Listening
to the news on my car radio awhile back I was stunned to hear a reporter
stating flatly that “250,000 people in the U.S. are infected with the HIV virus
and don’t even know it.”
And you
and the people who came up with that figure know
this…how?!? If the people who have it
don’t know it (and therefore obviously
haven’t sought treatment for a disease they aren’t aware they have), how are
you so certain of it?
If the
theoreticians, study heads and reporters who created and touted this “fact”
actually do know this, maybe they should tell the people who have the virus and
let them get treatment. Oh, of course, they have no idea on an individual level
who carries the disease, but are
absolutely certain about the group
totals!
Well,
what else do you folks know, and how do you know it? Perhaps there are 42
million male lesbians in the U.S. who don’t know it? We’ve got to find them and
let them out of the closet!
I am
waiting for a reporter to break the tragic news that “there are 10,114 reporters
in this country who are logically-challenged and don’t even know it!”
