With the
recent ascension of Justice Elizabeth Welch, Democrats are now the majority in
the Michigan Supreme Court. Welch, a radical leftist activist, campaigned on
the promise that she would “Put People First.” Well, I guess it depends on what
your definition of “people” is. The far-left justice has indicated she’d
entertain a case brought by the “Nonhuman Rights Project” arguing that “common
law courts must recognize our nonhuman animal
clients as legal persons with the
fundamental right to bodily liberty protected by the writ of habeas corpus.” (Far-left
justice is an oxymoron if ever there was one.)
Welch noted that she is open to exploring whether
“chimpanzees possess a common law right to bodily liberty” and rejected the
idea that “the Book of Genesis is a sound foundation for Michigan common law.” Remarkably,
she cited Peter Singer, a big proponent of animal equality and liberty, who also
seriously argued for killing children and the elderly. (Oh, and Singer defended
sex with animals. I guess he thought bestiality was no big deal if animals and
humans are considered to have equal rights, and are on an equitable footing.)
Tragicomically, Welch’s campaign was backed by
Planned Parenthood. So, don’t kill animals, or deprive them of their natural
rights and liberty, but feel free to casually snuff out the human life in your
wombs, ladies! Gotta love utterly consistent logic like that, right?
So,
to recap, monkeys have human rights, but undersized humans don’t have human
rights. What’s more, bellow “progressives,” Leftist violence is protected
speech, but Conservative speech is violence. And men can become women, and
vice-versa, on nought but a whim or assertion.
If
Democrats win the midterms, it may not be long until they launch a monkey
suffrage movement. For all we know, with no ID needed to vote in the majority
of states, a monkey or ten may have already voted. But that will just be a
prelude to the push for inter-species marriage. The “ISM Front” will start
riots in cities like Portland, Seattle, L.A., San Francisco, New York, and
Minneapolis to force the issue. If monkeys have equal rights...why not? Who
does it hurt if some folks want to marry a monkey? Or a horse? Or a dog? Who
wants to be on the regressive, fascist, intolerant, bigoted side and be called
a “far-right extremist” and “love-hater?”
Nearly
a dozen years ago, I wrote a satirical
post
about just such a scenario. It may not be seen as satire for much longer. When
it comes to depravity, Democrats believe in monkey see, monkey do.
Being
old-school, I believe we should stop monkeying around with the fundamental--
and Biblical—principles that made this nation great.
Save
a horse, ride a cowboy? Nah. Save a nation, vote conservative.
