone who might disagree with her/them. Naturally,  the aging trollop then referenced "the poet W.H. Auden," stating that, on the eve of World War II, he proclaimed: "We must love one another or die."

Alrighty then. No sudden movements.

Preposterous juxtaposition aside, the most striking thing about these insane rantings was the fact that the mainstream media essentially ignored them. If Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, or  Dinesh D'Souza had stated that they  "had been thinking an awful lot lately about blowing up the White House" they'd be sporting manacles whilst hanging upside down in the bowels of a dank prison on the outskirts of nowhereville. The media would be giving the terroristic threats round-the-clock coverage and calling in experts to talk about the psychosis of hate permeating the radical right. Entirely new stations would be placed on the air, soley dedicated to showing the unhinged hate-monger uttering the phrase via a continuous loop 24/7/365.

The consequences for Madonna? Nothing. Nada. She's given a free pass, the media looking the other way, whistling loudly and occasionally saying, "Nothing to see here. Move along please."

Would that were truly the case. Unfortunately, the entire "Women's March" was a pathetic embarrassment to their gender. An estrogen-fueled emoji-fest of childishly entitled emoting. Worse yet, the list of causes, in support of which they were rallying, would've made a Marxist blush.

Leftists characterized Trump's inaugural speech as "dark" and "stark." They said he made things seem more dire than they are. Yet those at the march said that under Trump they felt we were "going back into the Dark Ages." That's kinda stark and dark, no? What's darker than the Dark Ages? (Speaking of the Dark Ages, one of the things the gals were marching to support was immigrant rights. By which they mean llegal immigrant rights, because what has done more for the women's movement then Islam and Sharia Law? Just look at Europe this past year!).

Actress and activist America Ferrera lectured the crowd via this social studies lesson: "It's been a heart-rending time to be both a woman and an immigrant in this country. But the president is not America. His cabinet is not America. Congress is not America. I, however, actually am America!!"

Okay, I made the last line up. She actually finished by saying: "We are America! And we are here to stay." (I like my version better. Plus I believe it's more indicative of her true feelings).

These people hate traditional values. They also hate Trump. So does the media. They no longer even try to hide it, yet claim to be objective anyway. Then they feign shock when Trump accuses them of being dishonest.

They are every bit as crooked as Hillary. And more dangerous.

A final note: doesn't anybody else find it odd that these women are so traumatized by Trump talking about aggressively touching a female body part, yet are fiercely proud of the entire panoply of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender behavior? And, really, does it help make your case when you come dressed as a vagina?

If Trump's comment made 600,000 folks march on Washington, D.C., and another half a million or so around the world take to the streets, why didn't the majority of the women on the bleeping planet march in denunciation of Bill Clinton? Sheer hypocrisy- or because of differences in their policies? Or something darker? In any case, what does that say about these marchers?

California Church Won't Pray For "Donald Trump"

Mike Kinman, rector of All Saints Church in Pasadena, California, announced via a blog post to his congregation that parishioners at the Episcopal edifice will no longer pray by name for the president of the United States. Rector Kinman, you see, fears that the mere mention of the name “Donald Trump” could trigger microaggressions among the faithful.
He wrote: “If you come to All Saints this Sunday, you’ll notice that we have removed the proper names from our prayers for those in authority. Whereas before we prayed for ‘Barack, our president,’ we are now praying for ‘our president, our president-elect, and all others in authority.’ This practice will continue for at least the near future.” Yes, until Democrats retake the Oval Office.
Kinman continued pontificating, albeit using remarkably bad grammar: “We are in a unique situation in my lifetime where we have a president-elect whose name is literally a trauma trigger to some people—particularly women and people who, because of his words and actions, he represents an active danger to health and safety.”
Then the Irreverent One likened Trump to a wife-beater: “As I have said before, for some it could be as if we demanded a battered woman pray for her abuser by name.” Hmm.

Funny, I’m guessing rector Kinman had no problem praying for ‘Bill, our president.’

Words and actions, Mike. Words and actions.

Fake News

                Fake news.

Progressives have suddenly become obsessed with it. In truth, they essentially invented it. In light of this, and this sites content, I wanted to- unbidden- openly address this newly trending topic.
Here is the truth: this is not a fake news site. Indeed, it obviously isn’t a standard news site at all. That being said, insofar as I address current events and history, I take great pains to vet the story, to make certain of the facts before I opine on them. I do opine on them, however, and sometimes attempt to make them amusing. Unlike the mainstream media, in too many cases the real purveyors of “fake news,” I make that clear. Whether or not any of you readers believe I have a responsibility to be precise, accurate and truthful…I myself  believe that I have that responsibility. I take my task seriously, but not myself. I hope it shows.
I sometimes spend more time researching and proofing the information, off of which I base many posts, than I do actually writing those posts. I don’t believe readers will find many sites with more accurate and “non-fake” information than this one. Moreover, there certainly are very few misspelled words, glaring grammatical errors, punctuation faux-pas, missing words and the like, compared to most other sites. (I know, because I’ve examined hundreds of those sites). That is because I still “handcraft” my posts. As I have frequently referenced, current events seemingly have become more and more absurd with each passing year, leaving many of us to ask- or scream- what is going on??!! That is one reason it has become much more difficult to discern ‘real’ from ‘fake’ news.
In light of this, it should be noted that I do post some parody pieces. By definition, that means I am not depicting real events in those pieces. They are a flight of fancy, so to speak. However, my parody posts shouldn’t call into question this sites believability, rather they are a separate entity and an attempt to- as Rush Limbaugh so well stated- illustrate absurdity by being absurd. Parody is constitutionally protected, and, if done well, one of the best ways to make one’s point. The title of this site makes clear that I occasionally post parody. It should be abundantly obvious which posts are- and are not- parody. Good- and effective- parody is much harder to write than a simple take on straight news. I however, always leave “tells,” though I fervently hope that wouldn’t be necessary. One clue that a piece is a parody article is that I might post date it and call it a “transcript.” If it is January 21,  2017, and you are reading a “transcript” from/dated January 28, 2017, well…that’s just not possible.
In a sense, this site was conceived and dedicated to combating “fake news.” That is the animating factor in my life. I don’t like deceivers…or bullies…those that can’t win an argument and so want to take away others right to free speech. That is the truth.
While anyone of any ideological bent can traffic in fake news, be aware that those with a particularly progressive bent often label almost anything they don’t agree with as ‘fake,’ or ‘politically incorrect.’
On this site, I fervently hope that you may occasionally gain some insight that will help you in deciding for yourself what is- and isn’t- true. I read, digest, and report on leftist’s posts, sites, beliefs, and actions so that you don’t have to (if you don’t wish to), yet can still stay abreast of the looniness.
I thank each one of you for reading my posts. It is exhilarating when you realize that the truth…and only the truth…really will set you free. Yes, it can be harder than it should be today to pick the truth out of the cascading torrent of effluvium washing over us, but it does have a certain look and feel.
In summation, the left labels as “fake news” whatever doesn’t support its agenda. Period. For it, there is no other determining factor. Veracity doesn’t matter. Moreover, since most of the left’s beliefs have proven to be ineffective, dangerous or counterproductive throughout history, it is, ironically, most often the truth that it attempts to smear as “fake news,” while often holding up falsehoods and distortions as “real news.”
(Hence, you get Dan Rather soberly reporting on an obviously counterfeit memo pertaining to George W. Bush’s service record. You get the Washington Post recently having to retract story after story. You get Brian Williams falsely recalling- on air- how he was in a helicopter that was forced to land after getting battered by RPGs and machine-gun fire. You get Buzzfeed and CNN breathlessly treating a completely unsubstantiated- not to mention fabricated- dossier on President-elect Trump as if it were anything but horse-hockey, etc., etc.).

Devaluation Of Life Continues Apace

The devaluation of life continues apace. Whether it’s Islamic extremists, Planned Parenthood, LGBTQ radicals, or the “Right to Die Movement,” traditional notions of the value of life are under sustained attack.
And now this: last October, terminally ill California mother Stephanie Packer revealed that her insurance company denied her coverage for a drug that could extend her life, yet simultaneously disclosed that her suicide drugs were covered. And with only a $1.20 co-pay! Makes it a lot easier to rest in peace! Permanently.

This is what “progressivism” has wrought.

Prevention of life is publicly funded (birth control and abortifacients), as is the taking of life via abortion and suicide drugs, but the extension of life is not.
Reason, like life, is under assault by the “tolerant.”
It is a national disgrace that the country’s leading abortion “provider”- and one that apparently dabbles in trafficking baby parts, at that- can call itself “Planned Parenthood” and get away with it. That is akin to a WWII-era German concentration camp touting its “Structured Jewish Population Management.”

There is a "Women's March on Washington" scheduled to take place tomorrow, January 21st, to protest Trump's perceived civil rights views, and, in part, to promote issues important to the "LGBTQIA" community. Whatever the hell that is. I got lost after LGBT. Oddly, one group of women- a feminist group at that- has been banned from the historic trek. Because they are pro-life. I mean, tolerance only goes so far, right?

On this inauguration night, let us pray that reason- as well as the nation- may experience a rebirth. It is time to make America safe again for the legitimately dependent and truly helpless. Unborn babies.

It is time to abort this publicly-funded holocaust.

Trump And The Full-Court Press

“As for what is not true, you will always find abundance in the newspapers.”—Thomas Jefferson to Barnabas Bidwell, 1806.

Tragically, today we could substitute (the entire) “mainstream media” for “newspapers” in the above quote. The network newscasts along with CNN, MSNBC and nearly all big city newspapers have completely taken sides. It couldn’t be clearer. When Democrats, particularly liberal ones, are in power, the media love the establishment and emphasize (or manufacture) any good news. When Republicans are in power, particularly conservative ones, they stress any bad news they can find, as well as their own importance in holding the powerful’s feet to the fire, speaking truth to power, speaking up for the downtrodden, etc., etc., ad nauseum.
Never before has their hypocrisy reached this level of insanity. CNN and the Washington Post, for instance, have failed to vet stories that are demonstrably untrue. Made up. Constructed out of whole cloth.
And now we have CNN giving over extensive broadcast time to speculation about who’s in line for succession if Trump should be assassinated before he is sworn in.  This is in conjunction with their almost gleeful reporting on how many protesters will be in Washington, D.C. attempting to threaten, intimidate and overwhelm Trump’s supporters, as well as those simply there to witness history.
This is in stark contrast to the prior two inaugurals. The press breathlessly fawned over Obama and made remarks such as “there he is now, at this historic moment, about to be sworn in, along with all of our dreams for hope and change.” Can anyone imagine the media openly speculating about the assassination of Barack Obama in the hours leading up to his immaculation(s)? “Bob, if Obama were to be assassinated before he takes office (obviously by some crazy, gun-besotted right-wing extremist), could a member of the Bush administration be in line to succeed him?”
Can you imagine if Fox News had run stories speculating about Obama’s pre-inaugural demise? Or Rush Limbaugh talked at length about it? They would have been boycotted and subjected to all kinds of vile social-media threats…at the bare minimum. There would have been even more talk about permanently forcing them off of the air.

Thomas Jefferson had a great deal to say about freedom of speech, the press, its importance and abuses. Here are a few more of his thoughts, with my comments after each:

“The force of public opinion cannot be resisted when permitted freely to be expressed. The agitation it produces must be submitted to. It is necessary, to keep the waters pure." --Thomas Jefferson to Lafayette, 1823. (Political correctness is rapidly robbing us of our ability to freely express ourselves).
"The functionaries of every government have propensities to command at will the liberty and property of their constituents. There is no safe deposit for these but with the people themselves, nor can they be safe with them without information. Thomas Jefferson to Charles Yancey, 1816. (The mainstream media is, without question, now engaged in coloring, altering and hiding information they believe is contrary to their own interests and opinions, while openly aiding those who share them).
“ [A despotic] government always [keeps] a kind of standing army of newswriters who, without any regard to truth or to what should be like truth, [invent] and put into the papers whatever might serve the ministers. This suffices with the mass of the people who have no means of distinguishing the false from the true paragraphs of a newspaper." --Thomas Jefferson to G. K. van Hogendorp, Oct. 13, 1785. (Exactly. This is why the “old media” tries to belittle and place shackles on the internet, talk radio, etc.).
"To preserve the freedom of the human mind... and freedom of the press, every spirit should be ready to devote itself to martyrdom; for as long as we may think as we will and speak as we think, the condition of man will proceed in improvement." Thomas Jefferson to William Green Munford, 1799. (Just so. If you are conservative, ask yourself if you- and those that represent you- can always truly think as you will and speak as you think. You certainly can’t on college campuses these days).

If you examine these quotes, you will realize why Trump won. He gave voice to the muzzled.

Trump: The First 100 Days

One of the first things President-elect Trump should do in his initial 100 days in office is cut the budget of 100 federal agencies by 10%. In his next 100 days, he should think about completely dispensing with many more. He won't, but he should.
Draconian, you say? We can’t possibly do that without taking food out of the mouths of children and throwing grandma off the cliff- just for starters- right? Wrong.
Incredibly, no one even truly knows how many federal agencies are actually in existence. Something called the ‘Administrative Conference of the United States’ (is that a governmental agency?) says there are 115 of them. The Federal Register Index avers there are 257 such groups. Yet the United States Government Manual (sounds authoritative) claims that 316 of these indispensable bodies spend our money and tell us what we can and can’t do. The Federal Register indicates there are over 430 departments, agencies, and sub-agencies in the federal government.
Here is just a tiny sample of the absolutely vital programs these august bodies are funding:

*The National Science Foundation has utilized $1.5 million in grant money to test what happens when fish use treadmills. Yes, a ‘mudskipper,’ a species able to live out of water longer than most, was put on a tiny treadmill and its actions scrutinized. In a related experiment, bluegills were sent through ‘treadmill-like swim tunnels.’
*The Environmental Protection Agency spent nearly $37,000 to create a version of the Berkshire region of Massachusetts for the ‘Minecraft’ video game. Funding attempts to make virtual worlds in video games appear more real would logically seem to be a core function of the EPA, would it not? The real world laughs. Or cries.
*The peerless FBI managed to ejaculate roughly $1.2 million dollars to acquire- and subsequently remove- an ‘art’ installation from its Miami, Florida field office. The $750,000 Western Red Cedar sculpture was making people in the field office ill due to the nearly overwhelming presence of cedar dust. I’m not going out on a limb when I say whoever made the decision to spend that money should face charges of trees-on.
*West Virginia University managed to spend $3.5 million on a study that tried to ascertain why people don’t like going to dentists. (That is a puzzler. The study’s findings purportedly claim that people have a higher opinion of root canals than Congress).
*The Commerce Department gave $1.7 million to the ‘National Comedy Center’ in Jamestown, N.Y., to produce holograms of deceased comedians. Unfortunately, that’s no joke. The first hologram depicted Lucille Ball of ‘I Love Lucy’ fame. To be fair, she was a resident of Jamestown when young. She is also the first hologram developed by the Center. (Many more to follow, I’m sure). Commerce Department, “You’ve got some ‘splainin’ to do!”

This money is confiscated from those who not only may not agree with this spending, but perhaps could have used it to send their kids to a better college or taken a family trip of a lifetime…or started a new business venture.
And, oh yeah, we are 20 trillion dollars in debt.

Democratic House Members Refuse To Attend Trump Inauguration

He may have been an effective rabble-rouser community organizer, but the Great Uniter he is not. President Obama leaves with the country more divided than it has been since the Civil War. To add insult to injury, more than 50 Democratic lawmakers (and there’s nothing Democrats like to do more than making laws for others to follow) are planning to skip the incoming president’s inauguration ceremony Friday. There’s a healing, uniting, tolerant, inclusive gesture! What a classless group of selfish, hypocritical, grandstanding, childish ideologues these clowns are.
Oddly, I don’t recall many any Republican members of Congress boycotting either Obama inauguration, intolerant racists that they are purported to be. No, it only goes one way…the left gets to accuse their opponents of traits that they themselves possess, and that their opponents usually don’t, while getting a free pass from the mainstream media.
Speaking of the inauguration, anyone who can play a musical instrument, sing, juggle, dance or is practiced in the art of origami is in danger of being tarred and feathered if they come within a ten mile radius of the festivities. Yet acts that many would expect to have a more conservative fan-base, such as Toby Keith and Lynrd Skynrd, performed at President Obama’s inaugural(s) with little to no backlash.
It is an amazing fact, that, when a Democrat wins the presidency, they immediately mount the bully-pulpit, grab any microphone in sight, and reflexively claim that the nation has spoken, the people have bestowed an enormous mandate upon them, and the time for decisive change has arrived. When, however, a Republican prevails, Democrats immediately mount the bully-pulpit, grab any microphone in sight, and reflexively assert that the incoming Republican president must move to the center, reach his hand across the aisle and be the President of all the people, especially those who didn’t vote for him. And that occurs even on the few occasions they don’t claim the Republican President-elect is illegitimate and has stolen the election from the people.

Atheists: Make America Forsake Amen!

                “Make Christmas Great Again…skip church!”

So reads the slogan that the clever folks at American Atheists used in an attempt to dissuade their countrymen from attending religious services this past Christmas season. Let’s first look at the slogan itself and then at the organization’s motive for the campaign.
What is striking about the phrase is its sheer idiocy. Here, too, the left illustrates its childish demand to have things both ways. They mirthfully mock Trump as the leader of the backward, God-fearing, Bible-thumping deplorables from the hinterlands, yet are equally happy to believe he spends much of his time cavorting with Russian hookers in the Caligula Suite at the Moscow Hilton, where the showers flow as golden as the Donald’s hair.
But, on a deeper level, why does this group feel the need to spend so much time and effort to persuade others to lose their religion? No one is forcing atheists to go to church. No one’s trying to alter their non-belief-system. On the surface it seems odd that these progressive-minded people, open to almost anything, should try so hard to get everyone else to join them in their disbelief. But they truly do believe…that you are an idiot if you believe in God. Most of these same people also fervently, deeply, reverently believe in man-caused global warming. Yet, when someone dares to even lightly question this sacred belief of theirs, that someone is told to shut up, called a “denier” and branded with a crimson ”D.”
Practitioners of two religions, Islam and Atheism, are equally intolerant and driven by an overwhelming need to convert others. Therefore neither is compatible with a free and open society, based on the rule of law, inalienable rights and a market economy. Indeed, these things are anathema to leftists. Progressives seek their power in big government. Atheists will not tolerate any restraint on their- or their comrade’s- behavior. Gay marriage has no less meaning than heterosexual marriage. GLBTGQ clergy. You can be whatever gender you want to be…at any given moment. Legalize pot. Polyamory? Just another lifestyle choice. No job? No problem, soak the rich white guys. Abortion on demand! And have the government subsidize it! Free birth control. Pass out condoms in public schools. But pay single moms for having more kids. Ridicule men and fathers. Manufacture and then highlight race and class divisions. Stoke envy and resentment.
All of these are of one piece, as together they inevitably lead to the breakdown of society. Religion, or more specifically Judeo-Christian values and tenets, must be tossed out in order to create the conditions necessary for The State to take its place. Witness the Third Reich, the Soviet Union, North Korea and the People’s Republic of China, for example.
Look at how modern-day “liberals” treat those with whom they disagree. Look at the Golden Globe Awards fiasco. Look at how they treated Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Clarence Thomas, et. al. Look at how they treated non-partisan musical acts that had the audacity to even consider playing at the inauguration of Donald Trump. Look at how they treat Donald Trump.
Leftists think those possessing the temerity to disagree with them must be evil. They have dispensed with God in order to worship themselves.

Dan Rather To Teach Online Truth In Journalism Course

In a bizarre turn of events, former CBS anchorman Dan (“Courage”) Rather is now teaching an online course called “Journalism & Finding the Truth in the News.” The class is offered through Udemy, and is aimed at both the general public and those who aspire to a career in media.
Were Mary Mapes, Sabrina Erdely, Jayson Blair, Stephen Glass and Janet Cooke unavailable? Surely someone from the Onion would have been a better choice.
The course description reads, “In this course, Dan teaches invaluable foundations on great writing, the essentials of telling a good story, and how to remain calm and captivating on camera — useful skills for anyone fascinated by the power of the news or anyone who wants to contribute to serious journalism.” Serious journalism? Seriously? It continues, “Dan’s rich history and extensive knowledge of journalism, paired with practical, hands-on exercises, creates a unique learning opportunity and rare insight from an American legend.”
“Practical, hands-on exercises” such as forging documents using a word-processor?
I’m betting we can look forward to a bevy of new online courses from Udemy.com:
*”Perspectives on Patriotism”--Aldrich Ames and Robert Hanssen instructors
*”Email Security in the Age of Hacking”—taught by Hillary Clinton and John Podesta
*”Go Away…and Stay Away: keys to maintaining weight-loss and keeping a healthy, steady, and consistent body mass through the years”— coach: Oprah Winfrey
*”Demureness Is Next To Godliness”—with the Kardashians
                *”The Perfect Dad”—teacher: Brad Pitt
Look for these and other courses coming soon to Udemy!

Unemployment, Welfare And Reality

Less than 49% of Americans are employed. Less than 39% of French citizens are employed. In each case, fewer and fewer workers have to support more and more non-workers who are on the dole. There are only two possible ways to- temporarily- finance this: one, have the unemployed brazenly, continually, and increasingly sponge off of the (relatively few) employed, and/or two, run massive debts… until your economy/society collapses. The first is patently unfair, and will of course itself lead to fewer and fewer people working and a larger and larger debt. The second, historically, leads to a simple fait accompli once a nation reaches the point to which the United States is now approaching.
The simple fact is this: if entitlement spending isn’t cut dramatically, the future is bleak.

There are no other options available to a society that is rapidly losing its belief in the sanctity of work and effort.

Great Totalitarian Gun-Control Quotes

                                                 Great Totalitarian Anti-Gun Quotes

"We cannot let a minority of people—and that’s what it is, it is a minority of people—hold a viewpoint that terrorizes the majority of people."- Hillary Clinton
(Like radical Muslims? What about transgender “bathroom rights?” And I thought she liked minorities!)

"When we got organized as a country, [and] wrote a fairly radical Constitution, with a radical Bill of Rights, giving radical amounts of freedom to Americans, it was assumed that Americans who had that freedom would use it responsibly .... When personal freedom is being abused, you have to move to limit it." – Bill Clinton
(Did you really say this? Like you and your wife have used your freedom responsibly?!)

"All we ask for is registration, just like we do for cars."- Charles Schumer
(Chuck, if gun owners have to present picture I.D.’s and pass background checks, etc., why not voters? If you need a license to drive a car, why don’t you need one to vote?)

"A gun-control movement worthy of the name would insist that President Clinton move beyond his proposals for controls ... and immediately call on Congress to pass far-reaching industry regulation like the Firearms Safety and Consumer Protection Act ... [which] would give the Treasury Department health and safety authority over the gun industry, and any rational regulator with that authority would ban handguns."- Josh Sugarmann, Executive Director of the “Violence Policy Center” (The Treasury Department?)

“I don’t believe people should be able to own guns.” - Barack Obama, to economist and author John Lott, Jr., at the University of Chicago Law School in the 1990’s
(I don’t believe you should’ve been able to become leader of the free world and Commander-in-Chief. Let’s talk about our Constitutional rights, Mr. President. And I don't think people should be able to own automobiles, spears, bow and arrows, knives or baseball bats)

"I don't care if you want to hunt, I don't care if you think it's your right. I say 'sorry,' it's 1999. We have had enough as a nation. You are not allowed to own a gun, and if you do own a gun I think you should go to prison.”- Rosie O'Donnell, who, at about the time she said this, engaged the services of a bodyguard who promptly applied for a gun permit.
(“I don’t care if you want to stuff your face, I don’t care if you think it’s your right. I say ‘sorry,’ it’s 1999. We have had enough as a nation. You are not allowed to own a fork, Rosie, and if you do own a fork I think you should go to prison!” Obesity kills more people than guns each year in the United States)

"If I could have banned them all - 'Mr. and Mrs. America turn in your guns' - I would have!"- Diane Feinstein
(We know that, DiFi. Scary)

"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country." - Mayor Marion Barry, Washington, DC
(Marion is/was a national treasure. “Outside of the killings…” He cracks me up)

"All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The communist party must command all the guns, that way, no guns can ever be used to command the party."- Mao Tse Tung
(Perfectly said, Mao! If you were alive today, you would- without doubt- be the next head of the DNC)

"The measures adopted to restore public order are: First of all, the elimination of the so-called subversive elements .... They were elements of disorder and subversion. On the morrow of each conflict I gave the categorical order to confiscate the largest possible number of weapons of every sort and kind. This confiscation, which continues with the utmost energy, has given satisfactory results."- Benito Mussolini
(Confiscating guns yields ‘satisfactory’ results... to evil totalitarian thugs)

"The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the supply of arms to the underdogs is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty." - Adolf Hitler
(Disarm the populace, and…voila’! Government can’t be checked! Thanks for getting to the heart of the matter, ‘Dolf!)

"My view of guns is simple. I hate guns and I cannot imagine why anyone would want to own one. If I had my way, guns for sport would be registered, and all other guns would be banned." - Deborah Prothrow-Stith, Dean of Harvard School of Public Health
(My view of Deborah Prothrow-Stith is simple. I hate her and I cannot imagine why anyone would want to own her. If I had my way, Deborah Prothrow-Stith for sport would be registered, and all other uses for Deborah Prothrow-Stith would be banned)

U.S. Army To Allow Turbans, Hijabs And Facial Hair

The U.S. Army has recently taken bold new steps to accommodate Muslims, Sikhs, and other religious minorities. These actions will make it much easier for them to get approval to dress and groom themselves in accordance with their religious customs while in the military, an Army spokesman announced December 5th.
Indeed, Army Secretary Eric Fanning signed a memorandum last week revising the uniform policy in order to allow those in the aforementioned minority groups to sport beards, turbans, head- scarves, and hijabs as they so desire. There are a few restrictions, however. The hijabs must be of a similar color to the wearer’s uniform and cannot have designs or markings on them, unless they are camouflage. The soldiers must still be able to wear combat helmets or other protective headgear (that would seem a good rule for those in combat). And beards may not exceed two inches in length, “unless they are rolled up or tied up.”
The Army will now allow brigade-level commanders to approve the accommodations, authority previously limited to the Army Secretary, and denial of the requested accommodation can be appealed as high as the Army Secretary. Any approved accommodation carries throughout the soldier’s career and can’t be revoked or even modified without the express approval of…the Army Secretary.
Lieutenant Colonel Randy Taylor issued a statement averring: “Our goal is to balance soldier readiness and safety with the accommodation of our soldier’s faith practices, and this latest directive allows us to do that.”
According to Reuters, the new rules were welcomed by the Sikh Coalition. Coalition Legal Director Harsimran Kaur said, “We are pleased with the progress that this new policy represents for religious tolerance and diversity.”
The Army didn’t stop there, however. Apparently overtaken by progressive fervor, it amended its hair grooming rules, as well. Locks, twists, braids and cornrows are now allowed. (Is this also, “religious expression?” I’m sure Mohawks would be okay, too, as long as you could get your helmet on).
The storied- but no longer staid- fighting force is apparently also considering lifting any restrictions on piercings,  “bling,” and lip plates. Che Guevara tee-shirts will likely be allowed, as will patches or appliquĂ©s bearing the Hammer and Sickle, as long as they cover less than 10% of the soldiers uniform/outfit, sources say.
Moreover, in an effort to reach out to the LGBTGQ communities, the Army is rumored to be considering allowing corsets, wigs, high heels, tiaras, tu-tus, ball-gags, strap-ons, and evening gowns to be worn with approval of the Company Commander.

On the other hand, Crosses and Crucifixes have been permanently banned going forward.

In keeping with the recent loosening of restrictions, the Army is making a few changes to its promotional slogans and mottos. The recruiting slogan, “Army Strong,” will now be amended to: “Army Strong, Tolerant and Diverse!”  The organization’s official motto, “This We’ll Defend,” has been tweaked to read, “Diversity and Inclusiveness We’ll Defend.” The U.S. Military Academy at West Point is also altering its long-used motto, “Duty, Honor, Country.” Henceforth it will read, “Duty, Honor, Country, Allahu Akbar.”
Even the service’s popular though now-retired slogan, “Be All You Can Be,” used from 1980 until 2001, will be posthumously revised and presented to posterity as: “Be Anyone You Want To Be.”

California Inmate Receives State-Funded Sex-Reassignment Surgery

Shiloh Heavenly Quine, a 57-year-old convicted murderer serving a life sentence in California, became the first inmate in U.S. history to receive state-funded sex-reassignment surgery, the prisoner’s attorneys recently confirmed to the Associated Press. (It would have been best if she had received a state-funded name-reassignment operation).
State prison officials agreed to pay for the surgery in August of 2015, despite the fact that Quine was convicted of first-degree murder, kidnapping and robbery for ransom, and has no possibility of parole. California has now become the first state to set “standards” that will allow transgender inmates to apply to receive complimentary sex-change operations.
Inmate 1: “What are you in for?”
                Inmate 2: “State-funded sex-reassignment surgery, baby…that’s what I’m talkin’ ‘bout!”
The case also prompted a federal magistrate to require California to provide transgender “female” inmates currently in men’s facilities with more female-oriented items, such as nighties, scarves and necklaces. (That seems like stereotyping to me). Quine, who was born a man and went on to marry and divorce two women while fathering two daughters, will be moved to a women’s prison after recovering from the operation, which was performed at a San Francisco hospital.
Kris Hayashi, executive director of the Transgender Law Center (a little TLC never hurt anybody!), which represents Quine and other transgender felons, stated: “For too long, institutions have ignored doctors and casually dismissed medically necessary and life-saving care for transgender people just because of who we are.” Hayashi added that Quine’s surgery is not only a landmark legal settlement, but a clear victory “for all transgender people who have ever been denied the medical care we need.”
It is certainly a devastating loss for the families of those who have been victimized by transgender inmates casually dismissing the lives of their loved ones. These gender dysphoric felons kill people and then demand that taxpayers pay for sex change operations that could supposedly save their lives? The daughter of Shiloh Heavenly’s victim said she objects to inmates getting taxpayer funded surgery that isn’t even readily available to non-criminals, regardless of cost. “My dad begged for his life,” she said. “It just made me dizzy and sick. I’m helping pay for his surgery; I live in California. It’s kind of like a slap in the face.”
That is an infinitely more restrained choice of words to describe this bizarre and evil travesty than I would’ve chosen.
The cost of sex-reassignment surgery, including procedures and medications necessary both before and after the operation(s) is high. Advocates, however, say that most of the state’s expenses will be reimbursed by the federal government. That’s great, let’s make those taxpayers not residing in the completely dysfunctional state of California pay for its debauched, delusional practices.
Corrections spokeswoman Terry Thornton says California was legally required to pay for Quine’s operation. She proclaimed, via a written statement: “The Eighth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution requires that prisons provide inmates with medically necessary treatment for medical and mental health conditions, including inmates diagnosed with gender dysphoria.”

                No it doesn’t.

The Eighth Amendment actually says, “Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.”

This bears absolutely no resemblance to Thornton’s claim. Thornton herself should be in prison for making false statements, fraud, slander, misrepresentation, mischaracterization, false advertising and felony idiocy. No one in the 18th century had ever even heard the term “gender dysphoria,” Terry. You should legally be required to step down from your position and pay for your own mental health treatment, no matter the cost…”just because of who you are.”

Golden Globe Winners Savage Trump

In a shameless, feel-good orgy of smug superiority, the faux-people of Hollywood utilized the occasion of honoring themselves to ejaculate anti-Trump rhetoric into the ether Sunday night. Predictably, attendees wallowed in their own lamentable, pathetic, hypocritical, despicable display of lusty ignorance, cheering louder for each ensuing orgasmic slight. To whit:
Jimmy Fallon kicked off the night by comparing Donald Trump to HBO’s Game of Thrones villain King Joffrey: “Game of Thrones is nominated tonight—how great is that? The show has so many plot twists and chalky moments, a lot of people have wondered what it would’ve been like if King Joffrey had lived. Well, in 12 days, we’re gonna find out.” For those of you who don’t watch the show, Joffrey is a bastard son, sexual sadist, murderer, and purveyor of infanticide who kills for the sheer fun of it. He rips the tongue out of one characters mouth and makes a daughter look at the severed head of her father, among other niceties.
Can you grasp the truly insane hypocrisy here? These Hollywood hucksters are honoring a show that continually exhibits the most violent and vile acts imaginable, mass murder, infanticide, and incest, etc., but are using that same occasion to make a holier-than-thou political statement blasting a guy who was inadvertently caught on tape perhaps using the “p-word” inappropriately when talking to another man in private. Fallon went on to mock Trump for losing the popular vote and for his team’s difficulty in booking A-list talent to perform at his inauguration, saying, “Florence Foster Jenkins is nominated. She’s the world’s worst opera singer and yet even she turned down performing at the inauguration.”
What a class act! Demeaning another ‘performer’ in an attempt to humiliate the President-elect of the United States. The reason so many ‘A-list’ performers won’t be performing at the Trump inauguration is that your elitist crowd has threatened them with boycotts- or worse- ‘A-list’ asshole.
Fallon’s fellow drunk Hugh Laurie further excited the crowd by stating: "I suppose it's made more amazing by the fact that I'll be able to say I won this at the last ever Golden Globes. I don't mean to be gloomy, it's just that it has the words Hollywood, foreign and press in the title. I just don't know.… I also think, to some Republicans, even the word association is slightly sketchy." He then jokingly told the now writhing crowd that he was accepting the honor “on behalf of psychopathic billionaires everywhere.” Billionaire might be a pay-cut for many of the Hollywood stars, who traveled to this celebration of themselves in chauffeured elegance before being escorted down the red carpet while the paparazzi recorded their every move. And it would require more terms than ‘psychopathic’ to describe many of their psychoses.
Meryl Streep worked the crowd into a further frenzy by spouting: "And this instinct to humiliate when it's modeled by someone in the public platform, by someone powerful, it filters down into everybody's life because it kind of gives permission for other people to do the same thing. Disrespect invites disrespect. Violence incites violence. And when the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose.”
Which was exactly what Meryl Streep was doing.
Can you imagine those speaking at the Golden Globe awards, or at any significant entertainment or mass-media venue saying the same things about Barack Obama or any Democrat? Can you imagine conservatives taking every public opportunity to do so? Impossible.
That is why, though I personally am pre-disposed not to like a Donald Trump because of his sometimes unnecessarily combative and unrefined personality, I am driven to defend him.
The incessant, unrelenting, truly unhinged attacks on Donald Trump by nearly every power-wielding group in the country piss off the justice and underdog lover in me. Those in the mainstream media, academia, government, et. al., leveraging their unquestioned, unchallenged bully-pulpit to continually engage in over-the-top rants against Trump while simultaneously branding him a bully and violence monger, make me reflexively want to engage them, and illustrate their hypocrisy. If you’ve seen many movies or watched much television lately, you’d know that the emperor has no clothes. (Come to think of it though, many of the Hollywood starlets on parade at the awards show weren’t wearing much in the way of clothing, either, apparently content to show off their own Golden Globes).
Hollywood stars,  like their comrades in Big Media, Big Labor, and Big Academia, tend to exhibit  herd mentality: following (what they believe to be) the majority for fear of being wrong, ostracized or ridiculed. The group mind, according to one definition, “is not a mere collection (or the sum) of the minds of all the individual members of a group. It is a mind of its own distinct from minds working on different levels: it’s working based on emotions, appeals, suggestions and slogans.” (Emphasis mine).
Persons exhibiting this behavior may no longer even be conscious of their acts. They are as if hypnotized. They are automatons.
The Hollywood types exhibit a particularly repulsive kind of mob behavior: attacking others (for, perhaps, “attacking” others) while they publicly stroke and flaunt their own moral superiority. In some respects, it’s a verbal version of the four young black’s assault of the helpless white youth in Chicago recently. Though they would never mention that vile act, because it doesn’t fit with their predetermined, politically-correct meme.
A herd mentality, cowardice, combined with a lack of character, integrity and free will…always leads to tyranny.

                King Joffrey would know that.
