Jack Smith's October Surprise? Ha!

Jack Smith apparently does not believe in free speech, at least not for those with whom he disagrees. His new filing against Trump quite specifically argues that Trump’s speech-- tweets included—are not protected by the First Amendment, especially if and as they pertain to election integrity and fraud. On the contrary, the First Amendment clearly does protect Americans’ free speech, perhaps particularly when criticizing the government and questioning election integrity.

But Smith has long been searching for a reason—any reason-- to prosecute and convict the former president. When he can’t find one, he makes one (or more) up.

In the interest of equal justice under the law, Smith should be thrown in jail; for election interference, slander, and for abusing his position of power in a manner that has caused masses of people to lose faith in their government and its institutions. It is he who has repeatedly and knowingly lied about Trump’s words, intentions…and nearly everything else.

This “October Surprise” is a pathetic nothingburger designed only to make him feel important and to confuse or inflame low information voters. If Smith had any integrity at all (LOL!), he would step down. At minimum.
