There are several things the U.S. should be giving Iran right now. We should be giving them “the finger.” We should be giving them “the business.” At the very least, we should be giving them “the cold
shoulder.” We should not be giving
them cash and the okay to build new nuclear plants, yet that is precisely what
we have done in recent days.
Obama administration officials recently informed the Washington Free Beacon that Iran is permitted to pursue the
construction of two (newly announced) nuclear plants under the parameters of
last summer’s nuclear agreement. Tehran will
be doing just that, under orders from President Hassan Rouhani. In fact, Ali
Salehi, Iran’s top nuclear official, announced on Thursday, August 11th
that Iran has invested $10 billion in
the construction of two new nuclear plants after receiving orders from Rouhani,
according to reports in Iran’s state-controlled media.
Salehi also stated that Iran would continue
to produce excess heavy water, a nuclear byproduct that can provide the material for a nuclear weapon.
Incredibly,
the United States reportedly committed to purchasing more than 30 tons of the
heavy water from Iran earlier this year in
order to help keep it in line with restrictions imposed by the nuclear deal.
Back to Ali Salehi who added: “Iran’s heavy water production surplus is
currently on a sale agenda and our nuclear industry is functioning well.”
Iran’s
heavy water production surplus is currently on a “sale agenda?” WTF? “Attention
budding dictators and terrorist shoppers, the blue light is in the nuclear
materials aisle where you’ll find incredible prices on nuclear weapon building
blocks! Remember, all sales are final… and thank you for shopping Ali’s Armory
at Bombs Are Us!”
One
congressional source told the Free Beacon, “The Obama administration
seems committed to making Iran into a nuclear power. They’ve purchased heavy
water from the Iranians, as if the Iranians were legitimate nuclear suppliers,
which they’re not. They’ve made excuses for Iran seeking to procure nuclear
parts from Germany and elsewhere. And now they’re celebrating Iran building
full-blown reactors. All of this is the exact opposite of what they promised
Congress, and for good reason, since Congress is committed to ensuring Iran
never gets the infrastructure to be a screw turn away from a nuke,” said the
source.
The
president might just as well save some time and personally deliver to the
Iranians- the planet’s biggest sponsor of
terrorism- an assortment of our
nuclear missiles, warheads, military secrets, current launch codes and
blueprints for future weapons systems.
This
is not just a case of inexperience, weakness or even recklessness. There is
something else at work here. And it is sinister.
