California Prohibits State-Funded Travel To Five More States

 

The People’s Republic of California prohibited state-funded travel to five more Republican-led states recently because far left Golden State politicians purportedly believe those states have passed legislation that could be seen as discriminating against members of the LGBTQ community. (State agencies from the erstwhile Land of Milk and Honey are prohibited from authorizing state-funded travel to restricted areas under AB 1887, a bill passed in 2016, according to the Sacramento Bee.) Arkansas, Montana, West Virginia, and Florida were added to the existing list of 12 states to which state-sanctioned travel is verboten. Their crimes were similar, in that all four had the audacity to ban males from competing on girls’ sports teams. Arkansas went so far as to prohibit physicians from lopping breasts and penises off of young people and giving them drugs to “block” their puberty. (And Florida, of course, is led by Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is to “progressives” as Kryptonite is to Super Man. DeSantis is such a monster, he is even now attempting to enhance and protect “viewpoint diversity” on his state’s college campuses! Diversity of kink is self-evidently worthy of protection, but diversity of thought? That’s crazy!)

North Dakota made the list due to its egregious passage of House Bill 1503 which seeks to codify “free speech protections for students and faculty at North Dakota’s public colleges and universities.” If freedom of speech is guaranteed, what’s next, freedom of assembly? Of religion? What some of these red states are doing is nothing less than frightening!

Sarcasm aside, what California is doing is frightening. When one state in the union effectively tries to prevent its people from traveling to other states in the union because those states have certain policies and statutes with which its political leaders disagree…well, so much for federalism and republicanism. And, at some point, possibly, the union.

To a sentient, unbiased being with at least an adequate knowledge of history, it is truly mind-boggling that so many almost perfectly ignorant people today believe they know better than the American Founders how to design a successful society, including all of its economic and political institutions…and its raison d’ệtre. The Founders assiduously studied all previous societies, economic systems and forms of government. They were intimately familiar with the world’s religions and had nearly all read the Bible. Most importantly, they were students of human behavior and connoisseurs of the truth.

California’s leaders, like progressives everywhere, seem only to know what can’t be so: men can be women and women can be men. Raising taxes will help the economy. (Tax increases which now fund $60,000 tents for the homeless.) Subsidizing sloth, indolence and drug use will help to alleviate sloth, indolence and drug use. Attacking Christianity will lead to more tolerance. Defunding the police will lead to less crime and more justice.

It is no wonder that people are fleeing California. In a recent survey, conducted by the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, 40% of the residents of San Francisco who were polled said they planned to leave the city in the near future. 40%! Will someone soon pen a Declaration of Independence from California?

California can try to keep its citizens from visiting red states, but, ironically, it is forcing them to move to red states.

Yet another member of the Trump-loving, radical, right-wing terrorist mob that attempted to overthrow the United States government this past January 6—a date that will live forever in infamy—has been sentenced to justice. Your beatific leaders, duly elected and chosen by you the people, have decided to jail Ashli Babbitt in absentia and in perpetuity. Babbitt, an ex-military supporter of extreme forms of white supremacy and likely member of the Proud Boys, was blessedly shot dead by a courageous Capitol police officer during the crazed mob’s nearly successful attempt at insurrection. Many of the people’s elected representatives—and most experts-- wanted to posthumously execute Babbitt in order to send a message to the Satanic bastards who had the audacity to challenge their betters, but those that thought the measure could be seen as overly harsh, if not “intolerant,” prevailed.

In a heartwarming development, the vast majority of teachers’ unions across the country—and each of their national brethren—voted to go forward teaching the 1619 Project, Critical Race Theory, and “Queer and Kink Sex Ed.” The unions of selfless top educators pledged to thoroughly cover these vital topics, no matter the opinions and desires of America’s parents, particularly those of a dangerously Christian bent in flyover country. Moreover, the NEA vowed to bring these core curriculums to every K-12 classroom in the nation. The glorious revolution continues apace, despite the feeble resistance of certain white, male, religious extremists, members of the entrenched patriarchy, reactionaries, Nazis, climate-change deniers, and assorted other whackos! The Biden administration, already proving itself to be one of the most effective in our nation’s history, took another step towards saving our republic yesterday, by seeing to the passage of a bill dramatically increasing taxes on businesses-- and those obscenely wealthy individuals making over $400,000 a year. Tax rates on businesses will be doubled, and the top marginal tax rate on individuals will be raised from 37% to 77%. This long overdue correction of unfair legislation enacted by the criminal Donald Trump and his accomplices will significantly increase badly needed revenue so that the federal government can benevolently, and in an utterly unbiased manner, redistribute wealth to marginalized groups and peoples of color. This should teach the imperialist, running-dog, hyper-capitalists a lesson they will never forget. Workers of the world unite! (Even though no one should be forced to work. We are fervent advocates of a stout universal basic income!)

Progressive Democrats have introduced a bill that would ban all energy extraction-- and use-- across the country by 2024. These planet-loving pols are proposing a bold step towards reducing America’s giant carbon footprint on our unsuspecting and fragile globe. The bill, H.R. 666-FUUSA, would mandate that all coal, oil, shale oil, natural gas and nuclear energy exploration, extraction, production, and use be permanently shut down by December 31, 2024. The bill also would ban the use of wind turbines, hydro-electric power, and solar panels, as each of these energy options “despoil the natural environment, obstruct sight-lines for some of our Democratic colleagues who live nearby, and steal energy from our beloved earth mother.”

American News Media The Worst, Survey Says

 

            The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford conducts an annual survey measuring the level of trust of mainstream media in numerous nations. Finland’s citizens professed the most trust in their media outlets, with nearly 2 in three of them purporting to trust “most news most of the time.” Reuters surveyed 92,000 news consumers in 46 countries. Care to guess which nation’s denizens exhibited the least trust in their Fourth Estate? That would be Americans, only 29% of whom said they generally trusted the media.

This is surpassingly sad, as a free and unbiased press is particularly essential to a healthy, free republic, as a means of providing accurate knowledge and information to its citizenry, as they are tasked with manning a government of, by, and for…the people…i.e. themselves. The Founders considered freedom of the press “one of the great bulwarks of liberty.” The American press was granted that freedom, but in recent decades has eschewed it in favor of furthering a rigid, dogmatic agenda. The result is: fake news.

The mainstream media in the United States has lately proven itself incapable of delivering any kind of news story—or even a sports or weather report—without lacing it with dripping contempt for conservatives and their views. Its unbridled, unrestrained bias rose to truly preposterous levels during the Trump administration and shows no sign of abating. Legacy media clowns members like Brian Stelter have instantaneously pivoted from undisguised rabid hatred of former President Trump to a child-like adoration of President Biden, despite his obvious senility. You would think they would have some semblance of professionalism or dignity. But you would be wrong.

In a sane society, no one consuming “news” disseminated by American mainstream media entities would consider those entities to be fair and balanced. Yet, much like American high school students who routinely rank towards the bottom of the pack on math and science testing, the biased American media is bursting with self-esteem. Their ranks are filled with arrogant, delusional blowhards who lecture and condescend to nearly half of those they supposedly “serve.”

“And that’s the way it is.”

More’s the pity.

CSPAN Presidential Ratings Steeped In Bias

 

C-SPAN recently released a new survey ranking all the American presidents from 1 through 44. (Biden, as he is still in office whether he knows it or not, is not yet ranked.) The survey of 142 mostly left-leaning historians, academicians and “professional observers” of the presidency, a 50-percent increase in those polled just since 2017, reflected a “new diversity in race, gender, age and philosophy” according to CSPAN.org. Well, maybe not in philosophy, CSPAN. The “experts” ranked the presidents on 10 characteristics of leadership, including “moral authority.”

Speaking of which, Donald Trump was ranked last for moral authority, well below Richard Nixon and famous prevaricator Bill Clinton, who was also charged with committing perjury and obstruction of justice in the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Preposterous.

Also preposterous was the historians’ and observers’ ranking Barack Obama, who despised the nation he led to such an extent that he attempted to “fundamentally change” it, as one of the best presidents, coming in at number 10. This is like saying Bob Uecker was a better baseball player than Willie Mays, Javaris Crittenton was a better basketball player than Michael Jordan or Larry Bird, and that Douglas “Wrong Way” Corrigan was a better navigator than Charles Lindbergh. It’s like averring that Timothy McVeigh was a more accomplished veteran than George Washington (#2 in the CSPAN rankings) or Dwight D. Eisenhower (#4 in the CSPAN rankings). Obama, ranked #12 in 2017 and #10 in 2021, will surely be ranked #1 by the time the survey is taken in, say, 2033, surpassing Lincoln and Washington.

Trump (number 41 overall) was also ranked far below Jimmy “I’ve committed adultery in my heart many times” Carter who presided over years of stagflation and “malaise,” yet somehow came in 26^th.

The elite presidential minds ranked Lyndon Baines Johnson (#11) and Woodrow Wilson (#13) well ahead of Calvin Coolidge (#24). LBJ, who reportedly often wielded his Johnson to stunned reporters and other onlookers alike, firmly ensconced the U.S. in Vietnam while initiating trillions of dollars in spending to eliminate poverty, the level of which is essentially the same today as it was all those years—and trillions of dollars—ago. Woodrow Wilson was a sanctimonious, classical racist who likewise wanted to grow government at the expense of the individual. Conversely, Coolidge was a down-to-earth, self-deprecating man who granted citizenship to all of the Native American residents in the United States so that they could remain in the country with their rights to tribal land intact. He believed in the Founding principle of limited government and that the people knew best how to govern themselves.

Interestingly, and illustrative of the change in Democratic values over time, the experts ranked Franklin Delano Roosevelt (#3) ahead of the supposed founder of the Democratic Party, Thomas Jefferson (#7). FDR attempted to pack the court and skirt the Constitution. He dramatically—if ineffectively—expanded the size of government and interned Japanese-Americans. His policies aimed at lessening the effects of the Great Depression only exacerbated them and extended the misery. Jefferson, on the other hand, was the greatest champion of individual rights in the history of the world. The Louisiana Purchase and the Lewis and Clark Expedition, both a result of his presidency, literally made it possible for the United States to become…the United States…at least as we know them today. And a world power.

Finally, I would note that the survey ranked Bill Clinton’s presidency just above that of Ulysses S. Grant’s. Grant defeated the South and destroyed the Klan (KKK). Clinton may have destroyed his clan, too, but only those that had dirt on him. Both enjoyed cigars, but in vastly different ways. Grant liked them in his own orifices. 

Grant placed the good of his country above anything else. Much like Lincoln, Washington, Reagan, Coolidge… and Trump. No matter what the “experts” wish us to believe.

 

 

Independence Day Wisdom

 

The U.S. Capitol building has been an iconic symbol of democracy for well over two-hundred years, much like the U.S. itself. It has remained so through the Civil War, World Wars I and II, and too many lesser crises to count, all while remaining largely accessible to the citizens whose interests those that work there are supposed to represent. However, this Independence Day found the Capitol off limits to all but a select few. Our elite overseers can’t be expected to open themselves up to a possible “insurrection,” can they? Sad.

The tragic events of the past year-and-a-half and our “representatives” reaction to them, as well as our own response, have left me wondering what the Founders and other astute political observers might say to us now, if they had the chance. Then I realized they would say pretty much what they said back then. Here are some of the most profound, universal-- and yet timely-- words of wisdom ever uttered in regard to societies, governments, and freedom:

“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”-- Benjamin Franklin. COVID-19?

 

“Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech.”-- Benjamin Franklin. Sound familiar? I wonder what Franklin’s preferred pronouns were.

 

“For true patriots to be silent, is dangerous.”—Samuel Adams.

 

“The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”—Thomas Jefferson.

 

“But a constitution of government once changed from freedom can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.”—John Adams. We might want to take this one to heart.

 

“When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty.”-- John Basil Barnhill. One of the great truisms of all time.  

 

“My definition of a free society is a society where it is safe to be unpopular.”-- Adlai Stevenson. Stevenson was a Democrat. He would’ve been summarily canceled today.

 

“Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms.”-- Hubert H. Humphrey. Trigger warning! Humphrey was a Democrat!

We are seeing this now with our elites on Wall Street, in Big Tech, and in government. So sad.

The last quote was from Lincoln’s message to Congress on December 1^st, 1861.  It is just as true today. We are once again at a tipping point, an existential moment.

NPR Disparages Tom Hanks

 

Tom Hanks has a long track record of social justice activism. He has a long history of donating to Democratic candidates and causes. One might logically believe that he would be a hero to self-proclaimed progressives everywhere. One, apparently, would be wrong.

Tax-payer-funded National Public Radio recently published a piece titled "Tom Hanks Is A Non-Racist. It's Time For Him To Be Anti-Racist,” by 55-year-old Eric Deggans, a Black man. Deggans opined: "The toughest thing for some white Americans … is to admit how they were personally and specifically connected to the elevation of white culture over other cultures. Baby boomer filmmakers have made fortunes amplifying ideas of white American exceptionalism and heroism … [Hanks] has built his career on stories about American white men 'doing the right thing' …It is time for folks like Hanks to be anti-racist." He then claimed that work that focuses on the achievements of “virtuous white, male Americans” may well “have made it tougher” for tales of white “atrocities” to “find space.”

Deggans went on to note how successful white filmmakers like Ron Howard and Steven Spielberg, themselves both liberal, have made it difficult if not impossible for anyone to make films about Black people facing discrimination because their movies didn’t feature Black people facing discrimination. Huh? Almost every current movie, television show, commercial, or pop song has at least a reference to Black people facing discrimination.

Deggans added, "Hanks and other stars need to talk specifically about how their work has contributed to these problems and how they will change. They need to make specific commitments to changing the conversation in story subjects, casting and execution. That is the truly hard work of building change."

The passive-aggressive NPR hit piece then suggested that part of the “truly hard work of building change” is to “dismantle” the idea, notion or concept of any white American males—past or present-- being heroes.

If Hanks truly is a “non-racist,” as NPR snarkily labeled him-- he is not racist. To say he needs to become an “anti-racist” in this context means he must actually become a racist…in the preferred manner of today’s race baiters and grievance traffickers.

Does Deggans believe that no white American males were/are heroes? Not one? Hanks played the roles of Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, an airline pilot who saved countless lives with his actions. He has played Abraham Lincoln, Walt Disney, Fred (“Mr.”) Rogers, Sheriff “Woody”…and himself. Does NPR believe all these “white American males” were racist scum unworthy of being celebrated in any way?

The idea that, since some movies don’t feature a particular group of people facing discrimination, they make it impossible for all other movies to feature that group of people facing discrimination is truly preposterous. Just because somebody may have made successful movies that didn’t feature Jews getting abused and exterminated by Nazis, that does not necessarily make it impossible for anyone else to make films depicting Jews getting abused and exterminated by Nazis.

In 2016 Hanks was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom from that notorious racist Barack Hussein Obama. Tom Hanks is not a racist. He may even be an anti-racist.

And what else was Hanks supposed to do? If he didn’t play white people, if he routinely took roles of peoples of color, different nationalities, or women, he would have been savaged for inexcusable appropriation. Should he be limited to playing the parts of evil white tyrants? Ignorant Caucasian a**holes?

I guess he could just play the roles of mainstream media types like Brian Stelter, Brian Williams, Chris Cuomo, Jake Tapper…and assorted NPR hacks.

 

 

 

The Star-Mangled Banner

 

 The individual means nothing anymore. It's all about the state and sanctioned groups.

The Left should be displaying American flags àla the Soviet Union’s hammer and sickle or the Third Reich’s swastika on red banner. Conversely, conservatives should be loath to fly Old Glory now due to the vast systemic racism directed against them, manifested by the open bigotry shown to them and the trampling of their rights—or refusal to acknowledge they have any. Further, the disregard of natural law, disdain for due process and a jury of one’s peers, and the mocking of the concept of limited government of by and for the people should have soured conservatives on the nation that once embraced—indeed was founded on-- their beliefs and ethos. If these things did not thoroughly deter them from their inherent patriotism, the radically unequal application of law should have, under which if your last name happens to be, say, Clinton, Omar, or Biden you can get away with anything, but if it happens to be, say, Trump, Palin or Quayle, your every thought, utterance and action will be scrutinized, mocked and held up for ridicule—or worse.        

If you are of a mind to burn and loot America’s cities and/or savage those with traditional religious beliefs you are touted, subsidized, championed, held up as heroes, but if you try to prevent that wanton destruction and/or defend traditional morality, you are branded a racist, attacked, canceled. Moreover, the inherent and now systemic corruption of the country’s intelligence and defense agencies, such as the FBI, CIA, DOJ, NSA-- and all branches of the military—should have permanently dissuaded red-blooded, red state Americans from continuing to appreciate and celebrate the erstwhile Shining City on a Hill, the Last Best Hope.

The American flag once represented equal opportunity for individuals-- and freedom of speech, assembly, religion, conscience and the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Several of the Founders did not believe the Bill of Rights was necessary, because they thought it so obvious that everyone had those rights, unimpeachable as they were/are, granted by the Creator. But, truth be told, the flag now represents essentially the opposite: blind allegiance to a particular political agenda, an agenda held by those in power in government, Big tech, corporate boardrooms, academia, the mainstream media, and “entertainment.” These close-minded elites, who gleefully marginalize anyone who doesn’t openly profess agreement with their supposedly progressive agenda, are the ones who should now be proudly flying the American flag, for all they have made it stand for recently.

Our self-declared “tolerant” rulers have simply brushed us aside, as if we were lint…as we have let them. The concepts of limited government, the rule of law, and individual sovereignty have been tossed out, permanently relegated to the ash heap of history, by these “progressives.” These archaic concepts have been replaced by their “wokester” political agenda of “some are more equal than others”…as determined by skin color and other immutable characteristics…and sanctioned and defined by the state. Meaning them.

The Star-Spangled Banner and all it once stood for has been hijacked. It is, therefore, more than ironic that progressives still kneel in dissent during the national anthem as it is in view…and that conservatives still stand to honor it.

Nike "Of China And For China" Chief Executive Says

 

In December of 2020, the BBC published the results of an investigation, based on new research, showing that China was forcing hundreds of thousands of minorities, the majority of them Uyghurs, into manual labor in the cotton fields of Xinjiang. Subsequently, several Western brands, including Nike, tepidly expressed mild concerns about China’s use of forced labor. This resulted in a (CCP led) backlash/boycott by Chinese consumers.

Which didn’t sit well with Nike.

Prompting the company’s Chief Executive, John Donahoe, to scramble to shore up his corporation’s status amongst the Middle Kingdom’s footwear purchasers. During a call with Wall Street analysts concerning Nike’s most recent earnings report and competition from Chinese brands, Donahoe stated: "Nike is a brand that is of China and for China."

“Of China and for China.” Hmm. Forget the United States. Forget a government of the people, by the people, for the people. So what if such a government perishes from the earth, even if at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party. What did Abraham Lincoln know anyway? Did he even wear Nikes?

Like nearly all other Big Tech and giant multinational corporations, Nike doesn’t really value the concepts of freedom or integrity as highly as it values a larger market share. Like most politically correct and woke organizations, the more it professes fealty to “progressivism” and “social justice,” the less it acts in accordance with those purported values and the more it seeks to maximize its profits.

Sound familiar, Donahoe? If the shoe fits, wear it.

After all, if it’s a Nike, it’s probably made in China.

San Jose To Force Legal Gun Owners To Pay For Costs Of Progressive Policies

 

On June 29^th, the San Jose City Council unanimously passed ordinances requiring “every gun owner to buy liability insurance coverage for their firearms" and also to "pay a fee to compensate taxpayers for the emergency medical and police responses to gun-related injuries and deaths," the San Francisco Chronicle reported. San Jose is the first city in the United States to enact such a radical—and preposterously unconstitutional-- anti-gun stance. 

Shortly before the vote, an organization called the Pacific Institute on Research and Evaluation (PIRE) released a preliminary report stating that gun violence in San Jose costs the city approximately $442 million annually. Officials have yet to decide on the amount of the fee that legal gun owners will now be forced to pay.

Predictably, far-left Democratic Mayor Sam Liccardo praised the measures and reportedly argued that gun owners who refuse to comply with the new laws would have their weapons seized. Liccardo issued a statement reading: "While the Second Amendment protects the right to bear arms, it does not require taxpayers to subsidize gun ownership. We won't magically end gun violence, but we will stop paying for it."

Everything about the measures is tyrannical and counterproductive. The unprecedented ordinances are sure to be challenged in court by firearm-rights groups. One such group, the Firearms Policy Coalition, has already planned legal action. The FPC put out a statement reading in part, “All states and local governments must comply with the Bill of Rights and Fourteenth Amendment, period. The days of governments doing whatever they wish to impose expansive, unconstitutional gun control laws are numbered. We will work tirelessly to bring your tyrannical efforts to a crashing halt, and are committed to restoring human liberty and freedom using every available resource. If San Jose adopts Mayor Liccardo's outrageous and unconstitutional gun control proposals, we will not hesitate to challenge the City's policies in federal litigation and take every possible action to block their enforcement.”

The gun-rights group went on to refute each piece of the council’s (10-point) plan, explaining why each specific measure is unconstitutional.

Legal firearms owners have to reimburse taxpayers for emergency medical and police responses to gun-related injuries and deaths? The vast majority of legal gun owners are taxpayers themselves, unlike many others in the city. And legal gun ownership prevents far more crime, injuries, death, property destruction and monetary loss than it causes.

Is the San Jose City Council also going to enact laws forcing spoon owners to pay for the staggering costs that obesity inflicts on society? If spoon owners refuse to comply, will they have their beloved spoons seized by the city? Or will those like Nancy Pelosi, who own wildly expensive freezers specifically designated to hold their vast collections of custom ice creams, have to pay for these costs? California is wine country, but why shouldn’t those with a wine cellar have to pay for the terrible costs of alcoholism? Or those who own a shot glass?

In reality (a scary place Democrats/progressives/leftists never visit) it’s the city council’s own-- and other leftist lunatic’s policies on a local and national basis-- that cause the destruction of the family, breakdown of morality, dismissal of religion, subsidizing of immoral and destructive behavior, and punishment of traditional Judeo-Christian values that lead to the poverty, addiction, soullessness and hopelessness that cause crime. Oh, and defunding the police doesn’t help, either. It isn’t rocket science. In fact, it’s a simple case of good versus evil.

If our elite progressive rulers were actually worried about “justice,” they would be compensating taxpayers, preferably by not using the money they take from them to make things worse. If they really wanted to be social justice warriors, they would resign. Or become conservatives.

Until they do, the rest of us need to stick to our guns.
