Majority Leader Charles Schumer recently dropped the Senate
dress code, in a nod to Democratic Sen. John Fetterman, who often shows up
wearing shorts and a hoodie.
Subsequently, 46 Republicans wrote to Schumer, imploring him
to reinstate the dress code, Susan Collins among them. Collins jokingly
threatened to wear a
bikini to the Senate
chambers, since there is “no dress code
anymore.” Yikes.
If Diane Feinstein
shows up in a bikini, or Schumer or Fetterman appear wearing a Speedo, the Capitol might be subjected to an actual insurrection.
And we won’t even
contemplate Mitch McConnell…
