Student Attacked For Wearing "Make America Great Again Hat"

A 12-year-old student in St. Louis was accosted and punched while on a school bus…for wearing a hat that said “Make America Great Again.” It is heartwarming to know that, in today’s America, if you wear a cap wishing your own country well, you stand a good chance of being assaulted.
Cell-phone video of this most ludicrous of hate crimes shows a group of students ganging up on the young boy and shouting, “So you wanna build a wall? You wanna build a wall?” before taking swings at him.
What disciplinary action did the school district take to prevent further egregious behavior of this sort? The boy who was the victim of the unprovoked attack was suspended from school.
The youth’s mother, Christina Cortina, is understandably outraged about the attack- and the suspension. “I saw him being berated and bullied and beat, literally beat, because he feels strongly about the world today,” she told KMOV television.
A Parkway School District Representative said all students involved in the attack have faced “consequences” following a full investigation. What complete bullshit.
You can wear practically anything to, in and around most public schools these days- or practically nothing for that matter- and almost all your peers are “down with it.” You can claim you’re a girl if you’re a boy- and vice versa- and use the bathroom and locker room facilities of your choice, and the powers that be bend over backwards to protect you. But it’s simply, clearly beyond the pale to don a lid that sports one presidential candidate’s campaign slogan urging citizens to help better their country? Funny, I don’t remember anyone being intimidated and beaten for carrying or wearing items that stated “change we can believe in” back in 2008 and 2012.
Obama put a thugocracy firmly in place, even though he himself was the most feminine of leaders. He took his community agitator bit to the White House, and agitated the entire nation. The only individual he cared about was himself. He saw everyone else only in terms of the group to which he assigned them. He gave an identity to “identity politics,” paving the way for the staggering number of acts of “anti-Trump” violence we’ve recently experienced.
If this kind of herd mentality is countenanced, if this rabid, swarming, piranha-like attack on free speech and independent thought is tolerated, there will be no way to make America great again.

Which, of course, is exactly what these attacks are all about.

Global Warming Causing Tree Roots To Freeze, Study Says

This just in: climate change may lead to the demise of the yellow cedar tree.

The tree, valued for commercial as well as cultural uses, once thrived in soggy soil from Northern California to Alaska. However, experts now say global warming could cause the species to bite the big one within 50 years. The tree is named for its distinctive yellow wood, and is already under consideration to be granted threatened or endangered species status.
An independent study, published in the journal Global Change Biology (appointment reading), found that the trees were dying due to root freeze across 7 percent of its range, including the areas where it was most common. The study found that snow-cover loss led to colder soil, leading to the trees’ roots freezing, eventually killing them. Researchers believe more of the trees will expire as the climate continues to warm.

The study’s core finding is that global warming is causing tree’s roots to freeze.

Perhaps I’m missing something. Global warming leads to colder soil? If it’s becoming too warm to snow or keep a snowpack, why isn’t it becoming too warm for the trees’ roots to freeze? Snow is just frozen water, but due to atmospheric conditions can fall even when it’s 36, 37, or 38 degrees out, temperatures too warm even to cause anything above ground to freeze.
Allow me two observations: First, if the climate continues to warm and the trees’ roots can still freeze solid, it’s still cold enough to snow. Second, if the climate continues to warm and things can still die by freezing solid, it’s really not dangerously warm, at least not in those locations, is it?

Then again, I’m not a trained scientist.

Burger King Drive-Through Gone To Pot

Police in Epping, New Hampshire arrested two employees at a local Burger King recently, after verifying that they were utilizing the restaurant’s drive-through to sell marijuana. After obtaining significant evidence of the drug-selling, they conducted a sting operation along with the local sheriff’s department and the county attorney, which substantiated the claims and culminated in the arrest of a male employee and his female shift supervisor.
Apparently, buyers would pull up to the first drive-through window and ask for “Nasty Boy.” If he was working, the potheads would have to ask for their fries to be “extra crispy” in order to receive their weed. Then money and dope would be exchanged at the second drive-through window, with the pot in a separate container from any food that may have been purchased.
Police said they had heard rumors that employees were selling illicit drugs through “some” fast food restaurants, but that none of them could be substantiated until now. Officers also stated that the operation was restricted to the two employees arrested and didn’t involve the franchise owners. The two (assumedly) former employees were released on personal recognizance and will be arraigned February 28th.
I would love to have been privy to some of the drive-through conversations between Nasty Boy and his clientele:
Nasty Boy: “Welcome to Burger King, Mo-Fos, what would you like?”
Clients (in low-rider car): “Like, we are so hungry for some fries, dude. But, like, make ‘em extra crispy if you know what I mean! We want to be that crispy soon, too, NB!”
Nasty Boy: “Have it your way, dudes. It’ll take two hands to handle this whopper! I’ve got you covered, homey. Extra crispy with a little herb it is! Please pull ahead.”
Druggies: “Like, can we just stay here, ‘cuz were gonna need some serious snackage soon, my man?”
Perhaps pot culture is more endemic at Burger King than we know. Could help explain BK’s  trippy and irritating “Croissan’wich” commercials.

Texas Teacher Shoots Trump Image In Classroom, Shouts "Die!"

A Dallas, Texas high school art teacher was watching the inauguration of Donald Trump on a whiteboard in her classroom when she jumped up and lunged at the image of President Trump, repeatedly fired a squirt gun at it, and yelled “die!”
The school district wouldn’t say if- or how many- students witnessed the ersatz assassination attempt, but voices can be heard in the background of the video the teacher posted to her Instagram account. Yes, the savvy educator actually posted the faux assassination video along with the message: “Watching the #inauguration in my classroom like…#no #stop #denial #squirtgun #hypocrisy #powerless #saveusall #teachthembetter #atleastitsfriday.”
“#Teach them better?” Like you just did? Talk about “#hypocrisy?” This brilliant instructor just committed the Mother of All Hypocrisies. School kids routinely get sent home for wearing a shirt with a picture of a firearm on it, or for even pointing their fingers at a classmate in an aggressive manner and saying “bang.” What is she doing with a squirt gun in class? Clearly this was a hate crime. Maybe she’ll claim it was “performance art.”

I’m sure she has sadly reflected on the events that occurred shortly after noon on November 22nd, 1963, as she should have. Yet, here she is, a teacher in Dallas, staging a fake- but apparently desired- assassination shortly after noon in a classroom on the day a president is inaugurated? And, to top it all off, she thinks the inauguration reeks of “hypocrisy,” and that she is by definition a better teacher than those whose students somehow grew up to vote for Trump?
Mind-boggling, but tragically no longer surprising.
The school district has placed the teacher on administrative leave, and said in a statement: “This is a personnel matter and as such we cannot comment.”

                Fortunately, I can: “#fireherass.”

Riots Break Out At The University Of California-Berkeley

Hundreds of radical scum rioted at the University of California Berkeley recently, rampaging, pillaging, looting, burning stores, throwing Molotov cocktails, clashing with police, and forcing the university to cancel an event featuring the gay, conservative, immigrant-and Breitbart editor- Milo Yiannopoulos.
The ever-so-tolerant-and-inclusive leftists’ violent, criminal actions prevented Yiannopoulos from presenting his remarks...defending free speech.
Visiting assistant art professor Samara Haplerin told the Daily Californian: “I’m outraged that Milo has been given a platform at UC-Berkeley, and there should be no place for him here. He should be scared that people aren’t going to stand for this.” Visiting assistant art professor? Why does the mainstream media think that art professors, let alone visiting assistant ones, deserve to be taken seriously when discussing politics, government and current events? There should be no place for him here? Don’t we all belong here? He should be scared that people aren’t going to stand for this? Why? What are you gonna do to ‘em, Sam, fit him for cement shoes? Maybe he could use one of your school’s “safe spaces?” No?!
The maniacal mob attacked several Trump supporters, as well, though that’s now simply de rigueur. One was grabbed by a group of rioters and tossed to the ground. He fled, leaving his red hat behind. They lit it on fire. Police rescued another who was bloodied and beaten. One young lady wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat was being interviewed by a television crew when she was accosted by a man who pepper-sprayed her face.
The demented horde also smashed windows at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Student Union, and damaged a Starbucks. Dr. King would’ve been so proud. And memo to marauding morons: Starbucks is arguably the most liberal, “progressive” company in the country.
UC-Berkeley’s Chancellor, Nicholas Dirks, rightfully decried the bullying and violence, and said the school’s values “include the enabling of free expression across the full spectrum of opinion and perspective.” Though he couldn’t resist adding that “Yiannopoulos’ views, tactics and rhetoric are profoundly contrary to those of the campus.” Milo’s tactics? You mean like his tactic of showing up to talk about free speech? Shouldn’t we be substantially more concerned about the tactics of the deranged throng attacking people and smashing private and public property?
                No one was arrested.
Yiannopoulos, a British journalist, characterized the violence and mayhem as a “horrible spectacle and very humiliating for American higher education.”
Ms. Haplerin and Chancellor Dirks, because of terroristic threats, and the violence surrounding  your schools’ campus, Milo was given no platform to defend free speech. And, when free speech isn’t protected, we all pay dearly.

Colleges used to know that. In fact, they used to teach it.

Clickbait

Anyone who surfs the internet is now intimately acquainted with “click-bait,” those odd little “ads” appealing to our more prurient natures in an all-out attempt to get us to click on a link to an otherwise obscure website. The hallmark of such links is the jarring yet deliberate disconnect between the description of the site and what is pictured immediately above said description to entice you to visit it. On the one hand, we think to ourselves, “who would be dumb enough to click on that,” just before we…can’t help ourselves…and click on that. Oh, and there is no other hand.
Here is a real-life example of the genre’: online earlier today, I saw a link with the wording, “Why Do The Amish Keep These Practices Secret?” I’m not kidding. The picture above was of a stunningly beautiful young girl in a nearly see-through top sporting an almost sinful come-hither look. I will break this to you now: Santa Claus doesn’t exist and neither does this Amish girl, no matter how fervently we wish they did. And, if the site actually even deigns to mention an Amish secret, it’s typically something akin to: “Don’t over-agitate with the butter churn.”
These ridiculous virtual teases and temptresses will read something like: “Who Really Built Stonehenge? The Answer May Shock You.” Above it will be a picture of a Playboy bunny, replete with white fluffy tail. You will also often come across one such as, “37 Things You Didn’t Know A Penis Can Do,” or “19 Uses For Cream Cheese That You Probably Never Thought Of.” If you haven’t already clicked on these, trust me, it’s not worth your time.
One frequently encounters another common category of click-bait: “Historical Photos You Can’t Un-See. Number 17 Will Drive You To Drink.” Above that will be an obviously faked World War II era photo of a gal sporting erect nipples the size of soda-straws straining against her sheer blouse, leaning against a P-51 Lightning, with eyes fairly begging you to take her for a spin in the wild blue yonder. Enter at your own risk. You’ll land before you ever take flight.
So, before you click on “Tina Louise Was Beautiful Then, But You Won’t Believe What She Looks Like Now—Picture Number Six Will Curl Your Toenails,” set down your drink and think twice.

There’s still time to save your dignity.

God And Women At Emory

Julie Chen is a junior at Emory College, and the vice-president of finance for the school’s college council. She is also determined to be a latter-day Rosa Parks. A year ago, only a sophomore, she started a drive to help students get access to free tampons on campus. She circulated a petition to gauge interest in her nascent civil-rights campaign. Within a week, it had garnered over 900 positive responses. Prodded by the power of populism, Emory altered its tampon dispensers at three campus locations: an academic building, the library, and, of course, a dining hall. These three machines will now spit out tampons gratis. If they get enough use, the program would likely become a permanent, campus-wide initiative.
Chen says she’s heard many positive responses and added: “One girl left a comment that said, ‘If men had a need for tampons, they’d be falling out of the sky.’”

I don’t see Gold Bond powder raining down from the heavens, ladies.

I have written about this topic twice in the recent past. (11/30/2016, 9/25/2016). Emory students are not alone in their valiant struggle to get other people to pay for their personal hygiene products. Co-eds at colleges across the Fruited Plain are demanding free menstrual products. The issue is sweeping the nation.

We are in the midst of a Menstrual Spring.

According to (Deep?) Inside Higher Ed, the University of Arizona, Columbia University, Reed College, and the University of Minnesota are among the rapidly growing list of institutions of higher learning that have launched similar programs.
Said Erin Deal, the infrastructure committee director at the University of Minnesota Student Association: “They’re a necessity. They’re a sanitation item. Every female has a period in some form.” Period!
Toilet paper and the aforementioned Gold Bond products are sanitation items, too, but I pay for my own, Ms. Deal. Period.
The city of New York passed legislation in July to provide free menstrual products in all public schools, shelters and correctional facilities. Why stop there? Why not libraries, DMVs, city halls, bus stops and subway stations?
Those plucky freedom fighters on the front lines of the battle to Free the Tampon stand bloody, but unbowed, before the reactionary forces of male-dom. Chris Bobel, president of the Society for Menstrual Cycle Research (SMCR), believes we do ‘menstruators’ a great disservice  by not paying “adequate and non-normalized, non-panicked attention to it.”
                Huh?
He further believes that schools and colleges must also have a “menstrual discourse” that openly talks about periods in order to remove the stigma. Should we do the same with men’s erections?
Ms. Chen says that Emory’s program has already started a conversation on menstrual health. “Talking to other people, it’s taught me that it’s important for equality purposes. It’s a good step in the right direction of equality and prioritizing women’s health.” Prioritizing equality over…? Sounds oxymoronic.
Getting others to pay for your personal hygiene products? Moronic.

As the Brits might say: “Bloody Hell!”

Philadelphia Imposes Tax On Soda

The city of Philadelphia tried to sugar-coat it, but the first big-city soda tax in the country is not sitting well with the town’s residents. Philadelphians are not happy with the 1.5 cent per ounce tax which can add up to several dollars on even single purchases of packs and larger bottles.
David McCorkle, CEO of the Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association, said: “The magnitude of this tax is historic and Philadelphian consumers can’t afford it.” In a photo that went viral after being posted on Facebook, a receipt shows over $3 in tax added to the cost of a $5.99 12-pack of Propel. The tax applies not only to sodas, but also to energy drinks (such as Propel), zero-calorie diet beverages, juice, and even milk substitutes for those who are lactose intolerant.
Jim Kenney, Philadelphia’s Mayor, originally proposed the tax last March; it passed the City Council 13-4. The levy, which took effect January 1st, is intended to be used to fund things such as libraries, parks and recreation centers, and the city’s pre-K programs. Kenney spokesperson Mike Dunn, not giving it to the citizens straight, told FoxNews.com that it isn’t technically a sales tax. He said: “The Philadelphia Beverage Tax is a tax on the distribution of sweetened beverages intended for retail; it is not a sales tax to be paid by the consumer and collected by the retailer.” This absurdity is typical of government bureaucrats who have no understanding of basic economics. When you set the rules and don’t have to play by them, you end up acting like a parasite, not a host.
The mayor’s office further illustrated its ignorance and condescension by stating that dealers and distributors could choose whether to increase prices: “Since it is not a sales tax, distributors…do not have to pass it down to their customers, the dealers. They could choose to slightly lessen their seven-figure bonuses, for example.” The distributors have to pay the tax, contributing to the overall cost of providing the product, which then largely determines the price of the product, dumb-asses. Those arbitrarily taxed could choose to make less margin then those not charged with (directly) paying it, but that would make them more likely to cut pay, eliminate jobs, or go out of business, thus reducing the tax base. Funny, those in public office, elected or otherwise, never seem to want to reduce their yearly compensation, or their retirement packages. And they don’t make things, they take them.
Both the real reason(s) for- and the ultimate result of- this tax are too obvious to require elaboration to anyone who is familiar with bureaucrats and economics. The mayor’s office itself proudly states that it has established a “Healthy Beverages Tax Credit” to help smaller stores that may see a downturn in their sales because of the new tax. This credit will be gallantly offered to “qualifying merchants who increase their inventory of healthy beverages.” How sweet.
So, even though the City of Brotherly Love’s leaders don’t think the tax should have any effect on retailers or consumers, they are offering tax credits to those retailers who stock healthier drinks? Both the tax credits and retailers carrying a higher percentage of healthier beverages (not subject to this tax) would decrease the amount of tax revenue the city fathers and mothers claim is so desperately needed. Truth-be-told, they really want to control people’s lives and dictate what they can and can’t do…and drink. Many in government crave this power for its own sake (maybe it’s like a “sugar high” to them), others truly believe they know what’s best for everybody else, too.
Of course, the end result of this tax will be that the city’s rascally and intransigent consumers will go elsewhere to shop. And, when they are shopping in nearby towns unaffected by this tax, they won’t just buy soda. The city of Philadelphia may see sales declines in areas other than soft drinks. And that may be a bitter pill to swallow.

Well, you know what they say: “A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.”

Democrats Now Proud Obstructionists

Democrats have decided on their “strategy” for dealing with President Trump: dig in, resist and obstruct, while mocking and embarrassing him at every opportunity. After many meetings and countless conversations, top party officials have determined that an unyielding, hard-line, in-your-face obstructionism is the only way to placate a party base rabid with rage.
The Democratic Party held a conference recently to consider who should be the next Chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). New Hampshire party chairman Raymond Buckley, attending the soirée, was asked if Democrats should try to work with the President, at least where it could find opportunities to do so. He responded: “That’s a question that’s absolutely ridiculous.”
Washington Governor Jay Inslee added: “They were entitled to a grace period and they blew it. It’s been worse than I could have imagined, the first few days. They were entitled to a grace period, but it was midnight the night of the inauguration to eight o’clock the next morning, when the administration sent out people to lie about numerous significant things. And the damage to the credibility of the presidency has already been profound.”
Translation: “He didn’t do what we wanted him to do.” And he has the gall to accuse Trump of doing damage to the presidency after Barrack Obama’s reign?! Say what you will about the President, but he doesn’t hate his own country. In fact, he is courageously attempting to repair some of the damage to the country that his predecessor intentionally inflicted.
Democratic leaders seem to believe that the vast numbers of people who took to the streets in anti-Trump rallies inaugural weekend illustrate an opportunity for the erstwhile DFL to become a full-fledged resistance party, steadfastly opposing nearly everything the President is trying to do and grinding government to a halt.
Of course, Democrats believe they have every right to do this, even though they have routinely gone ballistic in the past when they believed Republicans weren’t acquiescing quickly enough to every whim and directive they put forward when they held power. They claim this right to an oppose-at-all-costs stratagem now in part because they consider Trump a “norm-violating” and “deeply polarizing” figure.
But, when you wish to harness the power of the Mongol Hordes, you should be aware that things can get messy. In the past, Republicans have made a habit of compromising and surrendering at the first sign of conflict. However, it’s just possible those now threatened with such an onslaught may feel they have to fight back and press on or see their ideals and their country perish forever.
                They would be right.
Despite their own aggressive bluster, some Democrats seem a little uncertain of how to interact with Trump, who many feel is uniquely mercurial.
Former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said of Trump: “We’ve never seen anything like him. This isn’t ideological. He’s taken this to places we’ve never been. He’s said things we’ve never heard from a commander in chief.”

                Someone sounds…jealous.

Trump's Torrid Start

Has any other president in history had a more dramatically effective (if controversial) start than Donald Trump has? I doubt it. In office for just over a week, he has already acted on most of his major campaign promises! He signed legislation authorizing construction of a wall on the Mexican border, is putting a temporary, targeted moratorium on immigration, has pumped-up American businesses, many of whom are talking about expanding inside of the U.S., has put Churchill’s bust back in the Oval Office, helped improve the country’s relations with important allies like Britain and Israel, given new life to the Keystone pipeline (and possibly to new life itself, as in unborn babies)…and, by-the-way, the stock market has gained over $2 trillion since he was elected- and ended last week at an all-time record high. Whew.

What’s on tap for next week, Mr. President?

Politicians just don’t act like that, do they? No they don’t, but therein lies the key: Trump is not a politician and never was. Over time many Americans forgot that the country was supposed to have a limited, citizen-government, not a massive government run by oleaginous career politicians essentially unaccountable for their grievous overreach.
Obviously the President can’t sustain this blistering pace, and there will be ever-increasing pressure on him from establishment Republicans (also known as “blockheads”) to slow down and be more willing to yield to his opponents. (They are already in full-fledged panic mode over the possible repeal of the ludicrously named “Affordable Care Act.” Talk about ‘alternative facts’ and Orwellian speech). They will do this because they are afraid to lose their own grip on power and also don’t wish to be exposed as having been mostly useless and ineffective during their terms.
One thing- and one thing only- is certain. Do not doubt me on this one: leftists and their media will continue to ramp up their rabid and unhinged attacks, desperate to do anything to discredit Trump or remove him from office. Leftists do not tolerate opposing ideas and actions and they know that if time goes by and his policies prove effective, they will be shown to be who they are: hypocritical, fear-mongering losers who intensely dislike the country as founded, and believe only that truth is a lie.
Already I have seen some jaw-dropping distortions and massively misleading reporting from some of the biggest news outlets in the nation. Not to mention a few complete fabrications and outright lies thrown in for good measure. If internet software was really effective, you would get a pop-up message when attempting to access most of the major newspaper’s online sites stating, “Known fraudulent site, we advise you not to enter.”
Can President Trump stay strong, weather the unrelenting leftist storm, and come out the other side four- or even eight- years from now bloodied but unbowed?
The signs are good so far… but, sadly, I doubt it. The left owns the media and academia, lock, stock and barrel. Therefore leftists control the flow and presentation of information. This is true not only of the old, mainstream media, but certainly also of the newer social media giants in Silicon Valley. Moreover, the percentage of colleges and universities not completely given over to progressive ideas is literally too small to be measured.
Additionally, the left is comprised of various special-interest groups: Socialists-Marxists, anarchists, Satanists, LGBTQIA radicals, and raging “pro-choice feminists” among them. All of these groups, with the possible exception of the latter one, are growing.

And all of them will blow up the country if that’s what it takes to get their way.
