It's About Time: A New Year's Message

New Year’s Eve. Time to eulogize the old year and ring in the new one. I, for one, say “good riddance” to 2020.  Many people in the U.S. (and around the world) feel the same way. Many are weary after dealing with the Wuhan Flu, riots in the streets, rigged and corrupt elections, and our leaders’ reaction to them. Many are anxious and uncertain, skeptical of what the future may bring, sick and tired of seeing their freedoms stripped away. There is good reason for those feelings. Every day, the media and “experts” tell us we have to behave—and think—in certain ways. They loudly purport to be objective and claim to only have our best interests in mind, though this is obviously a lie.

Never-the-less, never despair. One person, determined, can change the world. Many, acting in harmony and with integrity, character and resolve can achieve almost anything. We have faced- and overcome- several equally dire crises in times past. Look to the American Founders, Abraham Lincoln, and Winston Churchill for examples. Let us this day highly resolve to take positive action this coming year, whether it be of a micro or macro nature.

Make time to play some games with your kids. Tell your spouse you love her or him. Read a classic book. Cross something off your “bucket list.”

And don’t let someone tell you lies, or let any group or government tell you how to think and act…and what you can and cannot say. Attend a caucus. Speak up. We have been granted the gift of voice, yet many remain silent. We have been granted the gift of passion, yet many stay passive.

Obviously, New Year’s Eve is a time to reflect on…time…and its passing. How it’s shaped us, and hopefully, we it. We salute those we lost this past year and make resolutions to try to be better versions of ourselves in the year to follow.

Let’s not squander time of all things, as we are given so little of it. “Time is of the essence” the saying goes. That is technically not true. Time is the essence. What is there without time? “Time after time” we hear clichés about time.  In the nick of time. Father Time. Once upon a time. It’s just a question of time.

Has there ever been a time without time? Time is…timeless. We are not. At least in this mortal realm.

So let’s resolve to not just mark time. Let’s make time… to do what we’ll otherwise wish we had done when we are out of time. Starting now.

It is time for us to speak. It is time for us to do, to save this republic.

There may well be no time like the present. But, remember, of all the gifts we’ve been given… there is no present like time.

Minnesota Gov. Walz Threatens To Imprison Business Owner, Release Child Murderer

Larvita McFarquhar is an African-American single mom with four children. She owns and manages Haven's Garden, a family-oriented restaurant in Lynd, Minnesota, with an attached gymnasium for kids. She is the quintessential entrepreneur and family woman, but, according to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, she is now a criminal, because she had the audacity to keep her business open in contravention of the governor’s orders. It matters not to Gov. Walz that she did this at great expense and in full compliance with all the governor’s safety and distancing restrictions. Walz, through the Minnesota attorney general's office, has filed documents to imprison McFarquhar for trying to keep her business afloat, feed her family, and provide an income for her employees.

Conversely, Gov. Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison, as part of the state's “Board of Pardons,” recently voted to immediately commute the life sentence of Myon Burrell after he served 18 years for the murder of 11-year-old Tyesha Edwards in 2002. Burrell attempted to kill someone else in a gang fight that day, but a stray bullet hit Edwards in the heart while she was in her home doing schoolwork. Burrell's cousin and jail-mate testified in 2002 that Burrell confessed to the killing, and Timothy Oliver, the intended victim of the shooting, testified that Burrell pulled the trigger. But, no matter, Walz wanted him released anyway. I mean, Burrell didn’t defy an order he had given, and had no small business with which to antagonize him.

Leftist totalitarian wanna-bes like Walz are in the process of destroying Minnesota and most of the other blue states. Minnesota’s Ramsey County prison population plummeted by over 43% just since 2010, prior to the coronavirus outbreak and the George Floyd riots. Now formerly sedate St. Paul has one of the highest crime rates in the country, at 42 per one thousand residents, according to Neighborhood Scout. An individual’s chance of becoming the victim of either a violent or a property crime is one in 24. Think there might be a connection?

Hennepin County has recently done away with bail requirements for at least 20 felony-level crimes. Subsequently, car-jackings in Minneapolis were up a stupefying 537% this November over last year, and homicide numbers have risen dramatically, as well.

Only a leftist could believe it is good policy to decriminalize…crime…while criminalizing entrepreneurship and small business ownership.

If you Google Haven’s Garden, you will come across reviews that say: “A hidden treasure,” “Family friendly,” “Great food, cold beer, and a warm smile,” “You won’t be disappointed,” and “Five stars is not enough.”

None of those descriptions fit Walz—or any governing body that tramples on the Constitutional rights of those they supposedly serve.

Larvita McFarquhar knows that all too well.

College Introduces The Dan Rather Awards For News And Guts

Incredibly, the University of Texas at Austin's School of Journalism and Media recently announced that it has introduced new awards "honoring reporting as well as exceptional content," named after former CBS News anchor Dan Rather. In doing so, the school overlooked the fact that Rather was fired from his job at CBS in 2004 after being caught peddling fake news based on forged documents in a pathetic attempt to smear then President George W. Bush.

According to the website of the same name, “The Dan Rather Medals for News and Guts” will “honor the process of journalism as much as the end product.” They will be awarded to “professional and collegiate journalists who go the extra yard — overcoming obstacles like stonewalling and harassment — to get the story that tells truth to power.” Or that uses outright fabrication to advance one’s own personal agenda.

I’m surprised UTA hasn’t yet named an award after Brian “I Really Thought I was On That Helicopter” Williams.

Everything currently put in front of us by institutions of higher education, mainstream news organizations, the entertainment industry, Big Tech, and the majority of our politicians…is a hoax of one kind or another. Truth, logic, and reason are not only not celebrated by our elite rulers, they are masked up, locked down and hidden away in quarantine as if they were the most dangerous viruses imaginable. Because, in effect, they are…to those who are terrified that the rest of us might one day challenge their power.

So, what’s next in this panoply of the preposterous? The Hunter Biden Award for Moral Purity? The Hillary Clinton Award for Magnanimity in Defeat? The Jeffrey Toobin Award for Outstanding Contributions to ZOOM Meetings? The Adolf Hitler Award for the Advancement of Zionism? Perhaps the Joseph R. Biden Award for Election Integrity?

University Declares "Picnic" Offensive

The University of Michigan has a department called Information and Technology Services. And that department has a “Words Matter Task Force.” And that task force recently put out a lengthy memorandum containing a long list of words and phrases that it has deemed offensive…and suggested words and phrases to replace them. The memorandum, obtained by The College Fix, states: “To effectively communicate with customers, it is important for ITS to evaluate the terms and language conventions that may hinder effective communication, harm morale, and deliberately or inadvertently exclude people from feeling accepted to foment a healthy and inclusive culture.” Yes, you can feel our culture getting healthier by the day!

The memo touches on the naming of artifacts, cultural development within Information and Technology Services, the creation of an advisory board, and a list of steps to be taken next. Words and phrases that could “harm morale” include “crack the whip,” IT terms such as “blacklist,” “whitelist,” and “privileged account,” “spokesman,” and “chairman.” Or any word with the term “man” embedded in it, obviously. We are to substitute “person” instead. “Gyp” is beyond the pale (is that phrase forbidden, too?) as well, as it is, apparently, a derivative of “gypsy.” Nor are we to use the words “crazy,” “dummy,” or “sanity check.” Their Task Force approved substitutes are “unthinkable,” “placeholder,” and “coherence check,” respectively. Words such as “crippled” and “handicapped” are to be replaced by “weakened” and “restricted.” And “grandfathered in” is also taboo, just as it is now in other educational institutions, whether it somehow be considered racist, ageist, or both.

Incredibly, “picnic” made the verboten list too, though no one really seems to know why. The word has no known racist, bigoted, or otherwise untoward origins or connotations. Yet the Task Force advises the use of “gathering” instead. (Even though “gatherings” are problematic in the COVID Era.)

The memo doesn’t explicitly address what will happen to employees and others who do not abide by its guidelines and mandates. We don’t know if they will simply be shunned or admonished, or if they will lose their jobs, forfeit their firstborn sons or daughters—or be summarily shot. Policing language is oddly in vogue in 2020, when all other forms of policing are considered racist and counterproductive by the academic elite. The communication also proudly proclaims: “To bring moments in which inclusive language should have been used to a real-life perspective, we want to create educational animations/short videos for ITS staff to learn more about why these issues are important.” Which they did, noting that the videos would utilize stick figures they call “neutral characters,” so as not to offend the overly thin.

The woke message goes on to describe additional new ways for organizational development to adhere to critical standards of diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI.

Saying that “words matter” as you ban their use and strip them of their meaning is crazy unthinkable…or should be.

Oh well, spending every minute of every day looking for ways to be offended can’t be a picnic.

Dr. Fauci Admits He Lied

The esteemed Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the government’s coronavirus task force, recently admitted to the New York Times that he opted not to tell the truth to Americans about how many people would need to be vaccinated in order for the nation to achieve herd immunity, because he didn’t think they could then handle the truth.

Fauci initially said that between 60 and 70 percent of Americans would need to be vaccinated to achieve that goal, a statement he now says he made because he feared the real number might discourage people from getting vaccinated. Then, a little more than a month ago, Fauci revised that figure to between 70 and 75 percent. And, in recent days, he modified it again, claiming that between “75 to 80-plus percent” of the populace would need to get vaccinated. Remarkably, in the Times interview, he suggested the real figure is closer “to 90 percent.” The paper admitted that, during the telephone interview, Fauci “acknowledged that he had slowly but deliberately been moving the goal posts. He is doing so, he said, partly based on new science, and partly on his gut feeling that the country is finally ready to hear what he really thinks." The good doctor told the Times he repeatedly put out fake numbers in the past because "many Americans seemed hesitant about vaccines, which they would need to accept almost universally in order for the country to achieve herd immunity." He added, "When polls said only about half of all Americans would take a vaccine, I was saying herd immunity would take 70 to 75 percent. Then, when newer surveys said 60 percent or more would take it, I thought, 'I can nudge this up a bit,' so I went to 80, 85."

Incredibly, Fauci went on to explicitly state that his future pronouncements might still be less than truthful based solely on his feeling of what the public is ready to hear, not what the science says: "We need to have some humility here. We really don't know what the real number is. I think the real range is somewhere between 70 to 90 percent. But, I'm not going to say 90 percent."

If Fauci believes the “real number” actually is 90 percent and he still won’t say that, he is not a “scientist.” And he may want to revisit the Hypocritical Hippocratic Oath that is supposed to guide doctors’ actions. Based on his past prevarications, it is impossible to surmise what Fauci really thinks. Perhaps he believes that herd immunity can only be obtained if more than 100% of Americans are vaccinated.

This would have seemed to be a bit of a stretch in the olden days, but, based on numbers from certain precincts in the recent presidential election, would now seem possible. I look forward to hearing the good doctor say that, “If between 102 and 118 percent of Americans get vaccinated, we should be able to return to some sense of normalcy by 2023.”

Another Russian Doctor Falls Out A Window To His Death

Yet another Russian involved with COVID-19 treatments has fallen out of a window and died. Biologist Alexander “Sasha” Kagansky, 45, known for his work fighting cancer, reportedly fell from a 14th floor window of a St Petersburg residential high-rise building…while clad only in his underwear. Oh, and he had a stab wound on his body according to Moskovsky Komsomolets (MK). Nothing to see here. Happens all the time.

Actually, in Russia, it does. No fewer than six Russians plunged to their deaths from hospital windows earlier this year. Another, Dr. Alexander Shulepov, 37, survived but remains hospitalized with head injuries after “falling” from a second-floor window shortly after complaining about personal protective equipment (PPE) shortages and being made to work despite suffering from the virus.

Kagansky, who was recently the Director of the Centre for Genomic and Regenerative Medicine at Russia's Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok, had been working on coronavirus treatments before he sailed out the window. The Russian Investigative Committee has opened a murder probe into his death, and a 45-year-old male suspect has been detained. The suspect, reportedly a friend of Dr. Kaganksy, claimed that the biologist was in a mentally unstable state before his death and that he injured himself with a knife, according to Bild. He further claimed that Kaganksy jumped from the balcony when he tried to take the weapon from him. Right. He stabbed himself and jumped out the window.

In any case, Russian windows are oddly and exceedingly dangerous to doctors and patients alike. Earlier this year, Natalya Shcherbakova, 45, fell to her death after being treated for the coronavirus.

Dr. Yelena Nepomnyaschchava, 47, also fell to her death…after complaining about “acute shortages”' of PPE.

Dr. Natalya Lebedeva, 48, fell to her death while being treated for Covid-19…after she was blamed for the spread of coronavirus at her clinic.

Nadezhda Salkovae, 74, also fell to her death while being treated for Covid-19.

As did an unidentified man, 68, from a window in the intensive care ward of Veterans' Hospital in Yaroslavl.

Yet another man, 49, fell 60 feet to his death from the window of a Moscow prenatal hospital which had been reassigned to treat victims of the pandemic…while being treated for Covid-19.

Family members of the victims have suggested the coronavirus sufferers may have been experiencing suicidal thoughts from the drugs that were used to treat them, causing them to try and kill themselves.

Call me a skeptic, but I have to say “Nyet” to that suggestion. People don’t routinely throw themselves out of windows, whether from the second story or the fourteenth, because of medication. And how the hell are they getting out of windows in supposedly secure and monitored areas like intensive care wards?

The only thing we can say with certainty is that sanity, like the bodies of these now deceased Russians, has gone out the window.

Christmas Really About Feminist Empowerment, Says Progressive Theologian

In case leftists haven’t perpetrated enough hoaxes or issued enough preposterous statements for you lately, here is another. United Church of Christ Rev. Jes Kast recently posted on Twitter: "Christmas season is about God choosing a woman to lead a revolution of re-organizing the structures of societal power by her leadership, tenderness, and faith." Um, not entirely sure about that one, Jes. Some of us believe that Christmas has something to do with Christ, specifically His birth as the Son of God and Savior of the world. You might want to restrict your lectures on feminist empowerment and Marxist theory to the rest of the year and “let” Jesus Christ be the focus of the Christmas season.

A United Church of Christ spokesperson noted in 2011 that the church had committed to “using inclusive and expansive imagery for God and would “no longer use exclusively male language to refer to God.” The denomination's Twitter bio reads: "United in Spirit and inspired by God's grace, we accept all, love all, and seek justice for all. We are the United Church of Christ." Really?

Does the church make any distinction between, say, serial child rapists and, oh, those that don’t serially rape children? Or does it love them all equally and without judgement? Does its “inclusive and expansive imagery for God” include God as a transvestite or transgender? Agender? Pansexual? What are God’s preferred pronouns? Jesus’? Should we refer to Jesus as “they,” or perhaps “Xir?” Has the church updated all its Bibles, hymnals, and other literature to reflect its awe-inspiring inclusiveness? Has it fully leveraged its arrogant wokeness and virtue-signaling to appeal to a younger, hipper, more progressive potential flock, even as it’s sold its soul for what it deems to be the higher moral imperative of diversity?

What we need to do is reorganize the structures of societal power so that power is stripped from the elites who believe themselves to be greater than both the citizens they rule over and the God those citizens believe in…and return it to the citizens they so disdain.

The belief and primacy of Natural Law is the only possible way a free and just society can be sustained. That is simply a historical—and natural—fact, though controversial in all statist and tyrannical societies. It is not an opinion, it is a reality. This was the defining factor that made the United States different than other nations, and, to the extent the U.S. has strayed from that belief, it has been to its great and rapid detriment. Simply put, if our rights don’t come from our Creator (and none of us created ourselves, did we?), then they come from man. Or woman. Bob. Or Brunhilda. Or a group of people. Republicans or Democrats, Fascists or Communists. And, if that’s the case, then none of us have any inherent rights outside of those they grant us. So, if the government wishes to incarcerate us or exterminate us, too bad, so be it.

The Bible says God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Sonso that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but may have everlasting lifeOur rulers want us to believe in them, too-- but would Nancy Pelosi, Angela Merkel, Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong un, or the Chinese Communist Party make that same sacrifice, that same promise?

College May Drop "Pioneer" Mascot, Logo

Marietta College (in Marietta, Ohio) is considering changing its mascot, Putnam the Pio, and its accompanying logo, a pioneer, because of concerns over possible "lack of inclusivity." Putnam the Pio was installed as Marietta College’s official mascot only six years ago, in 2014. He is modeled after General Rufus Putnam, the founder of the first permanent settlement in the Northwest Territory, and a combatant in the American Revolutionary War…two seemingly great accomplishments and positive attributes.

Nonetheless, according to a recent email sent to the campus community by Marietta College President Bill Ruud, a 12-month review of the mascot and logo is now underway. Ruud wrote: "In light of recent events around our country and feedback from alumni and other friends of the College, Marietta College will undergo a thorough review of its Pioneer Mascot. This 12-month process makes official the preliminary discussions our leadership team and I have been having with interested alumni constituents throughout this past summer and fall, as well as with the Board of Trustees and Marietta College Alumni Association.”

Here is the Merriam-Webster definition of “pioneer”: 1) a member of a military unit usually of construction engineers. 2a) a person or group that originates or helps open up a new line of thought or activity or a new method or technical development. 2b) one of the first to settle in a territory. How can any of these by offensive? Surely constructing something out of the wilderness in the Revolutionary Era was a good thing. And how could any card-carrying progressive take issue with a person who opens up “a new line of thought” or method of technical development? Open-mindedness and science are both excellent things, no? But maybe some will say that the “pioneers” were not the first to settle anywhere in the U.S. and are interlopers on “stolen” land. If that should be their complaint, then they cannot logically, simultaneously welcome illegal aliens…or any immigrants, for that matter…into the country now.

What a strange and sad time we live in, when Putnam the Pio is considered problematic but Hunter the Pedo is not.

Actress Says "Stand Your Ground" Laws Immoral

Actress-- and abortion activist-- Elizabeth Banks berated "Stand Your Ground" laws in a recent Twitter thread, calling them "BS" and nothing but "permission to kill people." The laws to which she was referring “allow” individuals, in the 25 states where they have been adopted, to defend themselves against intruders, thieves and potential murderers. Yet Banks, an outspoken supporter of a woman's right to abort babies, claims the laws exist only to aid "people who want justified reasons to use a deadly weapon."

Like, say, using a curette to kill a baby for your own convenience?

It is inconceivable, unbelievable, preposterous in the extreme that we now have people so dumb, unaware, egotistical, flat out evil…or some combination of these…that they think defending one’s own life against a criminal attack is immoral, but taking the life of another—innocent-- person for one’s own convenience is a natural right, enshrined in the Constitution, nothing more than “women’s health care.”

Ohio To Allow Wrestling But Not Handshakes

Some things just make one say “hmmm.” But, everything doesn’t have to make sense, especially not in a COVID-19 world. Which is nice, because almost nothing does. Take Ohio’s decision to allow high school wrestling matches this late fall and winter. That isn’t necessarily the head-scratching part, however. Yes, it is the most physical of all sports, with contestants grappling and grabbing each other’s body parts like Democratic politicians at a drunken orgy. What is inexplicable is that the wrestlers won’t be allowed to shake hands before or after their matches. That’s right, they can be face to face, grab each other’s crotches, and stuff their noses in backsides and armpits for nine floppy, sweaty minutes a match, but will not be permitted to shake the hands of-- or high-five-- their opponents. Or coaches. In the interests of safety, of course. Fist-bumping is right out.

Additionally, the combatants must not congregate “before or after practices or games,” must “observe social distancing of 6 feet” while on the team bench, and must not “share equipment, towels, facial coverings, water bottles, other drinks or food.” Additionally, they must wear facial coverings at all times “when not actively competing or warming up.” (In other words, when not exerting and breathing hard.) Moreover, coaches will not be permitted to share “clipboards, whiteboards, dry erase boards or any other equipment used for coaching purposes.”

Wrestling officials, who spend much of each match prone on the mat (inches away from the grunting, maskless wrestlers) looking for “pins,” will also not be required to wear masks during matches but will be forbidden from holding up the winning wrestler’s arm at the match’s conclusion. Right.

This is just part and parcel with the illogic and insanity that has permeated officials’ and experts’ responses to the coronavirus plandemic. It’s okay to shop at Costco, Walmart, Target, and massive shopping centers, but not to eat at a local restaurant or go to the gym. Or help your neighbor carry in the items they purchased at Costco, Walmart, Target, and massive shopping centers. Got it?

So go ahead, per our experts, and have sex with a stranger, but do not kiss them or shake their hand before or after having vaginal, anal, or oral sex with them! Because, you know, it’s always better to be safe.

Trans Insanity

“Zinnia Jones,” an American transgender commentator with her own YouTube fan page, recently argued that children should be legally able to consent to the administration of puberty blockers. "If children can't consent to puberty blockers which pause any permanent changes, even with the relevant professional evaluation,” she asked on Twitter, “how can they consent to the permanent and irreversible changes that come with their own puberty with no professional evaluation whatsoever?" You’ve got to be kidding me. We can’t consent to puberty, it happens naturally. We can’t consent to having two legs and either a penis or a vagina, either. God doesn’t need our consent. No matter how hard we try, we can’t “consent” to being born. But, I’m sure that will be the next big “progressive” issue. They will argue for consent to go through puberty, be a boy or a girl, and to be born…but not for consent to be aborted, of course! The kid doesn’t get that choice!

Jones further argued that “an inability to offer informed consent or understand the long-term consequences is actually an argument for putting every single cis and trans person on puberty blockers until they acquire that ability. An inability to offer informed consent or understand the long-term consequences of a healthy process that happens naturally and has been doing so since humans arrived on the planet is actually an argument for artificially stopping that process by injecting every child with chemicals that block the process from happening? That’s perfectly illogical. It’s like saying an inability to offer informed consent or understand the long-term consequences of aging is actually an argument for freezing kids cryogenically until they acquire that ability.

Jones’ comments are particularly remarkable in light of the increasing number of people who “transitioned” in their youth, fervently regret it, and now wish to go back to the gender of their birth. But she stated in her tweet thread that puberty became "optional" when technology was developed to "enable deliberate choice between natal puberty and puberty induced by cross-sex hormones.” Rather like how human intimacy became “optional” when technologically advanced sex dolls were developed. Or how reality became optional with the advent of virtual reality.

Unsurprisingly, Jones, who was “assigned” male at her birth (which she did not consent to), is an atheist who has posted numerous videos critical of religion. “Her” profile states: "After years identifying as a gay male, Zinnia finally came to the conclusion that she was actually a trans woman in 2011 and started a romantic relationship with her close friend and lesbian Heather McNamara, becoming an adoptive mother towards Heather's two children. Zinnia is currently in a polyamorous relationship with Heather and another trans woman named Penny.”

Does this mean that Heather the lesbian is in a relationship with two people with male genitalia? These things can get kind of confusing. What could go wrong? But I digress.

By Jones’ logic, why not put every kid on assisted suicide waiting lists, too, until each of them decides if he/she/they/xir/zie/etc. consents to growing up? (If they haven’t already been aborted.)

Many of us no longer wish to give our consent to the things that we can control and that should require it, like the decision to cover our own breathing apparatus with masks. But we do want veto power over natural processes and God’s will. Amazing.

Our arrogance and idiocy grow together, as does our ignorance and wickedness. Sorry to say, this does not bode well.

Breakdancing To Be An Olympic Sport In 2024

It is the end of the world as we know it.

Breakdancing” is going to be an Olympic sport at the Paris 2024 event. (If mankind makes it to 2024. And is not locked down by another plandemic pandemic.)

Yes, breakdancing is among four “sports” that the Paris organizers have opted to add to The Games of the XXXIII Olympiad. The other three are “sport climbing,” skateboarding and surfing. It seems the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is keen to introduce more inclusive, youth-centered, and gender-balanced (or gender-neutral) games to the stodgy, stuffy old Olympic Games. The four additional sports have a few things in common. They are all easy to take up, popular with today’s youth, and have large, active followings on social media. The IOC thinks the addition of these sports will inspire millions more kids to partake of them…and, more importantly, watch the Olympic Games.

So, baseball is out at the Summer Olympics but breakdancing is in. Surely line dancing and “twerking” will be Olympic sports in 2028. Such is the world in which we live.

In keeping with the drive for inclusiveness, perhaps Yachtzee, Tiddlywinks or tag could be added soon? Or “Pin The Tail On The Donkey?” On second thought, these are all, like, so yesterday. (Though the latter could be updated to “Pin The Tail On The Trump Supporter.”) Perhaps Pokémon Go would be a better fit. Video games will soon be added en masse, I’m sure.

Even if we are still plagued by a pandemic—or just rulers who like to exercise their power over us—there are still opportunities for holding the games while observing proper social distancing etiquette. All “athletes” from every nation taking part in the games would have to wear at least one facial mask, of course. The four new Paris sports would fit nicely into the guidelines, seeing as how they are all usually engaged in individually and at a distance. Hide and Seek could be added (see the classic Monty Python skit), with one nation’s entrant trying to avoid being found by another’s for as long as possible. That’s competitive social distancing!

And there’s always Solitaire, the iconic card game for one.

Ironically, the less autonomy and freedom we have, the more we express it alone. And remember, “Being apart helps bring us together!”

Systemic Discrimination In America

There is systemic discrimination, racism and bigotry in this country today.

It is directed against small business owners, conservatives, straight white “cis”-males, Christians, the middle class, firearm owners, traditionalists, those inhabiting flyover country, and Trump supporters. (Reverse intersectionality ensures that those who are members of more than one of these groups face increasing vitriol.) In fact, the only ones not targeted by structural, systemic discrimination and hate speech are leftist elites, certain of their favored identity groups, Antifa, and members of the Black Lives Matter movement (BLM).

Don’t believe it? Think of Affirmative Action, race-based admissions policies, IRS harassment of conservative groups and individuals, Hollywood’s near ubiquitous portrayal of white businessmen and Christians as deeply flawed or downright evil, and late-night “comedians” ceaseless (and humorless) attacks on all things Trumpian/Republican. For starters. Study after study shows that the mainstream media have presented President Trump and stories surrounding his administration in a negative light roughly 90 to 95 percent of the time…while fawning over Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama. Almost every newspaper and magazine features page after page of smears, innuendo and outright lies about Trump and his every action, while proffering glowing coverage on his political opponents.

And then there is Big Tech. The giant social media companies have made a mockery of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA), which indemnifies “platforms” from potential legal issues stemming from their content. They have eagerly utilized the benefits the act grants to those entities supposedly not censoring and discriminating content, while continually censoring and discriminating content, including that of the President of the United States, in the manner of a partisan “publisher.”

Big Tech and its founders should be embarrassed and shamed. Those that comprise it have been traitorous to their country, the system that fostered their stunning success, the ideals that they supposedly once held dear…and, ultimately, to themselves.

In the past few weeks, this bigotry culminated in the various forces of deceit, discrimination, intimidation, and marginalization coalescing in systemic fashion to steal the 2020 presidential election from President Trump and between 73 and 80+ million Americans.

Discrimination usually stems from one group of people believing they are superior in one or more respects to others. Statists, elitists, Socialists, Marxists, totalitarians—call them what you will-- believe they know how to govern a society better than anyone else. They also believe they know how to run your life better than you do. This necessarily leads them to drastically limit your freedoms while leaving themselves free to do as they please.

The Founders knew this, which is why they believed in a limited, republican form of government. The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution states: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. It is why they created the three co-equal branches of government (that Rep. Ocasio-Cortez couldn’t name), a bicameral legislature and the Electoral College.

“The Swamp” is almost unimaginably wide and deep. Those in the vast left-wing conspiracy are actively seeking to dismantle all the checks and balances the Founders put in place. Because they are impediments to their power. And, to them, that is the only thing that matters. As we have seen, time and time again, they will use intimidation, “cancellation,” discrimination, violence, looting, burning and theft to get what they desire.

They now essentially control all the major institutions in the country. When they get control of all three branches of government, it will be nearly impossible for the rest of us to regain our freedoms. We could scream “discrimination,” but they won’t care. Or we could run for our “safe spaces”…but they would probably already have mandated that we be there.

The 2020 U.S. Collegiate Debate Quarterfinals

Spingold Theater, Brandeis University

Waltham Massachusetts

Moderator: “Welcome to the 2020 U.S. National College Debate Tournament Quarterfinals! Tonight’s match pits Cornell University against Brandeis University. Cornell is represented by the Cornell Speech and Debate Union, or CSDU, Brandeis by the Brandeis Academic Debate And Speech Society, or BADASS for short. There are just the two teams, each consisting of three speakers. Each team has three constructive speeches, and three rebuttal speeches. The affirmative gives the first constructive speech, and the rebuttals alternate: negative, affirmative, negative, affirmative. Each topic will be worded as a proposition of policy requiring the affirmative to support a specified action by some particular individual or group. The opposing team will then rebut. As you can see, everyone is wearing a facial mask and is spaced six feet from their nearest team member. Let’s get started, shall we?

The first round will have Brandeis, as the home squad, taking the affirmative position, while Cornell, the visitor, will rebut. Are you ready ladies and gentlemen?”

Both teams immediately look distressed and simultaneously blurt out, “You can’t assume we are all ‘ladies and gentlemen!’ Some of us may be non-binary, two-spirited or non cis-gender! And remember to ask us about our preferred pronouns!”

Cornell’s captain: “And what about safe spaces?”

Moderator (looking sheepish): “I’m sorry, people. (Looks around to see if anyone is offended by that description.) And yes, each team has its own safe space. The separate rooms are located just to each squad’s right, and are the regulation 10’ X 12’ and have been supplied with Play-Doh, warm cookies, and an adorable puppy. May we get started now?”

Both team captain’s nod.

Moderator: “Great. First topic. RESOLVED: That, in order to protect law-abiding citizens, law enforcement agencies in the United States should be given greater freedom in the investigation and prosecution of crime.”

All members of both teams scream, plug their ears with their fingers and run for their respective safe spaces.

Moderator (crestfallen and a little surprised): “CSDU, BADASS, was it something I said? Come back out here now, please.”

The team captains holler from within their safe rooms, “No! Law enforcement is a tool of the white patriarchy to suppress and brutalize peoples of color, members of the LGBTQIIA+ community, and other marginalized peoples! We must defund the police and demolish all the prisons!”

Moderator: “All right, we’ll throw that question out. Come back out for the next question, please.”

The teams return.

Moderator: “RESOLVED: The U.S. must take steps to make sure that no future Wuhan Virus can disrupt American’s lives, destroy America’s economy and lead to the elimination of our cherished freedoms.”

All members of both teams scream, plug their ears with their fingers and run for their respective safe spaces.

Moderator (resigned): “Yes?”

The team captains holler from within their safe rooms, “It is blatant xenophobia and bigotry to label the coronavirus the ‘Wuhan Virus!’ China is a respected member of the world community. It is the U.S. that has committed countless crimes against humanity!”

Moderator: “Take your time. Next question when you are ready.”

Brandeis captain (ten minutes later): “We’re coming out now. By-the-way, we’re out of cookies.” (Both teams slowly return.)

Moderator: “Okay, we’ll toss that one, too. Next topic. RESOLVED: The U.S. federal government should ban the manufacture, sale and use of plastic straws.”

Brandeis team member: “Yes, of course. The use of plastic straws poses a threat to wildlife around the planet, imperils the world’s oceans, and many of these straws end up stuck in the noses of turtles and other marine species. It’s heartbreaking.”

Moderator: “Cornell to rebut…”

Cornell team member: “We utterly disagree. It is not enough to ban plastic straws. All plastics should be outlawed, including straws, disposable silverware, bottles, bags, bobblehead dolls, and even the little pieces that go on the ends of your shoelaces, whatever they are called. Moreover, anyone caught with any of these items should be sent to prison for life!”

Moderator: “But I thought prisons should be demolished and outlawed?”

Cornell team member: “Um, I meant that anyone caught with a plastic item should be promptly sent to a re-education camp, not a prison.”

Moderator: “Okay. Next topic. RESOLVED: The federal government should make it illegal for the National Anthem to be played at any sporting event or governmental function.”

Brandeis team member: “Yes. The National Anthem is a symbol of xenophobia, racism, misogyny and abuse of indigenous peoples. It is a pathetic anachronism in the year 2020.”

Cornell team member: “We disagree. The National Anthem is a symbol of xenophobia, racism, misogyny, abuse of indigenous peoples and a slap in the face of the LGBTQIIA+ community. We should not only ban it…but replace it, with John Lennon’s magnificent ‘Imagine.’”

Moderator: “Well said. Final topic. RESOLVED: President Donald J. Trump is an existential threat to the world, as is man-caused climate change.”

Cornell team member: “Well, duh! Of course. I mean, no serious person can dispute that.”

Brandeis team member: “Well, duh! I mean, obviously! Like, hello?! Those are just, like, scientific facts.”

Ben & Jerry's Honors Colin Kaepernick With New Ice Cream Flavor

Iconic left-wing ice cream manufacturer Ben & Jerry’s recently announced that it is releasing a new flavor in honor of former NFL quarterback-cum-activist Colin Rand Kaepernick. In a nod to Kaepernick’s veganism, the Vermont-based dairy-product dispenser issued a press release stating that the new confection is a non-dairy flavor called “Change the Whirled,” which consists of a caramel sunflower butter base with fudge chips and graham cracker and chocolate cookie swirls. An anonymous source tells me Change the Whirled beat out other flavors and names including “Whirled Peas” and “Black Chives Matter.”

The company’s statement said the new flavor "celebrates Kaepernick's courageous work to confront systemic oppression and to stop police violence against black and brown people. Ben & Jerry's believes Kaepernick represents the very best of us, willing to use his power and platform in the pursuit of equity and justice rooted in a commitment to love and resistance.” And attention and virtue-signaling. The company added, "We are so inspired by Colin Kaepernick's bold activism for racial justice that we did what we do best: We whipped up a euphoric flavor to honor his work. ... we're proud to be working with a dedicated activist like Colin Kaepernick, whose work helped spark the international conversation around racial justice."

The company forgot to add, “We are so pleased to be able to play a small part in helping to dismantle law enforcement agencies to ensure that untold millions will be left unprotected or killed, many clinging to life for long stretches of time without help or hope.”

Look for Ben & Jerry’s to honor teenaged climate change alarmist Greta Thunberg with a new product soon. And, in the coming months, they will likely release a series of delightful new frozen delectables dedicated to honoring progressive politicians and members of the Biden administration. The one dedicated to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could be called “LatinX…tacy,” or some such drivel. Elizabeth Warren’s could be corn-based and named “A-Maize-Me.” Joe Biden’s could be labeled “Chinese Melt & Rocky Road Initiative.”

If the company valued truthfulness and transparency, all of these honorific offerings would be chock full of nuts.
