Does one’s mind exist as a separate entity even if nothing
else were to exist? If there was no Earth, no universe? If everything else went
away, would our mind remain? Is our mind necessary for there to be a universe?
Is the universe necessary for the existence of our mind? Or, are both required?
Neither? What about our souls? Are they inextricably tied to our minds? Could
nothing else exist but our soul? Do
our minds exist because of the universe, or is the universe only a construct of
our minds? Is it possible for nothing to exist? What do the answers to these
questions mean in terms of religion and science?
Maybe
the best answer to these queries- maybe the only
answer available to us now- is provided by Chris Stapleton in his song Broken Halos:
