The
U.S. Military Academy, the Army’s legendary college located at West Point, has
recently changed its mission statement by
dropping the words "Duty, Honor, Country,"
Those
previously iconic words are being replaced in the mission statement with “Army
Values,” an amorphous, non-specific term that could mean almost anything…or
nothing. But you can be sure dropping “Duty, Honor, Country” means something.
And it is not good…for the Army, the country, or potential recruits.
The
Army should’ve gone farther and been more honest…by replacing “Duty, Honor,
Country” in its mission statement and as its motto.
“Diversity, Equity, Inclusion” would
be a perfect fit.
The direction the U.S. military has
gone under President’s Obama and Biden will surely lead to…”Chaos,
Embarrassment, Defeat.”
