Kevin Spacey is employing the Bill Clinton Defense as
regards the allegation that he attempted to sexually harass/seduce Anthony
Rapp, a-then 14-year-old actor: he says he doesn’t recall anything of the sort.
To
paraphrase Mr. Spacey (and Mr. Clinton of mid-nineties fame): “I don’t remember
ever doing anything like that. Not one time. But if indeed I did do it, I sincerely apologize for my
deeply inappropriate behavior.”
Immediately
after the allegation was leveled, Spacey played the all-powerful gay card in an
attempt to gain protected status. It didn’t work. Members of the LGBTQ
community, including comedian Wanda Sykes, rightfully lashed out at Spacey
saying that he can’t “choose to hide under the rainbow.” Under the rainbow?
Take it away Mr. Spacey:
Somewhere
under the rainbow
I will sigh,
‘Cuz there's a lad that I heard of
Once in a lullaby
I will sigh,
‘Cuz there's a lad that I heard of
Once in a lullaby
Somewhere under the rainbow
Thoughts are blue,
And the wet-dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
(My
apologies to Harold Arlen)
Rosie
O’Donnell said that “we all knew” about the star’s alleged behavior. And you
sat on it for how long, Rosie? How courageous! She also tweeted: “I hope more
men come forward.” So, you hope he
molested more young boys than just
Anthony Rapp? Wow, you never cease to impress, Ms. O’Donnell.
I’m
sick of everything Hollywood. Sick of faux people, actors, portrayers. Sick of
the “glamor,” the fame and the glory. There’s more substance in cotton candy.
I’m sick of those famous for being famous. And especially sick of air-headed
cyborgs preening themselves as they berate Middle-America for its traditional
values and supposed intolerance as they try to screw anything that moves and
many things that don’t.
Hollywood
was always a House of Cards. It’s about time that house collapsed.
