Current Events And The Politics Of Gun Control

President Obama again wants to use the latest terror attacks, this time in San Bernardino, California, to weaken the Second Amendment. You can be sure that, if he thought he could get away with it, he would do away with the most vital of Amendment’s by executive fiat/decree. Some in the mainstream media have said that guns are the one constant in all the recent terror attacks, but that is patently untrue.
The one constant is Islam. Radical Islamists using car-bombs, I.E.D.’s, machine guns, pipe-bombs... or knives and machetes for their signature beheadings.
Look at the history of American gun ownership. When nearly everyone was armed in our formative years….there were no mass shootings of innocents, other than at Lexington and Concord. We could not have won the Revolutionary War and thrown off tyrannical government if nearly every able-bodied male didn’t own a firearm. Period. One had to have a firearm to protect oneself and one’s family from wild animals and others who would do them harm, as well as to put food on the table, of course. In frontier times and on into the early twentieth century in rural areas, some kids brought their guns to school! That’s a fact.  The result? No school shootings, no terrorism.
In more modern times, the enacting of conceal-carry laws in some states has had a dramatic affect on crime, just not the affect that liberals- predictably- predicted.
In 1993, there were seven homicides by firearm for every 100,000 Americans. By 2013, that figure had fallen by nearly half, to 3.6 per 100,000. This decline directly correlated with an enormous increase in privately owned firearms over the same period of time and the related increase in the granting of concealed-carry permits to law-abiding citizens.
Liberals are always keen to know why people do bad things or why bad things “happen.” In this case, there are reasons. (Liberals default position is that anyone who is successful or makes money or is in any way in a majority is the reason for others committing terroristic, evil acts. This couldn’t be farther from the truth).
These horrible atrocities are occurring so frequently now because of, 1) the rise of radical Islam, 2) the rapid coarsening of our culture, with violence and depravity as entertainment pervading our television and movies, internet and video ‘games,’ 3) the similarly rapid decline in the numbers of those who are practicing Christianity and 4) the feminization and infantilization of our culture, leading to large numbers of people who no longer even believe in fighting for their own cultures' survival, and are willing to accommodate evil, if by doing so the heady light of intellectual and moral martyrdom shines  upon them.
