President Barack Obama turned the Dallas police massacre into a
political weapon, just as he has baldly used numerous other tragedies for
political gain. Only hours after speaking to the nation about the attacks in a
relatively presidential manner, he stated- upon landing in Warsaw- that “When
people are armed with powerful weapons, unfortunately it makes it more deadly
and more tragic.
And in the days ahead we are going to have to consider those
realities as well.”
It is not
about powerful firearms, Mr. President. The shooter repeatedly stated that he “wanted
to kill white people.” The “powerful weapons” that pose the problem, the
weapons that are most deadly and tragic, are ignorance and unfounded hatred.
When people are armed with those weapons,
society starts to unravel, no matter what kind of physical weapons perpetrators
may be using.
It is no
coincidence that, in the couple of decades prior to this past year or so,
violent crime rates plummeted across the country as the number of folks with conceal-carry
licenses sky-rocketed. Since the president, Black Lives Matter, and other
leftist groups have gone out of their way to sow envy, disinformation, racial
division and radicalism over the recent past, attacks on police and violent
crimes in general are rising in big cities around the country. This is leading to
police forces being put in a lose-lose situation. As a result, they simply
aren’t policing in some major metropolitan urban areas. This leads to thugs-
and worse- getting bolder and bolder and will also lead to fewer and fewer
police recruits.
The results
will not be good.
It is amazing
that given the thousands of people killed in this country recently by radical
Islamists, and the hundreds of other radical Islamist terror plots foiled, the
President will not even use the term. Yet he tirelessly spits out the terms
“white privilege” and “gun problem” like a pez dispenser run amok.
