Hamas Attacks Israel, U.S. Edition

 

Knocking on heaven’s door.

The way things are going, that is what we all may be doing soon, whether we wish to or not. As if the Russia-Ukraine War, China threat, migrant crisis, rampant inflation, and surging crime rates weren’t enough, we now have a war in the Middle East, with thousands of innocents injured, captured, or dead. Perhaps worst of all, none of these things had to happen. (Israel has, on more than one occasion, offered the Palestinians a two-state solution—their own state—and has been rebuffed each time, because the latter are far more interested in wiping Israel off the map. Hence the latest attacks. True to form, the Biden administration has already essentially urged Israel not to defend itself. It seems to believe that, alone among nations, Ukraine has that right.)

But, this is what does happen when a nation is distracted with lesser things and internal squabbles. This is what happens when you don’t have total control over your border. This is what happens when evil is rewarded, even if by your “friend(s).” This is what happens when your opponents/enemy doesn’t believe you will retaliate in a truly devastating fashion because it believes you to be worried about what others might think. And what those others may think is borne of some combination of naivete, a lack of historical knowledge, or outright willingness to abet evil. Indeed, this is what is likely to occur when you are worried that some will view your response as “too strident,” “aggressive,” or “not commensurate.” (Don’t believe in the concept of good and evil? We’re all just the same? Ever hear of a Bible study group strapping bombs to their torsos and blowing up a madrasa? Speaking of the Bible, it speaks of battles involving Israel.)

And, two decades and change after 911, this is what is coming to America in the near future. We are fighting amongst ourselves. (Or, to be fairer, The Left is incessantly attacking the non-left, particularly the MAGA types it deems “terrorists, though the non-left, including the MAGA types, never really fight back. Hmm.) We are bizarrely distracted by non-issues surrounding gender, drag queens, and climate. Our border is wide open. We have dispensed with the Ten Commandments and instead are welcoming the Church of Satan into our public schools, along with books like “Genderqueer” and “All Boys Aren’t Blue.” Many are pushing for unfettered abortion up to—or just a wee bit after—the moment of birth. Parents, too, whether MAGA or not, are being branded “terrorists” for expressing concern for what their children are being taught. And if they dare to speak up, to challenge those who deem themselves to be “public servants,” they are summarily silenced, removed from the room, or worse. They are “too strident,” and desirous of fomenting hatred and violence, you see. And that is why nothing ever changes, can never change. Hard fact: you get what you tolerate.

In many cases, you also get what you vote for-- and therefore deserve. Unfortunately, there is nearly always “collateral damage,” in this case the lives and fortunes of others. Trump would not have sent another $6 billion dollars to Iran recently. Nor would he have left countless billions of dollars of excellent American military equipment in Afghanistan for the use and edification of the Taliban. (It is also highly likely that the Ukraine-Russia War would either not have occurred or been much shorter in duration if Trump were still in office.)

As Churchill stated repeatedly in his “Wilderness Years,” World War II never needed to happen. That it did is a true tragedy. There is nothing more regrettable than needless death and suffering. (Not even “mean” tweets, no matter how “strident in tone.”) This attack did not need to happen, either.

Appeasement of evil can only lead to one outcome: evil rising, waxing, thriving……winning.

But we never learn from history.

If Israel should decide to heed calls for “restraint,” the bombing—and the bloodshed—will never cease. Unless, perhaps, fire comes down from heaven.

 

 

Of Barbeques And Beheadings

The Biden administration keeps blathering on about how precious “our democracy” is, and how keen they are to defend it.

They are far more sanguine about Israel, the only true democracy in the Middle East. The White House hosted a lovely barbeque, replete with a live band, as—and after—reports surfaced that Israel was under multi-pronged attacks from the Iranian sponsored terrorist group Hamas. Hundreds of Israelis were reported dead, thousands injured and missing. Hamas took numerous hostages, and raped and beheaded others. Several Americans were among those slaughtered.

As war was thrust upon Israel, ostensibly America’s ally, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden hosted a Rose Garden barbeque for White House Executive Residence staff and their families.

One can only imagine the dialogue:

“Terrible what happened in Israel, isn’t it?”

“Inexcusable!”

“By-the-way, where’s Commander?”

“Had to send him away to be deprogrammed. He kept biting Secret Service agents…even after I kicked him.”

“Pity, that.”

“Speaking of the Commanders, do you think they will beat the Bears?”

“Hope so!”

“You know, this brisket is excellent! Pass the Foie Gras, please.”

Kamala Harris Claims Youth Afraid To Buy Homes Because Of Climate Change

 

              Vice President Kamala Harris recently told an Allentown, Pennsylvania, news station that “young leaders” are suffering from “climate anxiety,” which is “their fear about…whether they should have children, whether they should ever think about buying a home for fear that it might be wiped out because of extreme weather occurrences.”

              Sales of U.S. homes dropped to a 14-year low in June, but this was due to rampant inflation and rapidly rising mortgage interest rates…and the fact that home prices are at or approaching all-time highs.

              Robert Dietz, chief economist for the National Association of Home Builders, told NPR, "A lot of buyers have been priced out. If you don't have access to the bank of mom and dad to get that down payment, it's very challenging.”

              Harris’ assertion is preposterous. At least I hope it is. If our “young leaders” really are putting off buying homes because they think they will be “wiped out” by “extreme weather occurrences,” we are in existential danger as a society. I know we have grown pathetically soft, but yikes!

              It’s a good thing these young ‘uns didn’t have to make a month-long voyage across the tempestuous Atlantic just to reach this country, like many of their ancestors did. Or travel across the continent in Conestoga wagons after they arrived, dealing with unforgiving wilderness, wild animals, occasionally hostile indigenous peoples, plague, outlaws, severe weather, and an utter lack of infrastructure or hospitals. (“Good luck crossing the Rockies!”)

              They would’ve curled up in the fetal position during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl era. And just three or four decades later, “experts” were predicting widespread and prolonged global cooling, with dire consequences for life on Earth. Fortunately, people didn’t quit buying homes despite the predictions of catastrophic climate change.

Nor did the threat of Nuclear Armageddon-- taken deadly seriously throughout much of the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s-- prevent young families from buying homes, having children, and planning a future. So, if young people really are “afraid” to purchase homes today, what changed? Well, the youth did. Why? Because schools, media, and social media, have relentlessly exaggerated the threat of climate change and extreme weather events, both in terms of frequency and severity. “Helicopter parents,” who hover over their kids in an attempt to protect them from…life…didn’t help, either. Nor did the deliberate feminization of the nation by “progressive” groups.

There are no Marlboro Men anymore. If there were, the country wouldn’t be at death’s door, even if a few of them would be.

 

 

 

Dare To Acknowledge Reality At Your Own Risk

 

David Bloch, a high school snowboarding coach, has filed a lawsuit against his former employers alleging that he was fired for intimating that men can typically outperform women in sports.

 The federal lawsuit, against the leaders of Woodstock Union High School, was filed in Vermont and states that Bloch was wrongly accused of violating the school district’s harassment and bullying policy-- for referencing a student “in a manner that questioned the legitimacy and appropriateness of [a] student competing on the girls’ team.” Yes, because that student is a boy.

According to an Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) news release, a roughly three-minute conversation took place this past February when Bloch’s team competed against another team in the female division, one of whose members was a biological male (who identifies as a female).

The Alliance’s news release stated: “Before the competition, Coach Bloch overheard two of his student-athletes having a discussion about that male competing against females, and he stepped into the conversation. Coach Bloch said that people can express themselves differently and that there can be masculine women and feminine men. But he also acknowledged the biological reality that males and females have different DNA, and he shared his belief that the physical differences between men and women give men an athletic advantage.” Bloch acknowledged biological reality? He’s lucky he didn’t get the death penalty! Does he not know that telling the truth is now utterly verboten, a capital offense? Where has he been these past several years?

The competition took place without incident. And Bloch’s attorneys allege the coach never even referred to the transgender athlete by name. Yet, the very next day, Bloch was informed of his “immediate termination,” according to his attorneys. Well, you know what they say: “The truth shall set you free.” From your job that is.

As if  this isn’t bad enough, Senior faculty at Long Island University (LIU) recently sent the university’s American Club chapter a letter demanding that it submit a DEI action plan and attend LGBT training as penance for declaring that men are not women on social media. The unmitigated gall! The sheer chutzpah! Men are not women? Next, the obviously “far-right” and extremist “American Club” will have the audacity to assert that blue is not pink, black is not white, triangles aren’t squares, four is not five, a lion is not a cheetah-- and that truth and lies are somehow different.

Even infamous atheist Richard Dawkins has been accused of “transphobia” and “violent speech” for saying “Sex is binary.” And he doesn’t even believe in God (“male and female He created them”).

People in power are now routinely punishing those who are not for stating obvious truths. There is no clearer indication of institutional corruption than that. And there is no clearer sign of impending societal collapse.

 

A Red State University Says Faculty Must "Accept And Encourage Change That Is For The Greater Good"

 

West Virginia university recently added a requirement for incoming faculty, spelled out in faculty appointment letters, to “accept and encourage change that is for the greater good.” This prompted the Foundation for Individual Rights in Expression (FIRE) to write WVU, telling school officials that the requirement infringes on the scholars’ expressive rights.

In a July 27 memo to University President E. Gordon Gee, FIRE stated: “Requirements that faculty ‘accept and encourage change that is for the greater good’ and avoid speech that ‘reflects adversely on the image of the University’ … lack clear definitions and that, in turn, lack clear parameters for compliance.” The missive further noted: “Vague directives are also, by their nature, ripe for abuse as they require administrators make inherently subjective judgments and can all too easily be used — and frequently are — to punish faculty who engage in speech or scholarship that may be controversial or which an administrator dislikes, for any reason.” FIRE also noted that “Refusal to sign the appointment letter could result in a faculty member’s dismissal.”

As always throughout history, “for the greater good” go individual rights and the notions of natural law…and freedom.

              “For the greater good” means, if you are in the minority (of anything), you are likely screwed. And, as individuals, we are all a “minority of one,” the ultimate minority. So, do you like your home? Sorry, it’s in the way of plans for a community center/public park/bike path. You’ve gotta give it up for the greater good. Wanna keep your hunting rifle? That’s as may be, but we in government think it presents a hazard to many other people, so hand it over. Fond of your burger, your gas stove, your gas car, your gas lawnmower? Too bad, you can’t have them…because we say they are bad for the climate. The greater good, you know.

Are you refusing to comply with a stranger’s demands that you address them by their preferred pronouns? Have you expressed support for J.K. Rowling or Jason Aldean on social media? Are you a “MAGA” supporter who is planning to vote for Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election? So sorry, but we can’t allow that. You must be ostracized, punished, or cancelled (one way or another) for the greater good.

It's odd how eerily similar this is to what the colonists faced prior to gaining Independence from England. Those who didn’t properly address British troops or certain loyalists were ostracized. Those who expressed support for Samuel Adams, John Adams, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, et. al., were targeted for punishment. Those who signed the Declaration of independence knew they were putting their lives and fortunes at dire risk. But they deemed their sacred honor to be more important.

And no group of people in human history have ever done more “for the greater good.”

It is time to push back against those who would take from us the rights and freedoms the founders bequeathed us. It is time to let the elites who rule over us know that Natural Law cannot be repealed.

It is time for The Second American Revolution.

And that would truly be “For the greater good.”

 

 

Caltech Joins Colleges Lowering Admissions Requirements

 

The California Institute of Technology (Caltech) is altering its admissions requirements in an effort to make access to the previously competitive university more “equitable.” Therefore, it is no longer requiring applicants to have already taken calculus, physics and chemistry in high school. According to The Los Angeles Times, prior to this decision, Ashley Pallie-- Caltech’s executive director of undergraduate admissions-- began to question whether the requirements were unfair to students from less advantaged backgrounds. Ergo, Caltech dropped its calculus, chemistry, and physics requirements.

Call me a skeptic, but this seems “problematic,” as the wokesters are wont to say, especially for an engineering school.

So the dismantling of standards continues apace. Liberal arts schools eschew previously popular classical courses like Western Civilization and Western Literature. Debate and rhetoric are now all but extinct, having given way to more progressive disciplines like women’s studies and gender race theory.

So to hell with calculus, physics and chemistry. Say good-bye to “STEM” classes. (And Shakespeare, for that matter.)

A new class list for the fall 0f 2024, regardless of the educational institution, might look very much like this:

American colleges and universities were once a net good, challenging—and opening-- minds and driving invention and entrepreneurship. Today, too many act as cancers on our culture, poisoning—and indoctrinating-- minds and promulgating disdain of excellence and hatred of America. These soul-deadening institutions sap families of money, unity and hope, extoll credentialism and globalism…and attempt to export this toxic mix to other lands in the guise of “progress.”

For the good of society, we must do our best to return universities to what they once were. Even if we ultimately prove unsuccessful in that endeavor, we must give it the old college try.

 

New Poll Finds French Youth Favor Bans On Air Travel

 

A new poll conducted by research firm Consumer Science and Analytics Institute (CSA) found that 41% of French citizens would support banning people from flying more than four times in their lives in an attempt to combat climate change. That number rose to an incredible 59% among 18-24-year-olds. The proposed limit, suggested by engineer Jean-Marc Jancovici, would apply to air travel for business and pleasure combined. The poll, which surveyed 1,010 French residents 18 and over, found that support for air travel restrictions in general was far higher among younger age groups. (Yet I doubt many of them would be keen to give up flights to Ibiza, Côte d’Azur, Berlin or Prague, for example.)

This should be seen for what it is: a scary example of tyrannical virtue signaling.

How did Jean-Marc Jancovici, engineer, arrive at four as the number at which flights should be capped? Does the length of the flight(s) matter? What kind of airplane? And he’s considering flying to a party on Ibiza on par with traveling to a family wedding or funeral?

It’s unbelievable how willing many folks are to believe…anything. The “progressive” Left is turning Western nations into moron factories. Precisely how many annual train trips should Europeans be allowed to take? How many trips by automobile should we all be “allowed” each year? What is the maximum mileage bequeathed to us by our elite rulers? Ships? Should we be limited to one cruise in our lifetimes?

For that matter, how many times can we mow our lawn, Mr. Jancovici? Should we be allowed to have a lawn? May we set our air-conditioning in the summer to 74? No? 78? 84? Can those of us that experience extremely cold winters turn the heat up to 70? 65? Is 58° okay? (All temperatures in Fahrenheit for the edification of European readers.)

Is owning a snowmobile verboten? An ATV? Motorboat? Certainly a rowboat would be tolerable, no? Although they, too, need to be manufactured…using much energy and materials and causing greenhouse gases to be injected into the atmosphere. Come to think of it, it’s the same for bicycles and skateboards and running shoes, and…

Seems like the politicians and “experts” are telling us to “go fly a kite.”

Unless we are diligent and determined, it is likely just a matter of time until we are locked down and confined to our abodes once again.

 

Canadian Cabinet Spends Money Like A Drunken Sailor During Retreat To Discuss...Inflation

 

According to records obtained by Blackrock’s Reporter, members of Prime Minster Justin Trudeau’s cabinet spent $275,469 at a three-day retreat to discuss inflation. Cabinet members spent $46, 266 on food alone at the ritzy Vancouver Hyatt hotel, much of it at a café while enjoying a “millionaire’s cut” steak and lobster plate for $88. (The Vancouver Hyatt is known for its high-price restaurant menu, where a basic burger costs $29.) Moreover, room charges amounted to $129,469, and private security guards cost an additional $11,533-- despite the fact that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) were onsite. Ironically, the retreat came hard on the heels of Trudeau telling Canadian families that the impact of global inflation was hitting Canadians “particularly through rising food and gasoline costs.” Tragicomically, Trudeau simultaneously claimed he was working hard to “further strengthen the economy to meet the needs of Canadians, making life more affordable for families.” 

Trudeau’s office said the cabinet retreat was convened to focus on “continued efforts to make life more affordable for Canadians and keep delivering economic growth that benefits anyone.” Or at least those who work for the Vancouver Hyatt.

               Tone deaf? Ask California Gov. Gavin (“French Laundry”) Newsome. Pass the caviar.

 

U.S. Education Secretary Says Parents Are "Misbehaving"

 

In an interview about the state of education in the U.S., Education Secretary Miguel Cardona called out parents he says are “misbehaving in public” and “acting like they know what’s right for kids.”  He further noted that he doesn’t respect their actions, particularly at school board meetings.

This illustrates a truly remarkable—and dangerous-- combination of hubris, hypocrisy, and ignorance. Cardona is blind to the fact that he is acting like a parent…to the parents he is accusing of “misbehaving in public.” And he simply assumes he knows what is right for them-- and their children. Cardona, like all authoritarians, also assumes that those in government, whether they happen to be parents or not, somehow know better than the citizens they supposedly represent…how those citizens should live their lives. This is first-level asshattery.

Meanwhile, Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom, a parent himself, recently expressed concern about his son's interest in Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson. In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Newsom stated: "I really worry about the misinformation, disinformation, about what's happening with our country, but I really worry about these micro-cults that my kids are in. I say micro-cults because I don't know if there's a better way to describe it. My son is asking me about Andrew Tate, Jordan Peterson. And then immediately he's talking about Joe Rogan. And I'm like, here it is, the pathway."

Newsome presides over a state covered in homeless camps, human feces and spent syringes. The erstwhile Golden State is beset with poverty and unemployment and racked by crime, violent and otherwise. And he is troubled that his son is listening to Jordan Petersen?! He should be thrilled. Newsome speaks of Rogan as if he is some sort of gateway drug, a conduit to even worse broadcasters. (Like, maybe, Rachel Maddow or Joy Reid?)

Listening to Rogan or Peterson doesn’t put one in a micro-cult. Micro-cults are the domain of transgenders, groomers, Marxists, and Antifa, Gov. Newsome. You of all people should know that. Your state is full of them. And crap.

 

 

 

 

 

President Biden To Go After "Surprise" Concert Fees

 

President Biden is laser-focused on what matters most to the American people. He made this clear once again with this recent tweet post on X:

Concert tickets are hard enough to get, you shouldn’t have to pay surprise service fees on top of that. My Administration is working to crack down on those junk fees, so you know what you are paying for up front.

 

Praise the Lord! The president is zealously upholding our Constitutional right to see the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, and Maren Morris without those nagging service fees. Most of us don’t mind paying, say, $2,000 to see Taylor Swift perform for two hours, but, dammit, we can’t countenance those $50 service fees! Forget abortion, this is the issue of our time.

Rising taxes. Rising crime. Rising gas and food prices. General inflation. The open border and resultant human trafficking and fentanyl deaths. Endless wars. Decreasing life expectancy. Increasing anxiety and hopelessness. These are but trifles! But, by God, say goodbye to exorbitant junk fees on concert tickets!

And say “hello” to Beyoncé.
