Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton
took advantage of her appearance on “The Daily Show” to blast President Trump
for his reaction to Tuesday’s terror attack in New York City. Clinton was, yet
again, plugging her book “What Happened” when she told host Trevor Noah that
Trump lacked “empathy” in his response to the heinous attack by yet another
radical Islamist ISIS supporter.
"What you want in a president, is
[someone who will try] to bring a country together, talk about what happened
with the event they're concerned about but not point fingers, not scapegoat and
not try to set Americans against each other,” Clinton opined. “Event?”
"He just doesn't have any empathy. You
can disagree with someone over all kinds of partisan issues, but you want a
president who can try to put himself into the shoes, the feelings of someone
else, and he has not been able to do that."
A Clinton talking about empathy??! Did
Hillary have any empathy for all the women her husband assaulted? For Vince
Foster? For the heroic victims of our embassy in Benghazi and their families? Hillary
might well answer those questions by stating “What difference, at this point,
does it really make?” in her most “empathetic” manor. Unbelievable.
A president that cries with the victims,
shakes his or her head and looks down sorrowfully at the ground- and personally
absolves the terrorist(s) of any blame- is not
what any sane person would want. Real
empathy, rather than fake empathy designed to make oneself look and feel
morally superior, is doing whatever it takes to stop innocent people from
continuing to be slaughtered while going about their daily existence, whether
working or playing. Who the hell would you want as your leader, someone who is
committed to preventing your loved ones from being massacred or someone who
sobs with you after they have been exterminated? Who is the more caring?
And Hillary’s purported belief in “not
pointing fingers” is particularly hypocritical…and hysterical. Her new book
“What Happened” is nothing but an exercise in finger-pointing. She takes the
lowest road available, blaming Russia, Jim Comey, Macedonian content farms,
misogyny, the press, Facebook, Republicans, other Democrats, fake news,
Wikileaks, Twitter, cable news, low-information voters, suburban women, people
wanting change, Obama, bad polling numbers (and everyone assuming she’d win),
“Anti-American Forces,” and various other entities for her pathetic
performance.
Clinton also alleged Trump “had to know”
his team was contacting the Russian government for help in the election.
“I mean, he has to know -- we'll find
out what he knew and how involved he was -- but he had to know that people were
making outreach to Russians, to the highest levels of the Kremlin, in order to
help him, to hurt me, but more importantly to sow this divisiveness," she
added.
We
don’t know that. But we do know
she herself knew the Benghazi attacks weren’t the result of a stupid video. She
“had to know” about a lot of things she’s pled ignorance of over the years, from
her husband’s indiscretions to Clinton Foundation malfeasance to the dangers of
her email escapades.
Collusion? According to former Democratic
National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile, we now also know Hillary reached
out to her own government for help in
the election and colluded with the
DNC to help her own campaign, hurt Bernie Sanders and secure her nomination.
Talk about an entitlement mentality!
President Trump was roundly criticized by
progressives for tweeting that the suspect in Tuesday’s terror attack in New
York had entered the United States via the “Diversity Visa Lottery Program.”
That’s a fact. But the mayor of New York City, the governor of the state of New
York, the mainstream media, and even the NYPD appeared far more concerned about
any potential backlash against
Muslims than this latest actual act of terror that killed or wounded more than
twenty innocent people, including five Argentines celebrating their 30-year
class reunion.
Several other Democrats termed President
Trump’s outrage, candor, and prescription for preventing these deadly acts in
the future “a politicization of the tragedy.” After receiving criticism from
Trump, Chuck Schumer tweeted: “I guess it’s not too soon to politicize a
tragedy.” Politicizing a tragedy? From the party that routinely turns funerals
into campaign events? That believes that “no serious crisis should go to waste?”
Politicizing? Too soon? Hillary and Chuck
made their remarks one day after
Trump made his. Hillary made hers on a promotional book tour.
What we want, Hillary, is a president that
has “empathy” with those shunned by the coastal elites, those mocked by
self-righteous celebrities, those denigrated by fringe and special-interest groups,
those that have worked their ass off all their lives and now find themselves
out of work through no fault of their own. Hillary said, in a March 2016
debate: “We’re gonna put a lot of coal miners and coal companies outta
business.” Empathy?
Hillary, most of us got sick of your
entitled demeanor, your disdain of those
in “fly-over country” and your incessant lies.
That is
“What Happened.”
