Biden administration appointee Rachel Levine was
sworn in today, Tuesday, October 19th, as the nation’s first
transgender four-star officer, the administration announced. Levine, who is
a biological male, was first appointed U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health
before being sworn in as an admiral of the U.S. Public Health Service
Commissioned Corps. The USPHSCC is a 6,000-person task force that responds to
health crises on behalf of the federal government, and is charged with such
things as administering COVID vaccines and caring for people in the aftermath
of hurricanes, etc. Levine is also
the organization's first-ever “female” four-star admiral and the country’s
highest ranking openly transgender official.
Levine
hasn’t fully transitioned. In fact, “she” looks remarkably like a middle-aged
man, largely because “she” is one. Although “she” does look good in
pearls. But, really, who doesn’t?
As
four-star admirals go, Levine is no Chester W. Spruance or William F. “Bull” Halsey.
But, thankfully, “she” isn’t Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, or Chief of Naval
Operations. Let’s hope Levine puts more effort into “her” new job than “she”
does in appearing to be a woman.
Levine
wishes to present as a cow, but that’s just bull. Apologies to Admiral Halsey.
