News You Can Use!

News You Can Use:

*Students at the University of the Highlands and Islands in Scotland are informed, prior to their reading assignment, that “The Old Man and the Sea” includes descriptive fishing passages, according to the Daily Mail, which obtained a copy of the warning through a public records act request. The university cautions its students that the classic Ernest Hemingway novel contains “graphic fishing scenes” that may upset some readers. Fishing scenes? Dear God! What’s next, graphic camping scenes? Dodgeball vignettes? (But lopping off kids’ body parts must be supported to foster the transgender movement or you’re a monster.)

*The Senate Armed Services Committee recently released a draft policy proposing cuts to military recruiting goals for fiscal year 2024 to avoid further lowering standards to compensate for declining enlistment numbers. The committee's draft legislation found that the Department of Defense's requested end strengths were "unattainable" given the current recruiting challenges. This is all working well! Bring on China! Can’t get enough recruits and can’t lower standards much more? “Eureka!” let’s just pretend we don’t need any more recruits! What the hell, we’ve lowered the standards for everything else, including “standards,” so where’s the harm? If a “woman” can now have a penis, it shouldn’t raise any eyebrows if we now pretend that we don’t need more people in our military.

*Aaron Sibarium of The Washington Free Beacon recently wrote an article noting that New York University recently hosted a whites-only "anti-racism" workshop for public school parents in New York City, barring minorities from the five-months-long seminar. Unsurprisingly, legal experts say this was a brazen violation of civil rights law. More like the way “progressives” think today. We look forward to the school’s male-only anti-sexism training,

*The California Public Safety Committee recently voted down a bill, on a party-line vote, that would have enhanced penalties for child sex trafficking by making it a “serious felony,” which is a step up from merely being illegal. Democrats would have none of that. Really? What is the thought process of these freaks? “A ‘serious’ crime, you say? Child sex-trafficking? Um, well…that’s a tough one. Six one, half dozen the other. I’m kinda on the fence on this one. Maybe a misdemeanor? I mean, it’s not good, but it’s also not like they were misgendered.” Unbelievable. Or I wish it were.
