Canadian Police Warn Citizens Not To Violate Porch Pirates' Privacy. Seriously.

 

According to various online reports, police in the Canadian province of Quebec recently warned citizens not to post surveillance footage of their packages being stolen from their porches, etc., because it could violate the “private life” of the perpetrator/thief.

This despite the fact that the trespasser has violated the victim’s private life—and property—in a likely attempt to commit another crime by stealing merchandise that others have bought and paid for.

This is sadly, but perfectly, illustrative of the bass-ackward world in which we now reside. Officials don’t see anything wrong with violating law-abiding citizens’ rights by, say, listening in on their phone calls or having them frisked and x-rayed before allowing them to board a plane. The alphabet agencies in thrall to the Biden administration didn’t hesitate to imprison—even without charge—numerous American citizens who had the audacity to parade through, or outside of, the “People’s house,” i.e. the Capitol building. Federal, state, and local police and officials have seemingly put up cameras at every intersection. Multiple cameras abound in every store-- and on bridges, poles and posts and other structures. Seemingly everyone is photographed and recorded nearly everywhere.

But, by God, be aware that it is beyond the pale to violate the privacy of perps who have violated your private property on the way to stealing your belongings!

This is no small thing. As Thomas Mann noted, “Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil.”

Whoopi Goldberg Says Trump Would "Disappear" Gays And Journalists

 

“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg recently warned her fellow co-hosts-- and the audience-- that failing to vote for President Biden would be equivalent to voting for former President Donald Trump to round up journalists and gay people. Whoopi claimed Trump would essentially tell them: “I’m going to take all the journalists, I’m going to take all the gay folks, and I’ll move you all around and disappear you.” Talk about a crazy conspiracy theory! Maybe aliens got to her.

We know this is fake news, misinformation. How? Because Trump has already been president for four years and didn’t do any of that. In fact, he appointed Richard Grennell acting director of national intelligence, a cabinet-level position, making Grennell the highest ranking openly gay government official in U.S. history. Nor did he “disappear” any journalists. Not a single one.

Ironically, it seems nearly every leftist and journalist—but I repeat myself—has tried to get rid of Trump… and his supporters. And are still trying to do so.

So, Whoopi, please go take a long walk off a short pier… or otherwise disappear yourself. And take your cohosts with you.

In Praise Of Merit

And we’ve all seen how that has worked out. For all of us. Around the world.

If it wasn't for merit, we wouldn't have the music of Beethoven and Bach, or, for that matter, of Fleetwood Mac and The Rolling Stones. If it wasn't for merit, participating in or watching sports would be an exercise in…watching people exercise. An exercise in futility. If it wasn't for merit, and the relentless pursuit of excellence, we would not have any of the great works of art……or any of the life-changing inventions of the 20th century. Electricity, the light bulb, indoor plumbing and flush toilets. Radio, television, the internet, smart phones. Were it not for merit, we may still be having our teeth pulled while chomping on a towel after imbibing several ounces of whiskey. Were it not for merit, our bridges and skyscrapers wouldn't stand, our trains would derail, our planes fall from the sky.

If not for merit, there would be no light... and no hope.

The emphasis on DEI and equity over competence, merit, and excellence is an existential danger to society. That is not hyperbole.

In summation, the respect for merit is vital to the human condition. Worshipping sloth-- or even mediocrity--and valuing equity above all would be the death knell of civilization.

*According to The Free Press, a public elementary school in Brooklyn, New York, has erased Israel  from a map in one of its classrooms. On the map, of the Arab World, Israel is labeled “Palestine.” From the river to the sea, you know. At this rate, it won’t be long until maps in our public schools omit or rename the United States.

*Washington state Democratic state Reps. My-Linh Thai and Liz Berry have introduced House Bill 2238 imposing an additional 11 percent tax on (already highly taxed) ammunition. The bill also describes the purchase of ammunition as a "privilege.” HB 2238 notes that “nearly half” of all suicides in the state are from firearms. Which would mean that more than half aren’t. If owning ammunition is a “privilege,” and one that lawmakers are trying to make unobtainable for many, our Second Amendment rights are rendered moot.

*Oregon's Supreme Court recently said that it would not hear a challenge from five voters seeking to keep former President Donald Trump off the state's 2024 Republican primary and general election ballots. Five voters?!

*Assisted suicide is legal across Australia. Now, the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) is considering expanding “voluntary assisted dying,” or VAD. Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill 2023 was recently published and will almost certainly pass in 2024-- and would potentially extend to children under 18. So, what’s the big deal? I mean, it’s really just very late term abortion, right?

*Maine has begun paying rent for homeless immigrants living in apartments located in the town of Brunswick. The Pine Tree State has already budgeted nearly $3.5 million to provide 60 migrant families in Brunswick with two years of rent. Free rent, free healthcare, etc. And when we say “Maine,” we mean its taxpayers, of course. Bet they’re thrilled. Taxation without representation?

*A transgender professor reportedly recently provided “cultural inclusion” training to Internal Revenue Service criminal investigators. Judicial Watch noted that agents from the specialized IRS Criminal Investigation (IRSCI) unit were asked if they could “deliver cultural inclusion behaviorally.” Cultural inclusion? Rest assured that the IRS plans on taxing transgendered folk just as it does everyone else.

*A history teacher at a Seattle high school allegedly recently told students that identifying as "straight" is offensive, according to a parent who filed a complaint with school officials. The mother, who requested anonymity, provided a copy of a "Social Identity Wheel" worksheet the teacher assigned to his 10^th-grade class to “The Jason Rantz Show” on KTTH. The worksheet asks students to self-reflect on their various identities, including race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, gender, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, first language, age, religious or spiritual affiliation, and physical, emotional, developmental disability. The parent said her 15-year-old son then labeled himself "straight,” at which point the teacher allegedly told the boy that he needed to pick a term that was less offensive. That is offensive. Talk about “hate speech!” If true, the teacher should be fired immediately. Or should I say, “straight away.”

                         

 

 

 

Jan. 6 An FBI Affair

 

According to Steven D’Antuono, formerly in charge of the FBI’s Washington field office, there were so many paid informants of the FBI at the infamous Jan. 6 Capitol protest the bureau itself lost count of them-- and had to perform an audit to determine exactly how many “Confidential Human Sources” run by the organization’s various field offices were present that day. More recently, some reports indicate that there were at least 200 federal agents or “undercover assets” present on that fateful day.

It appears ever more likely that actual Trump supporters and patriots were baited and led into a trap.

As someone once said, turnabout is fair play. Perhaps Trump supporters/MAGA types and other patriots should dress up as Antifa and BLM members and start burning down buildings and looting stores. On second thought, that won’t work. Recent history shows that no one cares. More to the point, the vast majority of Trump supporters couldn’t bring themselves to do these things, anyway.

Or maybe they could ditch the MAGA hats and American flags and dress up as Democrats and go around the country—indeed the world—proclaiming their disdain for the United States, its founding, and the rubes in flyover country. Oh, wait. Actual Democrats already do that on a regular basis.

Is this what we’ve come to? Is everything we are allowed to see a hoax?

The answer to both questions seems to be an unequivocal “yes.”

If this is indeed the case, how can we proceed as a functional society?

“Jan. 6” wasn’t an “insurrection.” Far from it. Nor has Trump been charged with inciting one. It was the nearly inevitable result of a citizenry that had been mocked, demeaned and suppressed-- and who had reason to believe their votes had been rendered moot…or worse.

If those in power continue to use the full breadth and depth of the government they control to harass, stymie, and imprison their political opponents, we will not be a functioning society much longer. The republic will be lost. The Shining City on a Hill will have slid down into the vast, fetid Swamp…to be devoured ‘fundamentally transformed.’ Forever.

 

President Biden's Top Priority For A Second Term? Abortion

 

What would President Biden’s top priority be should he be awarded a second term in office? Well, according to his campaign manager, the president is “adamant” to “restore Roe.” Yup. Quentin Fulks, Biden’s principal deputy campaign manager, recently told Kristen Welker, host of NBC’s Meet the Press, that abortion would be the commander-in-chief’s “top priority” if he is returned to the White House. 

Frankly, that surprises me. I would’ve thought his top priority would be to continue trying to lock up his political opponents. Or to stay up past 8 PM.

Even if you are pro-choice, making abortion the “top priority” is macabre at best. How about stopping the flood of illegals coming across our southern border…and the fentanyl and human trafficking that a porous border allows? After all, fentanyl alone kills 100,000+ Americans each year. How about trying to prevent or curtail foreign wars? Or attempting to reduce inflation and taxes to make life more affordable and pleasant for millions? How about addressing the unsustainable and soon-to-be devastating $34 trillion debt? Or the fact that China is bidding to take over the world?

Nope. Gotta make sure everyone has unfettered access and ability to kill their babies!

What a platform Democrats will have for 2024!:

*Make unrestricted abortion the law of the land (Make Abortion Great Again!)

*Pack the court

*Eliminate the Electoral College

*Eliminate the filibuster

*Statehood for the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico

*Work towards the elimination of fossil fuels…and gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment

*Provide more money for teachers’ unions

*Provide more money for mainstream media outlets

*Progress towards making “15-minute cities” a reality across the United States

*Significantly raise taxes on ammunition so as to make it unaffordable for all but wealthy Democrat donors…thereby rendering guns—and the First Amendment—moot.

*Make mail-in voting a permanent fixture in every state for every election

*Lower the voting age to 16

All of this in the name of “saving our democracy,” of course.

 

 

 

 

 

Democrats "Weaponizing" "Weaponizing" Against Republicans

 

After an improbable-- okay, nearly interminable-- amount of time, (former) Harvard President Claudine Gay resigned her post recently after an almost overwhelming amount of scholarly misconduct came to light. In recent days, Gay has been credibly accused of turning a blind eye to anti-Semitism… and of multiple accounts of plagiarism.

This prompted the always unbiased AP to run an article entitled, "Harvard president's resignation highlights new conservative weapon against colleges: plagiarism.” The same headline graced a corresponding post in ‘X.’

So, Democrats, at least the ones working for the Associated Press, are claiming that Republicans somehow “weaponized” plagiarism charges against Harvard’s Claudine Gay, who was recently removed as president of the formerly elite institution? (Though she is reportedly still a professor at the Ivy League’s most infamous famous Indoctrination Center, and an extremely well paid one at that.)

Later in the day, after being subject to some well-earned mockery, the AP changed the title to "Plagiarism charges downed Harvard's president. A conservative attack helped to fan the outrage." A conservative “attack?”

Democrats now claim Republicans are “weaponizing” virtually everything against them. Quite the opposite is the case. Democrats have succeeded in “weaponizing” the (open) border, illegal immigrants-- and indeed the entire federal government-- against Republicans, conservatives, MAGA types, and the bulk of American citizens.

Why is there no talk of Democrats “weaponizing” the Watergate break-in against Nixon and Republicans?

And how can it be that no one is responsible for their bad-- or even criminal-- behavior, and that pointing out serial egregious actions is “weaponizing” those behaviors and actions against those who committed them? Democrats, and their soulless sycophants in the media, have actually complained that Republicans “weaponized” Hunter Biden’s laptop against him. Pretty sure he did that himself.

Yet, the demonstrable truth is Democrats coerced Big Tech and other media into weaponizing their own coverage—or lack thereof-- against Republicans.

Incredibly, Democrats have weaponized crime, not against criminals but against law abiding citizens. Moreover, they are-- in an almost literal sense—in the process of weaponizing the 2nd amendment against Americans by dismissing their right to bear arms and protect themselves.

And they certainly weaponized Jan. 6-- against any Trump supporter who was in the vicinity of the Capitol that day, and/or was wearing a red hat. Many of whom are still languishing in dank jail cells.

 

The Abolition Of Man

 

C.S. Lewis famously wrote of “The Abolition of Man.” He did so in an attempt to illustrate what happens when we no longer believe in the divine spark that makes us human, in the ability to reason, in the existence of truth—and in the ability to determine right from wrong. And in the idea that humans are fallen by their nature and therefore imperfectible.

All of which is being almost perfectly illustrated/demonstrated today.

On so many levels. More, likely, than even Lewis anticipated.

We are witnessing the deliberate attempted destruction of the Christian religion at the hands of leftists. We are in the throes of an almost total destruction of our “higher education” system, with universities “fundamentally transformed” into stupefyingly illiberal indoctrination centers preaching nihilism and hatred of America and everything for which she once stood. We are in the throes of a sometimes violent revolution against God and nature, one in which young people’s genitalia is being mutilated and discarded as if it were nothing but a cancer to be removed. We are witnessing an unprecedented attack on the very idea and essence of man, as clearly shown by the nearly ubiquitous attack on “toxic masculinity.” Moreover, all too soon, mankind may be subjected to—and subjugated by—“pseudo man,” or artificial intelligence.

There are even those who say that every breath humans take contributes to the scourge of global warming. Obviously, implicit in that notion is the idea that the fewer humans the better…at least for the planet. In this case, the honorable thing to do would be to end one’s own life, a concept quite at odds with Genesis.

So we are potentially on the cusp of the spiritual abolition of man, the intellectual abolition of man, the hormonal/physical abolition of man, the figurative abolition of man, and the technological abolition of man.

And, if the extreme progressives get their way, potentially the actual abolition of man.

Or at least of those who don’t willingly and fully submit to the rest of “progressives’” radical, anti-human agenda.

 

Costco To Soon Require I.D.s To Be Scanned Prior To Entering Stores

 

According to reports, Costco shoppers may soon be required to scan their membership cards before entering any of the retail giant’s warehouse outlets……instead of simply holding their cards up to a marginally attentive employee as they enter the stores. 

It appears a machine will be placed at the stores’ entrances, to be operated by an assumedly more focused Costco employee. A recent post on Reddit purported to show a picture of a shopper scanning his card while a Costco employee looks on. Below the scanner, a sign can be seen, stating: "You will be asked to scan your membership card before entering the warehouse."

One must present—and scan—a picture I.D. to enter? No more “undocumented shoppers,” I guess.

It’s literally going to be harder to enter a Costco than to cross our southern border and enter the United States.

Good for Costco.

Reporters Dead, Arrested, Berated By Authoritarian Regimes Home And Abroad

 

A Russian journalist who recently threatened to reveal allegedly large-scale corruption involving Russian President Vladimir Putin’s forces in occupied Ukraine has been found dead. (Remarkably, reports indicate he did not fall out a window.)

In entirely unrelated news, David Menzies, a reporter for Canada’s conservative Rebel News Network, was recently arrested for asking Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland why Trudeau’s government refuses to label Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IGRC) a terrorist organization. A now viral video of the event, posted by Rebel News head Ezra Levant, shows Menzies strolling down a public sidewalk, keeping pace with the Deputy Prime Minister, when a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) stands in his way and begins to arrest Menzies, claiming that he “assaulted” him, an apparently bogus charge. But, what the hell, Menzies had it coming! I mean, asking a member of the royal government a question which Freeland obviously preferred not to answer…or even hear posed! (“Freeland?” No that’s ironic.)

Meanwhile, also entirely unrelated to be sure, members of U.S. President Joe Biden's campaign team have been trying to coordinate media coverage and amplify their preferred narratives while simultaneously berating reporters for "what they're getting wrong." In fact, Biden himself recently admonished reporters…and instructed them to start reporting things “the right way.” (If they know what’s good for them, apparently.)

According to Semafor, these "off-the-record trips for top political reporters and editors" to Biden’s campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, are being conducted so as to review media coverage and ‘correct’ what the campaign believes they're getting wrong.

Look at the bright side: unlike in Russia, journalists are only being cancelled, threatened or arrested by authoritarian governments in Canada and the United States! Surely radical leftist governments led by the likes of Trudeau and Biden won’t go any further in their attempts to intimidate an already mostly compliant press in North America. Right? And surely a once supposedly free and unbiased press wouldn’t put up with any more attempts by these regimes to shape what—and how-- they report. Correct?

Just kidding! We all know the answer to those questions, though some may not wish to admit it.

Democracy doesn’t “Die in Darkness.” It is simply effectively snuffed out by those beholden to those in power-- or too craven to resist them…even in the light of day.
