California Gov. Gavin “Slick” Newsom recently
signed AB 2017 into law. The bill was proposed by Congresswoman Aisha Wahab, an
Afghan Muslim, and adds two Muslim holidays, Eid al-Fitr and Eid
al-Adha, to the state’s official calendar.
Section 3 of the bill
reads:
“Public schools and educational institutions throughout
this state may include exercises, funded through existing resources, exploring
the history of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. The State Board of Education may
adopt a model curriculum guide to be available for use by public schools for
exercises related to Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.”
So much for separation of
church and state. I guess mosque and state are a match made in Paradise,
however.
This does seem a tad odd,
though, given that California banned travel to eight allegedly “anti-gay”
states. Wonder what Ms. Wahab and the Imams think about that? (The erstwhile Golden State purportedly banned travel to Kentucky due
in part to that state’s stance supporting the airing of “A
Charlie Brown Christmas,” replete with
Linus’ reading passages from the New Testament.)
But I’m sure California public
schools study the Bible as part of their core curriculum, too. Right? Right?! I
guess Indoctrinating students into Islam is okay, but celebrating Christmas is
right out! I mean “Winter Holiday.”
In related news, a spate
of recent City Council meetings have opened with “Hail Satan,” “Dear Dark
Father,” and other appeals to Luciferian impulses. Including one in Ottumwa,
Iowa.
Ottumwa, Iowa? That’s Radar O’Reilly’s hometown! Grape knee-highs and
“Hail Satan?!”
Thanks
to Democrats, nostalgia isn’t what it used to be, either. Leftists have
perverted—and sometimes inverted—our history. They have smeared Columbus,
savaged our Founders, torn down their statues. You see, leftists are inherently
tyrants—and tyrants can’t tolerate anything or anyone greater than themselves. So,
they denigrate great men of the past, they despise individual rights, and they
dismiss the idea of an all-powerful God. They believe the bigger the government
the better, however, if that government is one they are in, and therefore affords
them more power.
Because these people are so ignorant,
so mean-spirited, so tyrannical-- and yet so conceited-- they believe any
person or act that preceded their existence on this planet is unworthy of them.
Which makes them existentially dangerous to the rest of us.
So
here is a history lesson: it is said that, during the Dark Ages, the last few
residents of a once great Rome were so awestruck by the magnificent ruins surrounding
them that they believed the ancient city could only have been built by giants
or gods. That is how far—and how fast— even the world’s greatest civilization, one
of the birthplaces of democracy and republican governance-- can fall. To the
point that its remaining inhabitants could not rationally conceive of how it
was built, all those years ago. That is the opposite of progress.
Progressives
destroy everything, in part because they are incapable of producing anything,
and in part because they have been allowed to do so. The latter reason is on
us.
