Hello, and welcome to another post by Donnie Downer!
The
sun is expected to “fundamentally transform” itself in just a couple billion
years, making life on Earth impossible. But, how ‘bout those Cowboys?! An
exploding and/or dying sun is obviously not a problem we have to concern
ourselves with now. I’m guessing I’m not the only one who doubts humans will
last that long. In fact, I would be surprised if we are hanging around as a
viable entity come, say, the year 2200. Eric, why so pessimistic and glum? Let
me count the ways.
*There are 50 million mostly
non-assimilating foreigners in the country. Foreigners who are utterly determined
to outbreed and eventually overwhelm us, almost like an invasive species. They
are succeeding. Bigly.
*We are gripped by an
apparently endless, if inexplicable, suicidal empathy. Bad timing for that.
(See above.)
*Suddenly, the long-time
American values of competence, punctuality, neatness, hard work, etc., are
under attack. They are nothing but symbols of “white supremacy,” you see.
*In fact, incentives not
to work and to commit crimes have been put in place, as have disincentives
to work hard and obey the law.
*The once sacrosanct notions
of Christianity and a Judeo-Christian work ethic are rapidly losing ground--
mocked, derided, and even weaponized.
*Mainline religions-- and virtually
all other vital institutions—have been taken over by the far-left. (See also, schools,
media, the entertainment industry, corporate boardrooms, etc., etc.)
*The U.S. birth rate is far
below replacement. Which indicates that doubt, unease, and selfishness have permeated
those under 40.
*Mental illness, depression,
and suicidal thoughts are all at all-time high levels. And Medical Assistance
In Dying (MAID) is now one of the leading causes of death in Canada.
*Schools routinely and
incessantly teach our kids that Christianity is oppressive, and the US is evil.
*In most of those same
schools, the only history being taught is false. Indoctrination, not education,
is the order of the day.
*Western nations have been
gradually but inexorably infantilized and feminized.
*There is an unexplainable inability
to discern and define anyone’s and everyone’s sex and/or gender. This is combined with an abject hatred of
traditional gender roles.
*Bad actors and terrorists
seem far more determined to dispatch us than we are even to deport them.
*Whether referring to DOGE,
the Save America Act, or simply holding serial fraudsters accountable around
the nation, it appears almost impossible to effectively push back against entrenched
crime, even given allegedly concerted efforts. At the end of the day, no one is
held accountable. No one.
*A.I. is getting smarter as people
are getting dumber. A.I. won’t break out and physically kill us all. It will
also do many truly amazing and wonderful things for us. But, as with every new
invention and every new significant advance in technology, it will be used for
evil by bad people, which will likely lead to disaster. Best case? We use AI to
perform our tasks, write, create, and think for us, rendering ourselves unable
to think, create, or do much of anything for ourselves. If we ultimately cede
these abilities to AI, we will have made ourselves moot, and, ironically,
written ourselves out of our own story.
Perhaps
worse yet, most or all of the aforementioned will make DSA types smile and pump
their fists. Simply put, at this point, evil is winning. In a rout. There are
only two realistic ways this doesn’t end very badly. Very badly, indeed.
One, good people decide to do whatever it takes to put an end to this tragic
farce. Or two, there is divine intervention.
