Is Women's Suffrage Really The Problem?

There are certain folks that apparently believe that all of this nation's problems could be solved, would be solved, if only women had never been “given” the vote. I mean, universal suffrage—ugh!-- am I right? Although at times I find that notion tempting, particularly when I see Karens and AWFULs act up on a screen somewhere, it is also somewhat antithetical to a representative republic based on individual rights granted by our Creator. Do they purport to believe that an Ayn Rand, Harris Faulkner, or Tulsi Gabbard should not be “allowed” to vote? That is nonsense, offensive. If so, perhaps they would be more comfortable in Afghanistan or Eritrea.

That said, there is far too much cheating, fraud, and corruption in our elections, largely because leftists live to tell others what to believe, state…and even how to act and vote. There are much better ways to clean up the voter rolls and see to it that candidates with a functioning cerebral cortex, and at least a cursory knowledge of history and economics, have a chance to prevail.

First, the SAVE Act must be passed. Proof of ID should be required to vote. Proof of citizenship, too. And the election should be held on one day at physical polling places, with mail in ballots strictly confined military members serving overseas or those physically unable to get to a polling place.

Secondly, and this may be controversial with some, but only people who pay income taxes should be able to vote, with a few obvious exceptions. People on the government dole simply should not be able to continually vote to force others to pay for their every need and desire. It is an existential danger to society whenever a growing unemployed voting bloc has the power to see to it that government keeps expanding at the expense of others who pay the bills. This is true whether we are speaking of illegal aliens, welfare queens, or those who are indigent by personal choice.

Lastly, I will say this: I have never and will never... ever... allow someone—anyone-- to tell me what I must believe, state, or write. And I can’t imagine telling another American citizen that they are not allowed to vote due to the immutable characteristics of their birth.
