The relatively progressive and newly
installed Pope Leo XIV recently sent a clear signal about how his pontificate
views gender and family roles. Speaking to the Vatican’s diplomatic corps on
May 16, 2025, the 69-year-old pontiff affirmed that the family is “founded upon
the stable union between a man and a woman.” Imagine that, the only coupling
capable of producing children.
Pope Leo XIV also remarked that “the
idea of promoting gender ideology is confusing because it seeks to create
genders that don’t exist. So God created man and woman, and the attempt to
confuse ideas from nature will only harm families and people.” No shit. But
boring.
So boring. I mean, the Pope’s comments are so, like, yesterday! Not hip or cool at all.
Like, a real downer. Dude, Pope Leo is harshing my mellow!
“Like, what right does the church have
to tell me what to do? And, like, did the new Pope even get vaccinated
against the Coronavirus? Like, I’d like to know. ‘Cuz, like, if he didn’t, he
has no authority, right?”
