The times they are a’ changin’. Not
too long ago, college students were chanting “Hell no, we won’t go!” In 1985,
young people were singing “We are the world.”
Today,
they are shouting “We are Hamas!” And “Long live Hamas!”
Disgustingly, it’s the same refrain on campuses across the fruited plain,
though the terrorist-identifiers and lovers are much more common, in fact
virtually ubiquitous, at pricier schools in the Ivy League, northeast, Midwest,
and West coast.
1985:
“We are the world.”
2024: “We are Hamas.”
2064?: I’m not sure I want to know. If
we are even here at all.
