Homeland Insecurity

It appears that the Obama administration is attempting to rapidly import as many illegal aliens as possible prior to this fall’s presidential election. According to the Washington Examiner, “in a shocking reversal of policy, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents are being told to release illegal immigrants and no longer order them to appear at deportation hearings,” essentially handing them a license to stay in the United States, a key agent testified Thursday.
According to the same report, the order to “stand down” also includes a requirement that the whereabouts of illegal immigrants released are not to be tracked."We might as well abolish our immigration laws altogether,” suggested agent Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council.
Moreover, the Texas Tribune reported (on February 1st) that the Department of Homeland Security plans to cut aerial surveillance of the Texas-Mexico border region by 50% in 2016. This is especially remarkable given the recent surge of “undocumented” immigrants- particularly children- pouring across the border.
The popularity of Donald Trump and Ted Cruz reflects the mood of American citizens who are fed up with massive illegal immigration and the myriad problems it causes. Polls consistently show a large majority of Americans and even a substantial number of Democratic voters want our borders sealed and a return to an orderly process of vetted, legal immigration.

This is just another example of a president ignoring the people and attempting to damage the nation he leads by ensuring that no one who holds views opposed to his will ever again occupy the White House.
