According to a report in the Daily
Caller, senior White House officials claim that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
(D-Calif.) pressed for “several” provisions which would guarantee
federal funding for abortion services……during negotiations on a coronavirus
economic relief package. One of those several demands was for $1 billion
to reimburse laboratory claims. Can you say, “E-V-I-L?” But progressives
never let a good crisis go to waste, and this world-wide life-threatening
disease pandemic is no exception. Apparently, if pro-abortionists find
themselves negotiating to save countless lives, they feel the necessity
to ensure that funding is provided to take countless lives, as well.
Yin-yang, I guess, to use a little Chinese lingo. After all, seems appropriate
in this case.
What the hell does abortion have to
do with protecting Americans from the coronavirus, you ask? Good question.
Perhaps the more people protected from the coronavirus, the more will elect to
have abortions. (I was going to say “women” instead of people, but I wanted to
be inclusive.) Incredibly, Pelosi lashed out at Republicans for not immediately
rolling over and acquiescing to her demands. She stated of the pushback,
“Families have needs. We don’t need 48 hours. We need to just make a decision
to help families now.” In reference to Congress’s upcoming recess week, she
added, “I’m not sticking around because they don’t want to agree to language.
Right now we have to find our common ground, work together, to get this done as
soon as possible.” This is right out of the Democratic Playbook: add a partisan
provision to a bill that has nothing whatsoever to do with it…and then blame
Republicans for noticing.
This is another in a series of
disgusting—and divisive—actions in which Pelosi has recently engaged. You will
recall that she ripped up a copy of President trump’s State of the Union
Address immediately upon its completion, with the world still watching. The
Speaker is to repulsive as the Pacific is to oceans.
Speaking of repulsive, Planned
Parenthood addressed the issue, tweeting: “Using this very real public health
emergency to attack abortion coverage shows a despicable lack of concern about
the severity of the crisis.” This, of course, is exactly the reverse of
reality. It’s so preposterous, you can’t make it up. The administration and
Republicans weren’t trying to use this crisis to “attack abortion coverage,”
but Pelosi, Democrats and Planned Parenthood were trying to use it to
promote abortion. Moreover, abortion itself is a crisis, a public health
emergency.
Must Democrats make everything
political? (It’s a rhetorical question. Sadly, I know the answer is ‘yes.’)
Frankly, I’m surprised they didn’t also ask for another billion dollars to fund
transgender bathrooms.
Let us all pray that the
coronavirus, COVID-19, can be contained and eradicated in the very near future.
Let us pray for those affected by this scourge. But let’s also remember that
there is another illness to which we have already fallen prey: a sickness of
the soul. And we need to fight this one, too.
