Historically, Mount Holyoke College has been for women only.
I have no problem with that. Today, however, the definition of a ‘woman’ is
perhaps a tad broader than it was in the past. According to the school’s
updated guidelines, a student can now apply for admission if (he or) she is
“biologically born male; identifies
as woman.” Actually, it’s even broader than that. If an applicant was born a
male but identifies as ‘other’ or ‘others’, they are in if one of the other identities
is ‘woman.’
This
gender-sensitivity has led to some unexpected consequences. The ever-popular
campus play, “The Vagina Monologues” will no longer be performed at Mount
Holyoke. It has been banned. Why, you ask?
Because
it is demeaning to...... “women who have penises.”
Beam me
up, Scotty.
