Modern Art

Two students left a pineapple in the middle of an art show at a Scottish university recently, Heatstreet reported. As a “joke,” they left the large fruit on a stand at the Look Again exhibition at Robert Gordon University. When they returned to the exhibition four days later, the students found the pineapple proudly standing as the centerpiece of the display, ensconced in a glass case.
One of the students, Ruairi Gray, a business information technology major, told the MailOnline: “I saw an empty art display stand and decided to see how long it would stay there for or if people would believe it was art.” News of the “work” quickly spread through social media, and it was apparently even praised by lecturers for its artistic originality. Gray admitted that he’d never even considered a career as an artist, but that he’s now hoping for an honorary degree.
Just think what he could do with federal funding!
The school’s website stated that the exhibition solicited viewers to “look at the places and spaces around us through fresh eyes.”

And fresh fruit, apparently.
