Black and White

"With their Senate majority imperiled, Democrats are trying to mobilize African-Americans outraged by the shooting in Ferguson, MO., to help them retain control of at least one chamber of Congress for President Obama's final two years in office" began the recent article in the New York Times.

Yes, the usual suspects on the left are using the recent sad events in Ferguson, Missouri, to mobilize blacks to vote for  their candidates in the upcoming November elections. Blacks should be appalled. Sickened. They are being openly used like “Shake and Bake” bags of yore, as are the tragic events in Ferguson. Treated like rented mules, they should respond like one and dig their feet in and say “no more”.

                Sadly, they aren’t doing so.

Not only are the events surrounding Michael Brown’s death “in question”, there is evidence that he was involved in an earlier crime and  also reached for the officer’s gun.  Apart from this, more blacks are murdered by blacks, by far, than are murdered by whites. Inexplicably, this doesn’t cause  Republicans to use this fact to desperately rally African-Americans to their side. (Maybe it should). And you can be sure that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, et. al.,  won’t be at any of these crime scenes. In their view there is nothing in these blasé black-on-black  murders to be (soullessly, callously,  brutally) exploited for their own personal gain. Therefore, they are a non-issue. As is the case with many modern-day “liberals” (a true bastardization of a word that once meant wonderful things), these hyper-partisan hucksters are intent on dividing this country for their political benefit.

With Democrats historically treating blacks as inferior, if not as chattel- or worse- it is amazing to see what’s transpired in recent years.  Liberals only recognize groups. Because a group is larger than an individual, and is therefore a more valuable voting bloc/tool. Conservatives believe in the rights of the individual. The truest, smallest minority. They are looking out for you, not unions. Tragically, it certainly doesn’t help them in elections anymore, but it is the right thing to do. Martin Luther King was right when he said “It isn’t the color of one’s skin, but the content of one’s character” that matters. Notice he didn’t say “It isn’t the color of a group’s skin but the content of a group’s character”.

Imagine if the beatings and cross-burnings and lynchings in the past had elicited such overt political opportunism. Republicans actually would have had much  truth on their side if they would’ve said to blacks “Democrats want to  lynch your sons, brothers and fathers and deny basic rights to your moms and grandmothers, and deprive you all of a decent education”.

It’s too bad Robert Byrd, the former KKK  Leader isn’t still alive and in congress. Democrats would’ve rallied blacks to support him in his re-election bid as well. He might’ve gone to Ferguson himself to commiserate and stir up more hate. And look down his nose at the cops.

Remember 911? Three thousand innocents dead at the hands of 19 radical Islamists. How many were blacks? Al, Jesse? And did the President try to divide the country for his own gain? No. He, and other Republicans went out of the way to state that Islam is a “religion of peace”. That it was being hi-jacked in some instances by radical extremists. That we had to make a distinction between the vast majority of decent, law-abiding Muslims and the relatively few who believed in a “perverted” version of the venerable religion.

The result? We shortly thereafter elected the first Muslim member of congress. And the “Ground-Zero” Mosque was built! Tolerance on an unprecedented scale.

On the other hand, some Democrats are going to try to get  potential voters to believe that somehow the white cops in Ferguson are evil, racist, Republican, Tea-Partiers. “Keep rioting in protest of those intolerant white (Republicans) until you vote for us and we can come save you!”

Historical honesty, logic and “fairness” are not strong suits of today’s “liberal” Democratic Party.

It is easy to see the color of an individual’s skin, very difficult to determine the content of a group’s character. Unless it is the group of people using Ferguson, blacks and tragedy for their own power.
