The
first message (quotations mine) was painted neatly onto the back of a van I was
driving behind this past week. The invitation to become a humanist (or at least
call their 800#) was in the form of a bumper sticker on the fender directly
below.
By definition, humanism is a belief that
humans are good, emphasizes all things human and generally dismisses religion.
It is supposedly an emphasis on the rational
and on reason.
The van’s
owner must be a product of our modern-day public schools.
