A California school district has reversed its decision to teach LGBTQ curriculum that involves former gay
rights activist Harvey Milk after Gov. Gavin Newsome (D-CA) proposed stiff fines
if the education endorsed by the state was not implemented.
Temecula Valley Unified School District, a rare conservative
board in the extremely blue state, struck down the curriculum in May. The
district voted 3-2 to reject the curriculum again on Tuesday……before passing it
on Friday.
Why the change? What happened in the interim?
Well, on Wednesday, Newsom announced he would fine
the school district $1.5 million if it failed to implement the radical social
studies curriculum that was approved by the State Board of Education for first
through fifth grade.
Governor Hair Gel stated, in tyrannical fashion: "The
three political activists on the school board have yet again proven they are
more interested in breaking the law than doing their jobs of educating students
— so the state will do their job for them.”
The state will do their jobs for them? Nothing terrifying there, Adolph! Have you
attacked the French (Laundry) lately?! The three school board members were not,
in fact, activists, but were the ones interested in doing their jobs— protecting
the students from an utterly political, leftist agenda.
How Newsome can even speak of school board members “breaking
the law” when they are listening to parents—and their own consciences—is beyond
any reasonable person’s grasp. California is awash in illegal immigrants and
crime—violent and otherwise—precisely because of the policies leftist radicals
like Newsome have foisted on the formerly Golden State.
Newsome added: “This is about extremists’ desire to control
information and censor the materials used to teach our children.” Had he
directed that accusation at himself, it would have been far more accurate.
Harvey Milk was the first openly gay man to be elected to
public office in California. That’s fine. But he was also a pedophile who should not
be held up as either a martyr or a hero.
Sadly, the Temecula Valley Unified School
District ultimately caved to Newsome’s threat, proving that, like nearly
everyone else in education, they value money more than children.
