Pro-Abortion California Rep. Introduces Bill To Ban "Cruel" Rodent Glue Traps

 

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA), a famously pro-abortion member of Congress with a 100% rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America, recently introduced a bill to outlaw glue traps designed to eliminate rodents…because he considers them to be “cruel” and “inhumane.” The glue traps, that is.

Lieu took to social media to lobby for the criminalization of glue traps, the use of which he deems to be “ruthless:”

              Glue traps are among the cruelest ways to eliminate rodents. They're inhumane and can be dangerous to humans and their pets. Pleased to introduce a bill today to place a national ban on glue traps.

Last year, West Hollywood, not surprisingly a city in Lieu’s home state, became the first city in the country to ban glue traps, due to their purported cruelty to rats. Speaking of rats, Congressman Adam Schiff, also a Representative from California, is an original cosponsor of Lieu’s bill. (Takes one to know one, I guess. Probably feels a certain kinship.)

Lieu also stated: “As a proud member of the Animal Protection Caucus, I’m pleased to introduce this bill to stop the needless suffering of these animals.” But he disdains pro-life folks and the pro-life movement. Go figure. (No word on if Lieu is simultaneously sponsoring a bill to legalize unfettered abortion up to the moment of birth.)

PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman was obviously deeply moved by the pro-rodent bill, stating: “PETA thanks Rep. Ted Lieu for his compassion and leadership in introducing the Glue Trap Prohibition Act of 2024.” Compassion!

Sara Amundson, president of the Humane Society Legislative Fund, was similarly thrilled with Lieu’s humanity, saying, “Glue traps are cruel, inhumane, and outdated methods of removing rodents from homes and businesses.”

But syringes, forceps, curettes, vacuums, and speculums are not cruel and inhumane ways of removing human babies from a mother’s uterus? Monstrous.

Glue traps are nowhere needed more than in Washington, D.C., which is overrun by rats…such as Lieu and Schiff.

Tone-deaf doesn’t begin to describe people who can advocate for unrestricted abortion on the one hand and a ban on glue traps for rodents on the other. This is mindboggling in its insanity. It is truly indicative of mental illness.      

It is why I occasionally write a satire piece like “P.E.T.A. Fundraiser for an Abortion Clinic” or “First Annual Fundraiser for Invasive Species Prevention and Illegal Immigration Advocacy,” both of which were penned years ago. Unfortunately, this kind of madness you can see coming.

 

Canadian Officials "Won't Stand" For Tucker Carlson's Speech

 

Officials of Canada’s Liberal Party recently had a collective cow during a meeting while discussing a Feb 24^th event in Alberta that featured a speech by Tucker Carlson.

For example, Minister of Canadian Heritage, Pascale St. Onge, stated: “What happened yesterday is completely deplorable. To have a conservative Canadian politician invite an American extreme right Tucker Carlson to come here to Canada, holding forth in a completely unacceptable way in particular with regard to their attempts to have a much more violent political climate as we see Tucker Carlson doing, for example, putting targets on Canadian politicians’ backs.” Huh?

And Randy Boissonnault, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages (MEWDOL?),   whined: “I’m here with my colleagues, Liberal Caucus members, ministers, all, to talk about what happened last night in Edmonton when the premier of the province of Alberta, Danielle Smith invited Tucker Carlson right into the heart of my riding. You can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep … I know how progressive a riding Edmonton Centre is, I’ve represented it since 2015 and for Danielle Smith to bring the mouthpiece of the MAGA conservative far right to Edmonton Center to spew hate about LGBTQ2 people is beyond the pale, it’s deplorable and we won’t stand for it.” (“Riding,” in Canadian, means electoral district, for those of you who aren’t elite Canadian minds. And the Edmonton Centre riding is apparently not as progressive as Boissonnault believes it to be, as Tucker’s event was sold out.)

Well, they both think it is “deplorable” that an allegedly conservative American was allowed to enter Canada and speak to Canadians. I mean, it’s not like Tucker is an illegal alien. If he was, he’d be welcomed into the Great White North. In fact, Carlson is part Canuck, something to which he alluded in his speech. It seems “progressives” in America and Canada are fond of smearing their political opponents as “deplorable.” Hardly seems inclusive…or even tolerant. The nerve of a conservative Canadian politician inviting a conservative American to come to her province and speak to conservatives! Especially in “a completely unacceptable way!” Their oughta be a law!

I watched and listened to the entirety of Tucker’s short speech. Twice. He never once advocated violence or put “a target” on any Canadian politician’s back, liberal or otherwise. And he certainly didn’t spew hatred of “LGBTQ2” people. He did mock Prime Minister Trudeau and suggest that Canadians start objecting to government policies that overtly mock—and punish—them. That is as mild-- and sane-- as it gets.

These ministers saying they “won’t stand for it,” however, do sound threatening. They won’t stand for free speech? What are they going to do about it? What are they going to do to the conservative Canadian politician, Danielle Smith, and/or to Tucker now that the event is over?

If these pathetically intolerant “liberal” thugs “won’t stand” for free speech and dissenting opinion they should not be able to “sit” in parliament.

 

Sports Journal Perfectly Illustrates How To Snatch Defeat From The Jaws Of Victory

 

Sports Illustrated, a once iconic magazine and nearly 70-year-old media brand, recently announced plans to lay off most or all of its staff.

“S.I.” was famous for its outstanding writers and its special editions, most noteworthy of which was its annual “Swimsuit Edition.” Once flush with subscribers, things started to go downhill when it was sold off from Time in 2018. Purchased by a consortium, it has been on increasingly dicey footing ever since, its decline spurred on by its ever more political and “progressive” tone. The weekly publication became bi-weekly, then monthly. And now…?

How can this happen, you might ask, at a time when sports have never been more popular, prevalent, and lucrative? Several reasons, all related. S.I.’s publishers chose to afflict the magazine with a litany of “progressive” actions. The sporting journal started pushing a “woke” agenda. It seemed to increasingly value symbolism over substance, diversity over veracity, inclusion over merit. It scoffed at “toxic masculinity” and mocked traditional values. All of this was evidenced in the pathetic changes to the formerly wildly successful Swimsuit Issue. Soon the likes of Elle Macpherson, Kathy Ireland, Kate Upton, Tyra Banks, and Cheryl Tiegs were joined by “plus-sized” models, octogenarians…and eventually men posing as women.

Finally, late last year, reports surfaced that many recent stories in Sports Illustrated were AI-generated, though the magazine posted them with bylines to make it appear as if they were penned by actual writers.

That’s how you destroy an American icon and a journal of excellence in one generation. And it’s a microcosm of what’s been happening to America at large.     

 

Poll Finds Elites Want Strict Rationing Of Gas, Meat, Electricity, Freedom

 

According to a new poll, recently released, nearly 90 percent of Ivy League grads support the “strict” rationing of gas, meat and electricity to fight climate change. 90%! “Strict rationing!”

The poll, conducted by the Committee to Unleash Prosperity and titled “Them vs. U.S.: The two Americas and how the nation’s elite is out of touch with average Americans,” was intended to assess the beliefs of “elites.” According to the College Fix, the poll was comprised of two surveys of 1,000 folks each conducted in late 2023, and elites were defined as “people having at least one post-graduate degree, earning at least $150,000 annually, and living in high-population density areas.”

The Committee to Unleash Prosperity (CUP) found that, “An astonishing 77% of the Elites – including almost 90% of the Elites who graduated from the top universities – favor rationing of energy, gas, and meat to combat climate change.” This is starkly at odds with the will of all Americans, 63% of whom oppose this policy. It is shameful and embarrassing that so many “elite” Americans have drunk the Kool-Aid-- and bent the knee at the altar of progressivism. These are folks that would be more at home attending the World Economic Forum in Davos than a country music concert in Des Moines. And would then fly back to the U.S. to snob the rest of us and bitch about the carbon footprints of lawnmowers and farmers.

Incredibly, CUP also found that nearly six in 10 “elites” say there is too much individual freedom in America. Are these so-called elites talking about the freedom to attend preposterously expensive indoctrination centers-- mostly courtesy of dad, mom, and taxpayers-- so that, upon graduation, they can spew anti-American inanities into the ether? Or are they talking about the freedom to proclaim oneself a member of the opposite sex? Perhaps they are Speaking of the freedom to end the nascent life in one’s womb for one’s personal convenience?

Doubtful. It is much more likely they are speaking of the freedom to disagree with them, freely assemble, and defend one’s self and one’s family. These are the freedoms which citizens have historically had in the United States, and which they believe others should no longer possess. This makes them budding totalitarians. And asshats of the first order.

Strict rationing of gasoline, meat, and electricity? Fewer individual freedoms? Okay, let’s start with them—the elites-- and see how it goes. If they swear off gasoline, meat and electricity—and their personal freedoms—and actually follow through with it, at least they wouldn’t be the monstrous hypocrites they have nearly always been proven to be.

But they would still be intolerant, ignorant, and un-American.

While we’re waiting to see if the elites volunteer to sacrifice their freedoms first, the rest of us can take our SUVs to the local butcher shop to get burgers and steaks to cook on our electric (or gas) stoves.

*Non-viable tissue mass: any human or other being that does not agree with Democrats and/or threatens their power.

Feds Press Banks To Turn In Customers Who May Be Trump Supporters, Outdoor Enthusiasts

 

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) recently revealed that federal investigators asked financial institutions to dig through customer data using search terms such as “TRUMP” and “MAGA” in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

According to the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, the request to rifle though customers’ private information came from the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, or “FinCen.” It’s never a good sign when your government, while purporting to look for a crime to prosecute, commits one (or more) itself. It’s even worse when it does so by trampling on citizens’ Constitutionally protected rights.

Jordan also claimed that FinCen, in passing along its analysis of alleged “Lone Actor/Homegrown Violent Extremism Indicators,” cautioned financial institutions to look for purchases such as “bus tickets, rental cars, or plane tickets, for travel to areas with no apparent purpose” or “the purchase of books (including religious texts) and subscriptions to other media containing extremist views.” Covering all bases, FinCen also instructed the financial institutions to look for terms like “Small Arms,” “Cabela’s,” “Gander Outdoors,” and “Dick’s Sporting Goods,” among many others.

So much for privacy, and, as Jordan noted, “protected political and religious expression.”

Plan to vote for President Trump in the upcoming presidential election? The feds could be combing through your finances, you potential Lone Actor/Homegrown Violent Extremist! And you better pray you didn’t purchase a Bible recently…or there might well be hell to pay!

Bought anything at Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops, Gander Outdoors, or Fleet Farm lately? You just might be a terrorist! Like to hunt? Terrorist! Like shooting sports? Terrorist! Have a camper? Feds Remind Us That Humor Isn't A Laughing Matter

 

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) wants to remind all of us that government is a serious business. Even as the good folks at the FHWA wrestle with racist roadways, they are cracking down on the use of humor on electronic “variable message” traffic signs, or VMSs. The signs, used to convey information about accidents, special events, traffic congestion, roadwork, etc., have occasionally been used to convey this information in a funny, clever, pun-laden, or otherwise unique and light-hearted way, perhaps making travelers smile instead of snarl.

No longer. The FHWA has told officials that these kinds of messages must cease altogether within two years. The Wall Street Journal reports:  In December, the Federal Highway Administration, an agency within the U.S. Department of Transportation, issued new guidance on traffic-safety messages: Signs should avoid language that uses pop-culture references or humor.

Why? Because the feds say funny signs can distract drivers.

So, a sign saying, “Reckless Drivers Are Worse Than Fruitcake” is more dangerous than a sign stating, “Drive Carefully?” Really? Or is it more memorable and effective?

Ironically, Progressives are the new Puritans. We’re not going “back to the future,” we are going “forward to the past.”

So, remember, jokes are not a laughing matter-- and humor isn’t funny!

FAA To Hire Individuals With Intellectual, Vision Disabilities

 

And you thought flying the friendly skies was already fraught with stress and danger? Just wait!

In keeping with a new DEI initiative, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is actively recruiting workers who suffer from “severe intellectual” disabilities, psychiatric disorders, and various other mental and physical conditions. The FAA’s website states: “Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the Federal government, as a matter of policy, has identified for special emphasis in recruitment and hiring. They include hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability, and dwarfism.”

Vision?! Remind me to take the bus the train my own vehicle whenever I need to travel anywhere.

The website also avers, “diversity is integral to achieving FAA’s mission of ensuring safe and efficient travel across our nation and beyond.” No, diversity is integral to achieving FAA’s mission of meeting self-imposed diversity requirements. Nothing against those with physical or mental impediments and challenges, but there is no possible way that, say, air-traffic controllers with severe intellectual disabilities, complete paralysis, and hearing and vision impairments will foster safe and efficient travel…anywhere.

Will the Army soon be recruiting those without legs-- and with limited vision-- for its infantry battalions in an effort to achieve its core mission of defeating our enemies on the battlefield? Will mentally ill folks bring stability and cohesion to the ranks—and the foxholes?

Similarly, will pro sports teams begin hiring those suffering from missing limbs, partial paralysis, dwarfism, and multiple personality disorders to increase their odds of winning championships?

Will we let DEI completely supplant competence and capability as the most favored measure of all things?

If so, perhaps we are all suffering from severe intellectual and psychiatric disabilities.

 

Virginia Official Sworn-In On Metallica Album

 

Daniel “Danica” Roem, who became the first “transgender” state representative in U.S. history last November, utilized a recent interview to note his intention to be sworn into the Virginia Senate with his hand on a heavy metal album rather than the Bible, as is a long-standing tradition.

Roem, a male Democrat who identifies as a woman, defeated incumbent Republican Bob Marshall for his seat in the Virginia House of Delegates in 2017. Then, last fall, Roem won his race to move on to the state Senate.  

In the aforementioned interview, recently published by LGBTQ Nation, Roem stated that he would be getting sworn in on a 1988 vinyl copy of his favorite Metallica album, And Justice For All. Daniel Danica seems to have taken his her oath to get sworn in on the Metallica album far more seriously than he she took the Oath of Office itself.

Roem has been sworn in, though no details about the ceremony have been forthcoming. While it is not mandatory under Virginia law to be sworn in on a Bible, it has been customary to do so for most of the state’s existence.

Roem’s stunt is illustrative of the lack of faith and reverence that has taken hold amongst younger, increasingly non-traditional Americans. Transgenderism is itself simultaneously hyper-fashionable and a rejection of God’s will. And there also seems to be a trend building of elected officials being sworn into office on things other than a Bible.

There is a reason why Bible’s have historically been used to swear people into office. It is because it has been thought that most folks would be more likely to keep a promise, or oath, if that promise is effectively made to God, rather than to a human or group thereof. You know, the Ten Commandments, Heaven and Hell, etc. Hence the phrase, meant to get at the truth, “Do you swear on a stack of Bibles?”

But, what the Hell, the times they are a-changin’. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib were sworn in on Qurans. I’m sure that soon we will see officials sworn in on National Geographics, Playboy magazines, the Epstein files, a box of Tide, or a stack of Archie comic books, amongst other materials. Swear your fealty to God, the American people, your office, the Constitution, or Betty and/or Veronica. It doesn’t really matter much anymore, does it?

 

CBS Reporter Wonders Whether Humans Should "Cease To Exist"

 

CBS political reporter Kathryn Watson (@kathrynw5) took to ‘X’ to wonder whether it would be a “bad” thing if humans became extinct. She tweeted posted:

Why do people work so hard just to continue the human race in apocalypse movies when the world is falling apart? Is it really all that bad if we as a species cease to exist?

Alright, Kathryn, why don’t you put your money where your mouth is? Lead by example and go extinct first. The rest of us will join you. Promise.

If directly queried, leftists/progressives typically claim not to hate humans, per se. “Gosh, no! Perish the thought. That’s silly. What would make you say that?” they ask.

Well, let’s see: your love of unfettered abortion and medically assisted dying, perhaps? Or maybe the fact that you are strongly supportive of transgender procedures that render the patient permanently sterile, wish to shut down the farms that feed people, and think the best thing for the planet—and weather—would be for there to be far fewer humans. Or, apparently, none.

Ms. Watson is not alone in her beliefs. Some in academia also favor the demise of homo sapiens.

If a tree falls in a forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

If oceans roar, brooks babble, wolves howl, birds sing, seasons change—and climate, too-- and no human is around to perceive it, did any of these things really happen? And does it matter?

Illegal Aliens Being Hired As Cops In Some States?

 

According to PJ Media, Chicago and Hawaii have recently been hiring illegal immigrants and/or non-citizens with work visas as police officers. The same report claimed that Colorado, California, and Illinois are also looking into hiring illegal immigrants/non-citizens to fill police vacancies created by the very progressive attitudes and policies that created the vacancies in the first place.

Does it make sense to hire law-enforcement officers from a pool of people whose first act upon entering America was breaking the law?

Will Navy SEALS soon exclusively recruit flighty, ignorant, transgendered, anti-war, teetotalling vegans into their ranks? Will Catholic churches strive to hire Church of Satan members to fill open priest positions? Will fire departments seek out serial arsonists to join their houses?

What do Chicago, Hawaii, Colorado, California, and Illinois have in common? That’s right, they are all run by Democrats.

Democrats disdain the police but love illegal aliens/undocumented immigrants. This should be an interesting experiment to say the least.

 

Canadian Police Warn Citizens Not To Violate Porch Pirates' Privacy. Seriously.

 

According to various online reports, police in the Canadian province of Quebec recently warned citizens not to post surveillance footage of their packages being stolen from their porches, etc., because it could violate the “private life” of the perpetrator/thief.

This despite the fact that the trespasser has violated the victim’s private life—and property—in a likely attempt to commit another crime by stealing merchandise that others have bought and paid for.

This is sadly, but perfectly, illustrative of the bass-ackward world in which we now reside. Officials don’t see anything wrong with violating law-abiding citizens’ rights by, say, listening in on their phone calls or having them frisked and x-rayed before allowing them to board a plane. The alphabet agencies in thrall to the Biden administration didn’t hesitate to imprison—even without charge—numerous American citizens who had the audacity to parade through, or outside of, the “People’s house,” i.e. the Capitol building. Federal, state, and local police and officials have seemingly put up cameras at every intersection. Multiple cameras abound in every store-- and on bridges, poles and posts and other structures. Seemingly everyone is photographed and recorded nearly everywhere.

But, by God, be aware that it is beyond the pale to violate the privacy of perps who have violated your private property on the way to stealing your belongings!

This is no small thing. As Thomas Mann noted, “Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil.”

Whoopi Goldberg Says Trump Would "Disappear" Gays And Journalists

 

“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg recently warned her fellow co-hosts-- and the audience-- that failing to vote for President Biden would be equivalent to voting for former President Donald Trump to round up journalists and gay people. Whoopi claimed Trump would essentially tell them: “I’m going to take all the journalists, I’m going to take all the gay folks, and I’ll move you all around and disappear you.” Talk about a crazy conspiracy theory! Maybe aliens got to her.

We know this is fake news, misinformation. How? Because Trump has already been president for four years and didn’t do any of that. In fact, he appointed Richard Grennell acting director of national intelligence, a cabinet-level position, making Grennell the highest ranking openly gay government official in U.S. history. Nor did he “disappear” any journalists. Not a single one.

Ironically, it seems nearly every leftist and journalist—but I repeat myself—has tried to get rid of Trump… and his supporters. And are still trying to do so.

So, Whoopi, please go take a long walk off a short pier… or otherwise disappear yourself. And take your cohosts with you.

In Praise Of Merit

And we’ve all seen how that has worked out. For all of us. Around the world.

If it wasn't for merit, we wouldn't have the music of Beethoven and Bach, or, for that matter, of Fleetwood Mac and The Rolling Stones. If it wasn't for merit, participating in or watching sports would be an exercise in…watching people exercise. An exercise in futility. If it wasn't for merit, and the relentless pursuit of excellence, we would not have any of the great works of art……or any of the life-changing inventions of the 20th century. Electricity, the light bulb, indoor plumbing and flush toilets. Radio, television, the internet, smart phones. Were it not for merit, we may still be having our teeth pulled while chomping on a towel after imbibing several ounces of whiskey. Were it not for merit, our bridges and skyscrapers wouldn't stand, our trains would derail, our planes fall from the sky.

If not for merit, there would be no light... and no hope.

The emphasis on DEI and equity over competence, merit, and excellence is an existential danger to society. That is not hyperbole.

In summation, the respect for merit is vital to the human condition. Worshipping sloth-- or even mediocrity--and valuing equity above all would be the death knell of civilization.

*According to The Free Press, a public elementary school in Brooklyn, New York, has erased Israel  from a map in one of its classrooms. On the map, of the Arab World, Israel is labeled “Palestine.” From the river to the sea, you know. At this rate, it won’t be long until maps in our public schools omit or rename the United States.

*Washington state Democratic state Reps. My-Linh Thai and Liz Berry have introduced House Bill 2238 imposing an additional 11 percent tax on (already highly taxed) ammunition. The bill also describes the purchase of ammunition as a "privilege.” HB 2238 notes that “nearly half” of all suicides in the state are from firearms. Which would mean that more than half aren’t. If owning ammunition is a “privilege,” and one that lawmakers are trying to make unobtainable for many, our Second Amendment rights are rendered moot.

*Oregon's Supreme Court recently said that it would not hear a challenge from five voters seeking to keep former President Donald Trump off the state's 2024 Republican primary and general election ballots. Five voters?!

*Assisted suicide is legal across Australia. Now, the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) is considering expanding “voluntary assisted dying,” or VAD. Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2023 was recently published and will almost certainly pass in 2024-- and would potentially extend to children under 18. So, what’s the big deal? I mean, it’s really just very late term abortion, right?

*Maine has begun paying rent for homeless immigrants living in apartments located in the town of Brunswick. The Pine Tree State has already budgeted nearly $3.5 million to provide 60 migrant families in Brunswick with two years of rent. Free rent, free healthcare, etc. And when we say “Maine,” we mean its taxpayers, of course. Bet they’re thrilled. Taxation without representation?

*A transgender professor reportedly recently provided “cultural inclusion” training to Internal Revenue Service criminal investigators. Judicial Watch noted that agents from the specialized IRS Criminal Investigation (IRSCI) unit were asked if they could “deliver cultural inclusion behaviorally.” Cultural inclusion? Rest assured that the IRS plans on taxing transgendered folk just as it does everyone else.

*A history teacher at a Seattle high school allegedly recently told students that identifying as "straight" is offensive, according to a parent who filed a complaint with school officials. The mother, who requested anonymity, provided a copy of a "Social Identity Wheel" worksheet the teacher assigned to his 10^th-grade class to “The Jason Rantz Show” on KTTH. The worksheet asks students to self-reflect on their various identities, including race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, gender, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, first language, age, religious or spiritual affiliation, and physical, emotional, developmental disability. The parent said her 15-year-old son then labeled himself "straight,” at which point the teacher allegedly told the boy that he needed to pick a term that was less offensive. That is offensive. Talk about “hate speech!” If true, the teacher should be fired immediately. Or should I say, “straight away.”

                         

 

 

 

Jan. 6 An FBI Affair

 

According to Steven D’Antuono, formerly in charge of the FBI’s Washington field office, there were so many paid informants of the FBI at the infamous Jan. 6 Capitol protest the bureau itself lost count of them-- and had to perform an audit to determine exactly how many “Confidential Human Sources” run by the organization’s various field offices were present that day. More recently, some reports indicate that there were at least 200 federal agents or “undercover assets” present on that fateful day.

It appears ever more likely that actual Trump supporters and patriots were baited and led into a trap.

As someone once said, turnabout is fair play. Perhaps Trump supporters/MAGA types and other patriots should dress up as Antifa and BLM members and start burning down buildings and looting stores. On second thought, that won’t work. Recent history shows that no one cares. More to the point, the vast majority of Trump supporters couldn’t bring themselves to do these things, anyway.

Or maybe they could ditch the MAGA hats and American flags and dress up as Democrats and go around the country—indeed the world—proclaiming their disdain for the United States, its founding, and the rubes in flyover country. Oh, wait. Actual Democrats already do that on a regular basis.

Is this what we’ve come to? Is everything we are allowed to see a hoax?

The answer to both questions seems to be an unequivocal “yes.”

If this is indeed the case, how can we proceed as a functional society?

“Jan. 6” wasn’t an “insurrection.” Far from it. Nor has Trump been charged with inciting one. It was the nearly inevitable result of a citizenry that had been mocked, demeaned and suppressed-- and who had reason to believe their votes had been rendered moot…or worse.

If those in power continue to use the full breadth and depth of the government they control to harass, stymie, and imprison their political opponents, we will not be a functioning society much longer. The republic will be lost. The Shining City on a Hill will have slid down into the vast, fetid Swamp…to be devoured ‘fundamentally transformed.’ Forever.

 

President Biden's Top Priority For A Second Term? Abortion

 

What would President Biden’s top priority be should he be awarded a second term in office? Well, according to his campaign manager, the president is “adamant” to “restore Roe.” Yup. Quentin Fulks, Biden’s principal deputy campaign manager, recently told Kristen Welker, host of NBC’s Meet the Press, that abortion would be the commander-in-chief’s “top priority” if he is returned to the White House. 

Frankly, that surprises me. I would’ve thought his top priority would be to continue trying to lock up his political opponents. Or to stay up past 8 PM.

Even if you are pro-choice, making abortion the “top priority” is macabre at best. How about stopping the flood of illegals coming across our southern border…and the fentanyl and human trafficking that a porous border allows? After all, fentanyl alone kills 100,000+ Americans each year. How about trying to prevent or curtail foreign wars? Or attempting to reduce inflation and taxes to make life more affordable and pleasant for millions? How about addressing the unsustainable and soon-to-be devastating $34 trillion debt? Or the fact that China is bidding to take over the world?

Nope. Gotta make sure everyone has unfettered access and ability to kill their babies!

What a platform Democrats will have for 2024!:

*Make unrestricted abortion the law of the land (Make Abortion Great Again!)

*Pack the court

*Eliminate the Electoral College

*Eliminate the filibuster

*Statehood for the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico

*Work towards the elimination of fossil fuels…and gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment

*Provide more money for teachers’ unions

*Provide more money for mainstream media outlets

*Progress towards making “15-minute cities” a reality across the United States

*Significantly raise taxes on ammunition so as to make it unaffordable for all but wealthy Democrat donors…thereby rendering guns—and the First Amendment—moot.

*Make mail-in voting a permanent fixture in every state for every election

*Lower the voting age to 16

All of this in the name of “saving our democracy,” of course.

 

 

 

 

 

Democrats "Weaponizing" "Weaponizing" Against Republicans

 

After an improbable-- okay, nearly interminable-- amount of time, (former) Harvard President Claudine Gay resigned her post recently after an almost overwhelming amount of scholarly misconduct came to light. In recent days, Gay has been credibly accused of turning a blind eye to anti-Semitism… and of multiple accounts of plagiarism.

This prompted the always unbiased AP to run an article entitled, "Harvard president's resignation highlights new conservative weapon against colleges: plagiarism.” The same headline graced a corresponding post in ‘X.’

So, Democrats, at least the ones working for the Associated Press, are claiming that Republicans somehow “weaponized” plagiarism charges against Harvard’s Claudine Gay, who was recently removed as president of the formerly elite institution? (Though she is reportedly still a professor at the Ivy League’s most infamous famous Indoctrination Center, and an extremely well paid one at that.)

Later in the day, after being subject to some well-earned mockery, the AP changed the title to "Plagiarism charges downed Harvard's president. A conservative attack helped to fan the outrage." A conservative “attack?”

Democrats now claim Republicans are “weaponizing” virtually everything against them. Quite the opposite is the case. Democrats have succeeded in “weaponizing” the (open) border, illegal immigrants-- and indeed the entire federal government-- against Republicans, conservatives, MAGA types, and the bulk of American citizens.

Why is there no talk of Democrats “weaponizing” the Watergate break-in against Nixon and Republicans?

And how can it be that no one is responsible for their bad-- or even criminal-- behavior, and that pointing out serial egregious actions is “weaponizing” those behaviors and actions against those who committed them? Democrats, and their soulless sycophants in the media, have actually complained that Republicans “weaponized” Hunter Biden’s laptop against him. Pretty sure he did that himself.

Yet, the demonstrable truth is Democrats coerced Big Tech and other media into weaponizing their own coverage—or lack thereof-- against Republicans.

Incredibly, Democrats have weaponized crime, not against criminals but against law abiding citizens. Moreover, they are-- in an almost literal sense—in the process of weaponizing the 2nd amendment against Americans by dismissing their right to bear arms and protect themselves.

And they certainly weaponized Jan. 6-- against any Trump supporter who was in the vicinity of the Capitol that day, and/or was wearing a red hat. Many of whom are still languishing in dank jail cells.

 

The Abolition Of Man

 

C.S. Lewis famously wrote of “The Abolition of Man.” He did so in an attempt to illustrate what happens when we no longer believe in the divine spark that makes us human, in the ability to reason, in the existence of truth—and in the ability to determine right from wrong. And in the idea that humans are fallen by their nature and therefore imperfectible.

All of which is being almost perfectly illustrated/demonstrated today.

On so many levels. More, likely, than even Lewis anticipated.

We are witnessing the deliberate attempted destruction of the Christian religion at the hands of leftists. We are in the throes of an almost total destruction of our “higher education” system, with universities “fundamentally transformed” into stupefyingly illiberal indoctrination centers preaching nihilism and hatred of America and everything for which she once stood. We are in the throes of a sometimes violent revolution against God and nature, one in which young people’s genitalia is being mutilated and discarded as if it were nothing but a cancer to be removed. We are witnessing an unprecedented attack on the very idea and essence of man, as clearly shown by the nearly ubiquitous attack on “toxic masculinity.” Moreover, all too soon, mankind may be subjected to—and subjugated by—“pseudo man,” or artificial intelligence.

There are even those who say that every breath humans take contributes to the scourge of global warming. Obviously, implicit in that notion is the idea that the fewer humans the better…at least for the planet. In this case, the honorable thing to do would be to end one’s own life, a concept quite at odds with Genesis.

So we are potentially on the cusp of the spiritual abolition of man, the intellectual abolition of man, the hormonal/physical abolition of man, the figurative abolition of man, and the technological abolition of man.

And, if the extreme progressives get their way, potentially the actual abolition of man.

Or at least of those who don’t willingly and fully submit to the rest of “progressives’” radical, anti-human agenda.

 

Costco To Soon Require I.D.s To Be Scanned Prior To Entering Stores

 

According to reports, Costco shoppers may soon be required to scan their membership cards before entering any of the retail giant’s warehouse outlets……instead of simply holding their cards up to a marginally attentive employee as they enter the stores. 

It appears a machine will be placed at the stores’ entrances, to be operated by an assumedly more focused Costco employee. A recent post on Reddit purported to show a picture of a shopper scanning his card while a Costco employee looks on. Below the scanner, a sign can be seen, stating: "You will be asked to scan your membership card before entering the warehouse."

One must present—and scan—a picture I.D. to enter? No more “undocumented shoppers,” I guess.

It’s literally going to be harder to enter a Costco than to cross our southern border and enter the United States.

Good for Costco.

Reporters Dead, Arrested, Berated By Authoritarian Regimes Home And Abroad

 

A Russian journalist who recently threatened to reveal allegedly large-scale corruption involving Russian President Vladimir Putin’s forces in occupied Ukraine has been found dead. (Remarkably, reports indicate he did not fall out a window.)

In entirely unrelated news, David Menzies, a reporter for Canada’s conservative Rebel News Network, was recently arrested for asking Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland why Trudeau’s government refuses to label Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IGRC) a terrorist organization. A now viral video of the event, posted by Rebel News head Ezra Levant, shows Menzies strolling down a public sidewalk, keeping pace with the Deputy Prime Minister, when a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) stands in his way and begins to arrest Menzies, claiming that he “assaulted” him, an apparently bogus charge. But, what the hell, Menzies had it coming! I mean, asking a member of the royal government a question which Freeland obviously preferred not to answer…or even hear posed! (“Freeland?” No that’s ironic.)

Meanwhile, also entirely unrelated to be sure, members of U.S. President Joe Biden's campaign team have been trying to coordinate media coverage and amplify their preferred narratives while simultaneously berating reporters for "what they're getting wrong." In fact, Biden himself recently admonished reporters…and instructed them to start reporting things “the right way.” (If they know what’s good for them, apparently.)

According to Semafor, these "off-the-record trips for top political reporters and editors" to Biden’s campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, are being conducted so as to review media coverage and ‘correct’ what the campaign believes they're getting wrong.

Look at the bright side: unlike in Russia, journalists are only being cancelled, threatened or arrested by authoritarian governments in Canada and the United States! Surely radical leftist governments led by the likes of Trudeau and Biden won’t go any further in their attempts to intimidate an already mostly compliant press in North America. Right? And surely a once supposedly free and unbiased press wouldn’t put up with any more attempts by these regimes to shape what—and how-- they report. Correct?

Just kidding! We all know the answer to those questions, though some may not wish to admit it.

Democracy doesn’t “Die in Darkness.” It is simply effectively snuffed out by those beholden to those in power-- or too craven to resist them…even in the light of day.

Democrats Against Democracy

 

“Democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude.” So said Alexis de Tocqueville.

Ironically, Democrats have never been big supporters of equality in liberty, despite the fact that Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson enshrined “all men are created equal” in the Declaration of Independence. Slavery and the Civil War proved that early on, beyond a shadow of a doubt. Since then, Democrats have only drifted farther away from the founders’ concepts of freedom based on natural law and inalienable rights…and closer to Socialists’/Marxists’/Leninists’/Communisms’ unstated desire to achieve equity by having everyone be equally miserable, impoverished, and enslaved.

Okay, this may not be the desire, unstated or otherwise, for some young, naïve, ignorant types. It is however, always the reality. And it doesn’t matter who is in charge, the system simply cannot work because it is completely at odds with human nature.

Most of today’s Democrats, moving inexorably towards all-out Communism, economically and culturally, are either too stupid to internalize this…or too power hungry to care. After all, if you can successfully exploit the ignorance of others for your own gain, your own power, the ends justify the means, right?

This explains why they will lie, cheat, threaten, silence, gaslight……and attempt to imprison their political opponents, even as they speak of preserving “our democracy.”

Gen Z Suffering From Menu Anxiety

 

Incredibly, a new study conducted by British restaurant chain Prezzo found that an overwhelming majority of adults aged 18 to 24 suffer from “menu anxiety” when eating in a public restaurant. When researchers asked more than 2,000 Gen Zers how relaxed they felt while eating out, approximately 86% admitted they have suffered from menu anxiety. Worse, 34% of these young adults said they become so tense and angst-ridden that they ask other people at the table to speak to waiters on their behalf. And worse yet, fully 40% of Gen Z eaters surveyed report getting so worked up that they won’t go out to dinner if they can’t check the restaurant’s menu first.

The distressed diners were made so by a number of factors, among them the increasingly high cost of a meal out, a concern that they will not be able to find something they like on the menu, and the fear of regretting what they ordered (FORWTO?).

You’ve gotta be kidding me! Okay, the concern over high prices is understandable in some situations, but the other fears are preposterous—and both terrifying and sad. If the young ones are consumed with fear that they won’t find a menu item that thrills them, or are frozen by the apprehension that they may realize they made the “wrong” choice after the fact, Britain and the West have no future. If a society becomes that indecisive, timid, and soft, it is drawing its last collective breaths. “Oh, sh*t, I really should have ordered the California Burger, not the Juicy Lucy! What am I to do now?!”

How the hell will these folks fare when it comes to buying a car or a house? I know, if current trends continue, many probably won’t. (Another problem?) What about when it comes time to vote? Oddly enough, if recent statistics are any guide, they don’t seem to have any trouble selecting Democrats from the voting ballot. (Also a problem.) I wish they did.

Perhaps restaurants, whatever their genre’, should offer a “Gen Z” menu as well as a kids’ menu. Suggestion: limit the choices! Perhaps to:  1) PB&J 2) Mac & Cheese 3) Warm Milk & Cookies.

On second thought, maybe just the kids’ menu would suffice.
