North Carolina GOP Office Firebombed, Media Yawns

The recent firebombing of North Carolina’s Orange County Republican Headquarters was an act of political terrorism. Fortunately no one was killed, though the office was a total loss. Attackers spray-painted “Nazi Republicans get out of town or else” on a nearby building, but the story utterly bored the mainstream media, which gave it very little play.
Taking it a step further, CNN’s Brian Stelter actually concluded that Donald Trump’s “overheated rhetoric” was the likely cause of the attack. The genesis of the attack certainly couldn’t be Hillary Clinton’s cool, calm, and rational description of Trump voters as being a “basket of deplorables,” could it?
Imagine if it was a Democratic Party Headquarters or Hillary’s Headquarters that was similarly firebombed and the graffiti message punctuating the attack read: “Communist Democrats get out of town or else.” That story would have led the news cycle until the election was over. Major newspapers would have had World War II type headlines crying: “NAZI REPUBLICANS BOMB DEMOCRATIC HEADQUARTERS IN VILE ACT OF TERROR!” Michael Moore would’ve made a movie out of the act. Hollywood would have ensured that 100% of the Republican characters portrayed in television shows and in major motion pictures were made into evil, greedy, drooling, incompetents…not just the 90% of them characterized thusly today. Barack and Michelle would be “shaken to their core” and calling for a “fundamental change to the two-party system of government that our Founders brought forth.” College students would never leave their safe spaces.
Appearing on CNN’s Newsroom, Stelter, referring to the firebombing, stated: “But that kind of action is unacceptable, and we need to have the temperature come down on all sides right now. Unfortunately, Donald Trump is the lead in terms of raising the temperature at this moment in time.”

That is incorrect, Brian. By actively and aggressively taking sides in this election, protecting their fellow elites at all costs instead of speaking truth to power, and treating said truth the same way they treat Mr. Trump, the media itself is largely responsible for the toxic atmosphere in which we now find ourselves.
