A father is
seeking the legal ‘right’ to marry his adopted son. Nothing creepy there. Back
in 2012, the Washington, D.C. area men, a retired teacher and his long time
‘partner,’ didn’t expect gay marriage to be legalized in the foreseeable
future, so they chose the' best available option.' The retired teacher,
75-years-old at the time, ‘adopted’ his then 65-year-old mate. Apparently,
according to a CNN report, many gay
couples used adoption laws as a way to gain legal
‘family’ ties in order to obtain benefits.
A little legal slight-of-hand
there. “Well, if we can’t get married, I’ll make you legally my son. Then we
can get some benefits and continue to have sex!” The law doesn’t frown upon
this?
Predictably,
the ‘couple’ is now trying to reverse the adoption in order to get married, but
a cold-hearted state court judge has rejected that request stating that
adoption annulments are generally limited to cases of fraud. Nothing fraudulent
here. “I don’t want this bozo as my son anymore. Hell, he’s only ten years
younger than I am! Grant this annulment so I can marry him, please."
“[The
adoption] gave us the most legitimate
thing available to us,” the 68-year-old ‘son’ of the 78-year-old said. There's nothing 'legitimate' about this.
The
ACLU also claims that many couples across the U.S. took advantage of
adoption laws as a way to legally become ‘family,’ but now that same-sex
marriage has, by judicial fiat, been declared legal throughout the land, these
same couples seeking marriage licenses are running into trouble.
“We realized we could have a complete union, which is what
we want,” said the 78-year-old of his plan to get the adoption of his
68-year-old son/lover annulled.
But Judge
Lawrence J. O’Toole (Cruella DeVille?), of the Court of Common (more like
unnatural in this case) Pleas of Allegheny County, denied the couple’s request
saying that he was “sensitive to the situation” but that they cannot marry
“because they are legally father and son.” So what? A technicality at best! No
one cares about anything but
‘inclusiveness’ now. I mean we're past the Obergefell Decision now, anything goes! Boos and hisses directed at Judge O’Toole, the anti-love
Judge!
“The
ACLU is hopeful that the Superior Court will apply established legal principles
to allow annulment of adoptions by same-sex couples so that they can finally
partake of their constitutional right to
marry,” the Legal Director of ACLU
Pennsylvania, told CNN. Could anyone have imagined this scenario just 10 or 15 years ago?
“Son?”
“Yes,
father?”
“I
want to disown you.”
“Okay,
dad.”
“But
only so I can legally marry you and make you my wife bitch
partner!”
“Aww,
that’s so sweet, dad-no-more! I’m the luckiest son of a bitch in the world!”
