Today’s dollop of wisdom: virtue
signaling is the easiest way for bad-- or amoral-- people to try to appear
good. While it is hard to change bad behavior, habits, and/or a bad attitude,
etc., it is perfectly easy to rip others-- or simply proudly proclaim “I hate
racism!” or some other such banality. Even if the professed virtue signaler
actually believes the opposite. So, you have the specter of the vilest,
committed racists averring, “I hate racism—and racists—to the bottom of my soul.”
No matter that they simultaneously say that all white people are racist because
of their skin color-- or would never trust a Black person to watch their house
or babysit their children.
These people have a name. We call them
Karens. Or asshats. And they have a party affiliation. We call them Democrats. And
they are every bit as repulsive, intolerant, and exclusionary as they were in
the days of the Civil War and Jim Crow laws.
