Reagan Movie Was Banned From Social Media Platforms

The producers of the film “Reagan” said that Facebook decided the film was too political and therefore shouldn’t be advertised online. This, of course, seriously affected the biopic’s viewership.

Why am I bringing this up now, when the film was released this past August? Because, as I sit here savoring Trump’s victory, I can’t help but contemplate the vitriol Reagan had to face four decades ago. (And he was shot, too.)

Allegedly, the film’s promos have been blocked twice. At one point, a Facebook spokesperson told Newsweek magazine the rejections were “incorrectly” applied and that “there are no restrictions” blocking administrators of the movie’s Facebook page from posting promotional materials. Turns out, that was bullshit.

The movie’s digital marketing director said Zuckerberg didn’t respond to their requests seeking answers to the apparent ban.

In fact, he claims Facebook has blocked “Reagan” movie posts and promotions “several times over the past couple of years” averring that they would violate community guidelines “because they deal with social issues.” Social issues on social media? Perish the thought!

Facebook even told them they were “concerned our content could sway public opinion or the outcome of an election.” Yeah, that checks out. Facebook doesn’t want its content to affect anyone’s opinions!

They’re “concerned” that content “could sway public opinion or the outcome of an election?” That’s rich coming from the same platform that refused to publish anything at all about Hunter Biden’s laptop-- at the behest of the Biden administration-- prior to the last presidential election, lest it could damage Democrats’ chances. And the fact that Zuckerberg had given $400 million to be used to promote Democrats and their causes.

So, are Facebook and Instagram refusing to allow any mention of biographies or documentaries featuring FDR, Truman, or JFK? And certainly they haven’t been allowing anything that could possibly be construed as pro Harris material to stain their brand, correct?

Donald Trump is the recipient of 90+% negative coverage on mainstream media outlets while Kamala Harris enjoys roughly 80% positive coverage. Yet, these outlets claim to be unbiased.

Soon we may see a time when no positive book, film, or commentary of Republicans is allowed, while Democrats may insist on being referred to as “Dear Leader” and “The People’s Party.”

Ronald Reagan once presciently observed: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. The only way they can inherit the freedom we have known is if we fight for it, protect it, defend it, and then hand it to them with the well-fought lessons of how they in their lifetime must do the same. And if you and I don’t do this, then you and I may well spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it once was like in America when men were free.”

He was right.

Do yourself a favor. See “Reagan” the movie.
