The drone strike that ended the earthly tenure of Iranian
general and über-terrorist Qassem Soleimani did not sit well with former NFL
quarterback and current anti-American spokesperson Colin R. Kaepernick. The
washed-up baller decried President Trump’s decision to target the man
responsible for the deaths of thousands of people in the Middle East and around
the globe. Kaepernick recently said that the U.S. targets minorities “at
home and abroad,” tweeting: “There is nothing new about American terrorist
attacks against Black
and Brown people for the expansion of American imperialism.”
As is
the case with virtually all leftist dogma, this is exactly wrong. Whether it be
the first World Trade Center bombing, 9/11, the Orlando nightclub shooting, or
numerous other terrorist attacks on the United States and her citizens of all
colors, the U.S., the most diverse nation in history, has been the target
of terrorists from North Africa and the Middle East. This despite the fact that
the nation has often tried to help prevent ethnic genocide and gives billions
of dollars in humanitarian aid to African nations alone. But let’s not muddy
things up with facts.
The
United States lost over 600,000 people in a war to end slavery and preserve the
idea that all men are created equal and granted inalienable rights by their
Creator. Prior to that, to establish and keep its independence, it fought
arguably the whitest nation in existence (not that it should matter),
England…twice. America has also fought wars with North Korea and North Vietnam,
but Asians are not black (not that it should matter), and certainly are not a
minority in this world.
Moreover,
the world can never forget that the United States made it possible for the
allies to defeat Germany…twice. One can be sure that Mr. Kaepernick was taught
about the Third Reich and the Aryan Nation. The Nazis were actual racists and
white supremacists. At wars end, the U.S., far from acting out of imperialist
greed, gave back the land it had conquered, unlike the U.S.S.R., and spent the
equivalent of over 115 billion in today’s dollars to rebuild European
economies. But, instead of celebrating the nation which has sacrificed so much
in the name of racial equality…and rewarded him with millions of dollars
and an endless forum to opine, Kaepernick chooses to denigrate and savage it.
As he
opts to dishonor and disrespect the country, its flag, and those who have long
defended the values it represents, he really only dishonors himself. More’s the
pity.
