Oh No, Canada!

 

Woe is Canada. With the election of liberal globalist Mark Carney, Canadians have effectively finished themselves off. Apparently, the past decade of economic disaster and despair—courtesy of the self-same Liberal Party-- was not enough for our friends in The Great White North.

Winnipeg Sun Columnist Kevin Klein recently noted that there is substantial evidence the Carney Liberal Party is strongly considering implementing a home equity tax on Canadians’ primary residences (on top of all the other taxes Canucks pay) as a colossal cash cow to bring down the massive national debt that their own profligate spending created.

As if that’s not bad enough, Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre recently urged Canadians to read what he termed a “jaw-dropping” federal report that warns Canada could soon be headed for large-scale economic and social collapse. The Liberal government’s own Privy Council report, titled Future Lives: Social Mobility In Question, admits that one “plausible” scenario is that home ownership may become utterly unaffordable for the vast majority of Canadians as soon as 2040, and that “more people may struggle to afford rent, bills or groceries” which could subsequently cause workers to leave the country. Where would they go? Perhaps America? Sounds bad, eh? Not to worry, the report states that “People may start to hunt, fish and forage on public lands.” If a significant percentage of a nation’s population has to “forage” on public lands to survive, that nation is not a viable member of the world community. No matter how much it may wish to be one.

And newly minted Prime Minister Mark Carney is nothing if not a globalist. He champions “values” such as open borders, LGBTQ “rights,” gender surgery and hormones for children, and the Net Zero deindustrialization of his own country, all of which he touts as “Canadian values.” Canada simply doesn’t have the cajones to defend itself against China, which has placed enormous tariffs on a number of Canadian products, but has pathetically embarked on an “elbows up” campaign against its friendly neighbor and long-time benefactor, the United States. 

Canada is messed up. And it just messed up again, by electing Carney. Canadians have historically been known as “nice,” “polite,” and, well, docile. That they chose to re-elect the same party that has eroded their freedoms, devastated their economy, sold them down the river, taken its marching orders from China, and treated immigrants better than themselves is tragic but ultimately unsurprising. That they have ignored all this but decided to now take umbrage at the best friend and protector they have ever—and will ever—have is revolting. If Canadians are suddenly so repulsed by all things American, why was their election almost entirely about President Trump?

Canada has no (viable) party that values the lives of the unborn or of the aged and infirm. Unfettered abortion and expanded euthanasia are the order of the day and somehow considered enlightened. It is no coincidence that this has coincided with the “Liberal” Party’s reign.

There is no turning back now. Canadians have euthanized themselves and their country, though they may be too ignorant to realize this. Until later.

 

America In Peril, Along With Trump's Agenda

 

As President Richard Milhous Nixon used to say, “Let me make one thing perfectly clear.”

So, here it goes. Republicans need to wake the hell up and smell the proverbial coffee. Why? Well, I am not Nostradamus, but I am going to tell you what is going to happen if the status quo doesn’t change in a hurry. Follow me to the end, please.

Most Americans do not like chaos, uncertainty, and long stretches of intensity. Most Americans want to stay in their comfort zone, emphasis on comfort. They are content enough with their daily routine, whether that be gainful employment, playing video games for hours on end, watching sports, binge-watching Netflix shows, or visiting their favorite porn sites. Sure, they can weather the occasional short-term challenge or stock market fluctuation if they think it might be for the greater good, but if these challenges or fluctuations last more than a few weeks or months, they become stressed and uneasy…and, ironically enough, eventually seek relief through change.

President Trump has, necessarily and heroically, taken on several difficult challenges at the same time, attempting to reduce waste and inefficiency in government, make global trade much fairer, return control of education to the states, gain control of our borders, and deport many of the illegal alien criminals that his predecessor imported with wild abandon. These ventures, of course, have caused some turbulence, economically, politically, and societally.

The tragedy, and it is a tragedy, is that entrenched members of the unelected Deep State and a handful of Marxist judges, also unelected, have joined with Democrats and their media sycophants in trying to stop Trump and his administration in their tracks. And obstruct the will of the American people.

And they appear to be largely successful in their nefarious efforts, at least temporarily and at this juncture.

If Trump’s agenda was unimpeded, it would ultimately be successful, and the vast majority of folks would clearly see, likely within a year to eighteen months, the massive—and long term—benefits. They would then know that the short term uncertainty was worth it.

The problem is, as can already be seen to some degree, that if Trump’s agenda isn’t allowed to be implemented and therefore successful, many Americans will decide any disruption, stress, and uncertainty aren’t worth it. In a sense, they would be right, if significant benefits don’t follow the ‘chaos.’ At some point then, the Trump agenda would grind to a halt through no fault of his own, and America would not be made great again.

Worse yet, Democrats would likely pick up many seats in Congress in 2026, as the party out of power typically does anyway. Moreover, neither J.D. Vance nor any other Republican would be a heavy favorite in the presidential election of 2028. And there would almost certainly never again be a chance to rescue the formerly United States from its systemic big-government waste, inefficiency, and corruption. Nor from the also systemically unfair tariffs and other global issues it faces.

The biggest culprits in all this are the federal district judges (with the rot even spreading to SCOTUS recently). Unless this preposterous judicial tyranny is defeated, the Trump administration will be largely spinning its wheels. And the ‘Republican Congress,’ ‘led’ by Speaker Mike Johnson and comprised of too many RINOs, hasn’t lifted a finger to help it. On second thought, perhaps they are the worst culprits.

What will be the outcome? To paraphrase Longfellow: Americans with all their fears, with all the hopes of future years, are hanging breathless on their fate.

 

 

Europe, Canada Crossing A Communist Rubicon From Which They Cannot Return Or Recover

 

Euronews has reported that the first call European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen made following President Trump’s recent speech demanding reciprocal tariffs was to…China.

According to The Daily Express, “China responded warmly, stating, ‘China is ready to work with the European side to promote the sound and steady development of China-EU relations.’" The EU Commission stated that “a significant concession had been agreed upon” regarding “the block on imports of Chinese-made electric vehicles, potentially through the introduction of a minimum pricing initiative.” Ah, so the “significant concession” was made by the EU, in potentially allowing the importation of more electric vehicles from China. What a shock. This would also stick it to Elon Musk, as well.

An unnamed “insider” apparently told Euronews: "In response to the widespread disruption caused by the US tariffs, President von der Leyen stressed the responsibility of Europe and China, as two of the world's largest markets, to support a strong reformed trading system, free, fair and founded on a level playing field. The insider allegedly added that China “is evolving because China is looking at us differently.” Yes, China is looking at Canada like Michael Moore looks at a crème-filled donut.

Note to world elites: the U.S. tariffs didn’t cause the widespread disruption. You did. The disruption was the responsibility of Europe and China, among others, who have for far too long benefitted from the unequal tariffs and trade restrictions they have placed on the US. Period. Moreover, according to Global News sources, China has been targeting Canada with a vast campaign of interference, which includes funding a clandestine network of at least 11 federal candidates running in the 2019 election. Oh, Canada!

          But Canada is not alone in having been seduced and duped by China. China’s notorious “Belt & Road” initiative seeks to effectively annex key harbors, chokepoints, natural resources, and bases of operations from nations around the world, even as those nations may somehow believe they are getting a fair return.

China has long stolen technology from the United States. For many decades it has been robbing, filching, pinching, purloining, misappropriating, burgling, and embezzling from American research institutions, corporations, companies, and universities. And it has been targeting American politicians, too. (See also, Eric Swalwell.) In fact, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation recently discovered that Boston Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu’s 2021 campaign received hundreds of thousands of dollars from a fundraiser who is actually an official of a Chinese intelligence agency.

The result of such technology theft is obvious and dire. As Victor Davis Hanson has noted, “almost every Chinese jet fighter, armored vehicle, missile, or rocket; almost every EV automobile; and almost every solar panel have their origins in either U.S. and European research and development or from Western-trained Chinese engineers.”

So, Europe and Canada are poised to choose China over the U.S., huh? (Wonder why they didn’t similarly choose the Soviet Union over the United States during the Cold War?) Really? After China, through incompetence or malevolence, unleashed pandemic horror across the globe? After knowing that China sicced COVID on the world, halting flights inside China while letting flights jet around the rest of the planet for days on end? And never once apologized? Apparently, being Communist means never having to say your sorry.

Europe may choose China over the U.S.? That’s certainly a nice thank you to Uncle Sam for rescuing Europe from the clutches of tyranny! Twice!! And incurring tens of thousands of deaths. Europe abuts Russia with whom it apparently would like to be at war. Go it alone, chaps.

Canada may choose China over the United States? Canada is still Canada—and free-- purely due to its default location abutting the benevolent United States, rendering it immune to attack by our mutual foes. Or previously mutual foes.

Canada and Europe, and others around the globe, are going to align themselves with China against the United States? This is mindful of Mark Steyn’s wonderful book, America Alone.

And this speaks volumes, none of it good. There has been--and is-- a vast Marxist conspiracy. A pandemic of idiocy. A systemic degeneracy. Let's see how other Western nations react after the United States prevails-- and they are halfway down the drain.

What’s that? Sorry, can’t hear you.

           Europe and Canada are in an utterly unprecedented and dangerous state, gradually succumbing to hyper-secularism, surging Islam, and Chinese malfeasance simultaneously. When will the majority of the people in these nations realize this is an existential crisis for them, their country—and the West in general? Perhaps the better question is will they realize this soon enough to do anything substantive about it?

Tragically, I doubt it.

 

Can We Regain Societal Cohesion And Dignity Before It's Too Late?

 

I am saddened at seeing life devalued. Mores changing. Reverence nearly extinct. Gratitude, too. In their place stands violence, hatred, bitterness, envy, and entitlement. Let me start from the beginning. And let me warn you, I’m not going to waste time on segues, so please bear with me.

There is a resort game-room near us in which I whiled away many a childhood hour. It harbored a beautiful old pool table and two excellent ping-pong tables, all of which were free to use. There was a juke box, pinball tables, and a foosball table, too. Through the ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, and into the ‘90s, the room, unmonitored, was generally kept in good condition, pool cues put away, litter in the trash bins. And then…something changed. Did it ever. In later years the solid old pool table had felt tears in it. Some of the balls went missing. Ping-pong balls went into the foosball table and were crushed or lost. Pool cues, trash, and mountains of popcorn littered the floors. The juke box was vandalized. So, the free tables went away. You now have to rent the ping-pong balls from the front desk upstairs. Paddles, too. Cameras were installed. It costs $2.00 in quarters to play a game of pool. Almost all the other ‘cool’ games have been replaced by ‘crane’ games with cheap plastic trinkets or candy as the prizes, where they used to contain plush toys. Why was the culture able to maintain itself—and other things—with some respect and decorum for nearly 40 years…and then, in a flash, fall apart?

Look at pictures from sporting events in the Golden Era of the 1920s, 30s, or 40s. Hell, look at them from the ‘50s or even ‘60s. Almost every male was wearing a suit and cap, almost every female a dress. Today? Ripped jeans, dirty tees, and pajamas are as common as multiple piercings. Pants hanging down, butt-cracks showing. Nice restaurants used to have dress codes. No longer. I now see people wearing things to church, weddings, and funerals that most folks wouldn’t have worn doing yard work in days of yore. Why? And does it matter? I say yes, it is a sign of respect— or lack thereof—for others, as well as oneself.

This is akin to the idea behind ‘broken window policing.’ If you discourage the smaller acts of indecency, you will see far fewer felonious ones. You get what you tolerate.

Speaking of felonious acts, we now see that Luigi Mangione, the man who murdered a United Healthcare CEO in cold blood, is a hero to some on the left. A new California healthcare law could be named after Mangione. More than $150,000 has been raised online for the suspected murderer of a fellow high school student. (I am unaware how much, if anything, has been raised for the family of the victim.) As if this isn’t disturbing enough, a new study shows that roughly half of leftists think that assassinating President Trump or Elon Musk would be morally justifiable. How did we get here?

But wait, there’s more! A grown man just married an eight-year-old girl. According to Frontpage Mag, “When asked by the BBC how he justified marrying an eight-year-old, Sheikh Mahmoud said that the traditions of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad, along with that of the Shafi’i school of thought, allowed child marriage.” (Islamic tradition records that Muhammad wrote the marriage contract with a girl named Aisha when she was six-years-old and consummated the ‘marriage’ when she was nine.)

Also as reported by Frontpage Mag, Waisuddin Akbari, a Toronto man who immigrated from Afghanistan, was “convicted for threatening to plant bombs in every local synagogue and kill as many Jews as he could.” (Many of Canada’s Christian churches have already been vandalized or burned down.)

But, much as the aforementioned alleged murderers have received money and adulation, Pennsylvania’s Jewish Governor, Josh Shapiro, is bestowing a $5 million grant to a mosque in which an Imam recently gave a sermon stating that Arabs were superior to all other races, and that Jews were the “enemies of Allah” and the “vilest of all people.”

So, today you can be arrested for silently praying outside of an abortion clinic, at least in England, lose your job for ‘misgendering’ someone, and be subject to ‘hate speech’ laws and consequences for criticizing Islam in any way. But you can murder someone or marry an 8-year-old and a significant percentage of the population will be okay with that? You can call one group “the vilest of all people” and be rewarded with a massive grant?

            Jan. 6ers—and the Freedom Road Truckers—may well end up being treated worse than a Muslim man who wants to blow up every synagogue in Canada’s largest city.

            We have been slouching towards Gomorrah for decades now. The twin evils of hyper-secularism and militant Islam are closing in on us. The only way we can save our societies—and by extension ourselves—is to quit apologizing and cowering. We need to straighten up and regain the (immensely justifiable) pride in who we were and what we accomplished…before we are unable to do so. The truth is, Europeans (and even Canadians) have a great deal of which to be proud. Americans even more so.

            It is time to make our respective nations great again. Before it’s too late.

            (While we’re at it, let’s clean up our game-rooms and quit wearing underwear to important events.)

 

 

 

 

 

The Last, Best Hope

 

We in the U.S. are living in the last, best hope-- and have recently been divinely provided with the last, best chance. If we can't make good on this chance, there is unlikely to be another… and hope will slip away with it. This is entirely possible, if not overwhelmingly likely. It is up to us to make certain that hope—and this republic-- does not die. We must act with courage, decisiveness, and passion.

The rest of The West is in a similar situation but is even further down the rabbit hole. Western nations can continue on the same course of globalism, wokeism, leftism, societal self-hatred, and hyper tolerance of a rapidly growing Muslim community that wants to subsume them-- or they can remember who they were and what they once stood for, recover their self-confidence and dignity, and try to preserve themselves.

That’s it. There is no “third way.” In a nutshell: sink or swim. Sadly and bizarrely, it appears they will choose the former.

In 1940, English Prime Minister Winston Churchill, alone and facing the full might of the Nazi War Machine, proclaimed, “We shall never surrender!”

Tragically, it appears that the nation he once proudly led has already done so. Ditto for much of the rest of Europe-- or should I say the European Union-- an entity created in part to harness individual nations’ political and economic might, enhance the security of its member states, and rival the United States.

It is embarrassing to say the least that the EU—today-- cannot even protect its citizens from rampant stabbings…or its young girls from rape gangs.

If you look at vast swaths of many European cities, it is hard not to think that Europe itself has been raped and deflowered.

Tolerance. Pass it on.

Britain Bans French Philosopher From Entering Country

 

The British government, led by the radically globalist Labor Party and far-left Prime Minister Keir Starmer, has banned 78-year-old French philosopher and author Renaud Camus from entering the country, alleging that his ‘controversial’ views on mass immigration are a threat to “the public good.”

In truth, Camus’ views are the only thing that could save Britain, which is being literally overtaken by a massive wave of Muslim immigration. The government fears and despises Camus, as he was the originator of the term “The Great Replacement” to describe the belief that mass migration is leading to the demographic replacement of native British citizens, as well as Europeans in general-- and Americans and Canadians with European ancestry.

Camus had been slated to speak at a ‘nationalist’ event later this month, but that appearance has been cancelled after the UK Home Office denied his travel authorization, telling Camus his presence was “not considered to be conducive to the public good.” You know whose presence is actually not “conducive to the public good?” Keir Starmer’s for starters. And Sadiq Khan’s. And Theresa May’s. And Boris Johnson’s. And Liz Truss’. And…well, you get the idea.

Camus is the latest in a long line of folks the UK has banned-- or considered banning-- from entering its environs. That list includes Donald Trump, Michael Savage, L. Ron Hubbard, Martha Stewart, Lenny Bruce, Mike Tyson, Dog the Bounty Hunter, and, if memory serves, Rush Limbaugh. If the UK continues on its present track, anyone to the right of V.I. Lenin will soon be denied entry. Unless, of course, they are Muslim, in which case they will be welcomed with open arms—and possibly open legs, judging by the sheer number of hyper-woke women residing in the United Kingdom.

As a public service, I have compiled a short list of people who, if they were alive today, would likely be banned from entering the UK due to their perceived right-wing extremism, insufficient wokeness, or adherence to Christian principles. You may have even heard of some of them. The list:

It Couldn't Be Clearer: Democrats Are Pro-Crime And Anti-American

 

Democrats are vowing to pile into an El Salvadoran hotel to lobby for the return of MS-13’s wife-beating human-trafficker, Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Democratic Senator Christopher Van Hollen, Jr., a trailblazer, is already in El Salvador and has already met with the recently deported illegal alien. The two traded loving glances while conversing over cocktails. Van Hollen appeared especially smitten, at one point placing his hand on Garcia’s while staring longingly into his eyes.

It should be noted that Democrats could not be bothered to fly to Russia or Gaza and other such places on behalf of Americans held hostage. Nor could they be troubled even to travel to western North Carolina to in anyway assist, aid, or assuage the feelings of their fellow American citizens who had recently been devastated by a massive hurricane. Just as they couldn’t find the time to visit East Palestine, Ohio after a train derailment spewed toxic chemicals across land and water, devastating the area for years to come. (This is particularly odd, since we all know Democrats love Palestine.)

As is the case with so many things with which Democrats get involved, this has become a repulsive, never-ending, clown show—a sort of kabuki theater for the mentally challenged and morally impaired.

On a related note, Democrats are wigging out over Health and Human Services Secretary RFK, Jr.’s comments that we will soon know what causes autism, which he thinks is likely largely due to environmental factors like vaccines and contaminants in food and beverages rather than genetics. Democrats would be devastated if studies did happen to conclusively show that autism is more common in the highly vaccinated, and so are blasting RFK, Jr.’s comments and assertions. They would clearly prefer that autism continues apace rather than potentially find out that there are simple steps that could be taken to prevent it.

So, Democrats are now effectively pro-autism as well as pro-crime, abortion, death, torture, rape, destruction, human trafficking, and wife beating. And, in some cases, pro-assassination of their own nation’s president. This while simultaneously being anti-American and anti-Christian.

Nice platform, guys! You must be very proud, indeed.

James Raskin (D-MD) Threatens Trump Supporters

 

Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin, appearing on the Pod Save America podcast, stated: ”We need to be engaging in far more work of transnational democratic solidarity with the democratic governments and the democratic movements and peoples and parties of the world, to try to prevent the spread of the lawlessness and the fascist chaos that’s been unleashed against us. But implicit in it should be the idea that if and when we come back to power, and we will, we are not going to look kindly upon people who facilitated, to use a word of the day, who facilitated authoritarianism in our country.”

“Engaging in far more work of transnational democratic solidarity” means colluding with globalists and radical leftists, be they individuals, organizations, nations, or any other entity. Raskin is the son of the late communist academic Marcus Raskin, so it is no surprise that he labels his political opponents “fascists.” It is ironic and hypocritical, however, in that no political ideology is ultimately more “authoritarian” and lawless than Communism. And make no mistake, chaos, to the extent it exists in America today, has been unleashed by leftists like Raskin, who do everything in their power to divide Americans and foster fear and crime.

Raskin then chillingly states that Democrats will be back in power-- and threatens every person, organization, entity, and nation that in any way aided or befriended Donald Trump and his administration. “Nice family/house/group/country you got there…shame if something happened to it.” To thugs like Raskin, “democratic” means “whatever favors me and those like me.” As it does to his targeted transnational collaborators.

America does not need to be saved from Donald Trump or his supporters. It does need to be saved from the likes of Jamie Raskin. Can “Pod Save America?” Of course not. But God can save America. He has done it before. Let’s hope He is willing to do so again.

MAGA Agenda In Existential Peril- Democrats Winning Even After Losing

 

I feel like I have to say something here that I do not relish saying, and something that may cause me to lose the goodwill of many. The Trump administration, not even 100 days in, is very close to being stillborn/defeated/cancelled/extinguished. I say this for two reasons. First, the 677 or so federal district court judges are hell-bent on stopping Trump’s agenda in its tracks and reversing it if and as they can. Many of these judges were installed by Barack Obama and are actual Marxists. There is no way that Trump will get all 677 to find/rule unanimously in his favor on any issue, domestic or foreign. But if that doesn’t happen, it is game over for the popularly elected president. True, the Supreme Court of the United States recently ruled that Judge Boasberg does not have jurisdiction as regards Trump deporting dangerous illegal aliens and terrorists, but this just prompted Boasberg to order the DOJ to report the dates and times of future operations to deport dangerous aliens. Which brings me to reason number two: the overwhelming majority of Republicans are invertebrates. Where is the congressional GOP caucus now? On the beach somewhere? At home rearranging their sock drawers? Sitting around the table, telling their relatives how they won the last election?

If the ‘Republican’ congress doesn’t act—now—to rein in judges like Boasberg, as they are tasked with doing, Trump is neutered, the will of the people dismissed, and the MAGA movement rendered impotent. Elections will cease to have any meaning. One party rule will prevail. And the United States will die. Permanently. As in forever. Can Trump, Musk, DOGE, and the likes of Stephen Miller and Marco Rubio, as talented and courageous as they are, defeat the massive and entrenched Deep State and overcome the judicial tyranny? I am not holding my breath.

Many people have been asking why Democrats have been acting so dumb lately, choosing the wrong side of nearly every issue. Why are they going against the will of the vast majority of the American people, especially on issues like deporting criminal aliens? It seems perplexing, preposterous, even insane-- particularly in light of the 2024 election results.

All these Democrats aren’t dumb. Most aren’t stupid. They aren’t ignoramuses that simply cannot grasp the will of the majority. The truth is far worse than that. They know they have everything sewn up, all the boxes checked, their ‘I’s dotted and their ‘t’s crossed. They own the institutions. They own the judges. And they are aware of Republicans’ long history of not fighting back. Republicans have been nothing if not timid, obsequious, toady. One might think at some point they’d get tired of that reputation and start fighting back. But apparently not.

There are many things folks don’t fully understand. One of them is this: Trump and the MAGA movement are repudiations of the old, country club Republicans. Sure, Democrats are polling poorly now, but establishment Republicans still won’t take advantage of that fact. And, if political history teaches us anything, it is that fortunes can change in a hurry. Without Trump (and his acolytes), there is no viable Republican Party.

Honestly, I don’t know how President Trump keeps it together. The opposing political party incessantly tries to obstruct his policies, put him in jail on bogus charges, or perhaps even outright kill him. And the bulk of his own party will not step up to help him when it counts.

Many of today’s Democrats are Marxists. Many are just evil. Yet it is the majority of today’s Republicans that will ultimately be responsible if the Trump administration is unsuccessful-- and government of, by, and for the people vanishes from the Earth.

There should be a special place in hell set aside just for them.

I hope and pray my skepticism turns out to be unfounded. But a little over four years ago, I wrote a piece I called “The Setting Sun,” which addressed, rather presciently as it turns out, many of the issues we are witnessing today. Unfortunately, it has aged all too well.

 

 

 

 

Lexington And Concord

 

It was the 19^th of April, 1775. Day had just dawned. Tensions were mounting. History hung in the air.

A Redcoat yelled out, “Throw down your arms, ye villains, ye rebels!” and events transpired from there. Shots rang out, and when the smoke cleared, eight militiamen lay dead. Only one Redcoat was harmed. The colonists determined that this wrong would be righted.

The “shot heard ‘round the world” would eventually give rise to freedom-- and the unfurling of the “Star-Spangled Banner.”  

So, Paul Revere rode, exclaiming “One if by land, two if by sea,” risking his life to alert his compatriots. Emphasis on patriots.

Lexington and Concord, and Bunker Hill, too, engendered freedom, stiffened the spine of the oppressed, and gave hope to the world.       

The founding of America brought forth the light. The rights of the people were natural, inherent, endowed by their Creator. They would govern themselves.

Fast forward more than 200 years. Everything has changed. There’s less hope, more fear. Our own elites crave ever more power, power they hope proves eternal. The people be damned.

It was the 19^th of April, 1775. History was made. Tyranny was stymied.

Until now.

(In a sense, this piece was posted two days late. I wanted to see what mention this pivotal moment in history received from the American mainstream media. Sadly, but unsurprisingly, there was little or no coverage or note of this anniversary whatsoever. You cannot hate the media enough.)

Hawaii Supreme Court Finds It Trumps The U.S. Supreme Court

 

In a remarkable—not to say preposterous and invalid—decision, the Hawaii Supreme Court recently tossed out decades of Supreme Court precedent in its ruling that found no state constitutional right to carry a firearm.

The Aloha State’s highest court ignored three landmark Second Amendment Supreme Court decisions, declaring that the U.S. Supreme Court “handpicks history to make its own rules.” Which is, of course, precisely what the Hawaii Supreme Court did in its finding. The Rainbow State court’s decision reversed a lower court ruling that dismissed charges against Christopher Wilson for carrying a gun unregistered in the state, which Wilson correctly argued infringed on his Second Amendment rights.

Incredibly, the court’s ruling stated, “Conventional interpretive modalities and Hawaii’s historical tradition of firearm regulation rule out an individual right to keep and bear arms.” The court further stated that it rejects the “founding era’s” understanding of the Constitution, going so far as to quote a line from the cable TV series The Wire: “The thing about the old days, they the old days.”

“Conventional interpretive modalities?” Say what?! In averring that the court rejects the “Founding Era’s” understanding of the Constitution, which was written in the Founding Era, the 50^th State’s Supreme Court has cavalierly tossed out the law of all the land, using a line from a fictional television show for its support. Amazing.

But wait, there’s more. The ruling also stated, “As the world turns, it makes no sense for contemporary society to pledge allegiance to the founding era’s culture, realities, laws, and understanding of the Constitution.” The ruling continued: “The ‘spirit of Aloha’ clashes with a federally-mandated lifestyle that lets citizens walk around with deadly weapons during day-to-day activities. The history of the Hawaiian Islands does not include a society where armed people move about the community to possibly combat the deadly aims of others.” And finally, “A free-wheeling right to carry guns in public degrades other constitutional rights.”

If individual states are to disavow understanding of the Constitution and its laws, absolute chaos will ensue, to the extent it would render The Union ungovernable—if not moot. The ruling is, in essence, a declaration of an intent to go rogue, to secede from any federal control whatsoever, at least when the mood strikes the court. The court came right out and said it doesn’t believe Hawaiians should have the right to effectively “combat the deadly aims of others,” though never addressing how Second Amendment rights could possibly “degrade other constitutional rights.”

The kicker, of course, is the ‘finding’ that the Constitution and its Bill of Rights clashes with the “Spirit of Aloha.” I’m almost speechless, an occurrence many thought impossible.

What if the Minnesota Supreme Court were to say ‘Minnesota nice’ supersedes U.S. Supreme Court rulings and the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution? Or the Wisconsin Supreme Court states that the ‘spirit of the cheesehead’ takes precedence over the Supreme Court of the United States? Pennsylvania is the Quaker State, perhaps its Supreme Court will decide that the ‘spirit of non-violence’ overrules any silly old Constitutional amendment any day, even if the Constitution was ratified by the states and has been the supreme law of the land for 238 years. Might the California Supreme Court decide that ‘California Cool’ trumps SCOTUS rulings?

 Chaos. Where the hell does this stop? A house divided cannot stand. Will a state soon cite its history and ‘spirit’ in effectively repealing, say, the Thirteenth or Nineteenth Amendments inside its borders?! This is insanity. The nation is being summarily destroyed by rogue, unelected judges…and the Democrats who agree with them will say this judicial fiat is necessary “to save our democracy.” How could anyone say that with a straight face?! Maybe they mean “their democracy” like they believe in “their truth?” In “their democracy,” the will of the majority is ignored so the radical minority can get its way all the time. But objective truth, like true evil, does exist. And their preferred form of government is not democracy. It is tyranny.

And that clashes with the ‘Spirit of America.’

Democrats Infatuated With Criminals And Gang Members-- American Citizens? Not So Much

 

Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., recently flew to El Salvador "to show solidarity" with criminal MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia-- who was deported after being in the U.S. illegally-- and his family. Stephen Miller, White House deputy chief of staff for policy and Homeland Security advisor, said during a Monday press conference that once President Trump made MS-13 a foreign terrorist organization, Garcia "was no longer eligible, under federal law … for any form of immigration relief in the United States … and had to be returned because of the foreign terrorist designation." Fortunately, Nayib Bukele, president of El Salvador, refused to see Hollen. (Attorney General Pam Bondi had previously stated that it was "up to El Salvador" if the country wanted to return him.)

House Democrats have been actively discussing plans to send an entire congressional delegation (CODEL) to El Salvador to investigate the conditions faced by criminal deportees at the now famous CECOT facility. Sen. Cory Booker, D-NJ, and Hollen have been among those involved in the planning, but reports indicate that numerous Democrats have expressed interest in making the trip. Every time we think Democrats can’t get any more insane, they prove us wrong. It is truly remarkable. And every time we think they can’t possibly be any more blatantly disdainful of American citizens, they become clownishly, preposterously more so. The purported 21% to 29% that support them must deeply despise themselves as well as their country.

 

Memo to Hollen and Booker: Trying to force another nation to do what you want it to with one of their own citizens reeks of 'the ugly American.' Seems kind of colonialist and imperialist if you ask me, boys.

Though Democrats and their shills in the mainstream media incessantly claim Garcia is simply a “wrongly deported Maryland man,” and doting father, Garcia never even bothered to get a Green Card while in the country illegally. He is/was very likely a member of the violent MS-13 gang, whose stock in trade is rape, murder, and destruction. Oh, and court documents show his wife had previously asked for a protective order against him for alleged domestic violence.

Democrats and their media have wigged out over Garcia, a resident of El Salvador, being sent back to El Salvador, his home, for entering and residing in the United States illegally…and likely being a member of a historically dangerous and violent gang. What the eff?!

They are effectively saying, “By God, we have got to get criminal illegal alien gang members back into our country from their homeland or we will lose our democracy! I mean really, WTF?!!

What’s next for Democrats, sending a submersible to the ocean to try to find Bin Laden’s body so they can bring it back to the US to be feted? Are they going to demand a statue of The Butcher of Baghdad be erected on Capitol Hill?

What did Hollen think he was going to do, pound on Bukele’s door and scream until he let him in…and let Garcia out? And Garcia is by no means the first and only criminal gang member Democrats have befriended. How the hell can they think it is a bad thing to rid the country of violent criminals? And what if Kilmar Abrego Garcia had protested outside or inside the Capitol on “Jan. 6?” Would Democrats then want to fry him? Probably. Remember, to Democrats Jan 6 was worse than 9/11. And Pearl Harbor. And Antietam. Combined. Even though the only one killed that day was a petite, unarmed, female U.S. Air Force veteran and Trump supporter gunned down in cold blood by a Capitol police officer who was subsequently promoted. And they say chivalry is dead! Well, Ashley Babbitt is…but anyway, I digress.

Hollen and Booker and the rest of the Democrats never fight that hard for American citizens. They don’t care about Americans held against their will overseas. Not even in Russia. And they sure as hell don’t care about Jan. 6ers, even those held in solitary confinement without charge! No, they only truly care about non-citizen criminals, the more hardened the better. That, as they say, is messed up. Bigly.

 

 

 

Unmanifest Destiny--Is America Heading For "The Ash Heap Of History?"

 

What would happen if most people weren’t in a chemically induced state, addicted to their soaps, sports, gambling, video games, and porn? If there was no internet, no smart phones, and only three channels on the television? There would be more face-to-face conversations, and board games played around the dining room table, for sure. More time for reading and contemplation, too. But what I’m really getting at is that folks wouldn’t put up with their hard-earned tax money being used to fund crazy “causes” around the world, wouldn’t put up with it being used to line the pockets of the very “public servants” that are supposed to answer to them, yet who treat them as somewhat unpleasant ATMs.

If, too, taxes were not taken out of people’s pay/paychecks in advance, but the government had to send a representative to knock on our doors and say, “hand over 30% of your income,” people would be less sanguine about the matter.

It turns out the entire effing federal government is, apparently, corrupt, led in its nefariousness by nearly every single Democrat. We are now almost as far away from the Founders’ vision of limited, ethical government of, by, and for the people as it is possible to get. They believed government was instituted among men to protect their natural rights as granted to them by their Creator, not to arbitrarily take peoples’ money and then tell them what rights they do and do not have vis-à-vis government. Forget limited government of, by, and for the people. We now have a government of, by, and for government, one that gets angry when we rubes dare to question why they want to take ever more of our lucre from us and/or what they might be spending it on.

Our “public servants” (who several of the Founders didn’t even think should be paid), are essentially telling us, “Forget what you can do for your country, line my pockets with your wealth! Forget about not coveting your neighbor’s whatever…I want everything he or she has and I want it now, even if it has to be taken from him or her by force! And, if I don’t like the cut of your political jib—or the car you drive—by Godlessness I have every right—indeed a duty—to eff it up or burn it down! Screw your Ten Commandments, I prefer my Ten Commandments, which start with ‘Thou shalt not question me,’ along with my truth. There is no ‘the truth,’ just what I wish to believe…about myself and everyone else.” Some even go so far as to state, “For I am a victim, and you are the oppressor! Sure, this will lead to endless envy, hatred, violence, and chaos, but that’s okay with me.”

Some of their supporters (paid or not) think: “I don’t have time for a stupid job. I will be out protesting the white male patriarchy and anyone who has had a modicum of success…at my expense, of course. If I have to loot a store or burn it down, my ends justify the means. For I am a victim and thus good, and my oppressors must be destroyed, even as my behavior and identity must be validated! This is the America I want! This is the America I deserve! And that is all that matters.”

So, forget “as American as motherhood and apple pie.” The new improved America should be about “inseminated persons and avocado toast.”

Nikita Khruschev once said of the United States, “We will destroy you from within.” How? He stated: “You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism outright, but we’ll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you’ll finally wake up and find you already have communism. We won’t have to fight you. We’ll so weaken your economy until you’ll fall like overripe fruit into our hands.”

Khruschev also famously said of the U.S.: “We will bury you.” That prediction didn’t come true. But he needn’t have worried. Democrats (and RINOs) are in the process of burying us now. Their sycophants are in the streets burning Teslas. Their select, unelected judges are voiding or annulling nearly every important Executive Order President Trump has issued. Democrats in Congress routinely subvert the will of the people while the RINOs argue about voting from home…and then decide to just go home, country be damned. Make America Great Again? No, they’d rather forsake America again.

If the U.S. ends up on “the ash heap of history,” it will take its place among several other great nations of the past, the Roman Empire among them. And every other nation currently in existence will soon join us, as well, China included.

And freedom, liberty…and hope…will lie moldering there next to us… until the sun expires.

 

 

What Does It Mean To Be A Democrat Today?

 

Let’s think about that. Really think about what it means to be a Democrat today: You must support vandalism (of Teslas and cities). You must support governmental waste, fraud, corruption, inefficiency, and abuse of taxpayers. You support theft and crime, whether committed by illegal aliens or homegrown citizens. You support torture (Hamas), abortion (Planned Parenthood), murder (Luigi Mangione!), assassination, assisted suicide/euthanasia, and the genital mutilation of children (‘trans therapy’). And you help incite and/or promote all of the aforementioned. Moreover, you somehow believe that illegals, non-citizens, and criminals should have more rights than your fellow law-abiding citizens. You are vehemently against securing our borders. And you effectively believe that the LGBTQ community has more rights than heterosexuals. And that Muslims have more rights than Christians. You approve of open borders-- and all that that entails. And you believe there is no systemic substantive moral or ethical difference between the United States and Communist China. In fact, you purport to believe that President Trump is a bigger threat to democracy than China’s President (“Chairman?”) Xi Jinping. You are loathe to punish China for any of its myriad acts deliberately detrimental to the United States. You believe that only white men are bright enough to figure out how to obtain a valid I.D. suitable for voting. (Or writing a check, boarding a plane, buying beer, driving a car, etc., etc.) Yet you claim to hate racism, even while saying white people are inherently racist…because of their race! You claim invasive species are an existential threat to our native ecosystem, but that ‘undocumented immigrants’ are a boon to our economy and way of life, because ‘diversity’ is always good. Amazing.

What else does it mean to be a Democrat today? It means you must embrace projection, gaslighting, obfuscation, hypocrisy…and flat-out lying. It means you despise the truth.

This is a staggering litany of stunningly damaging ideas and behaviors. Nonetheless, if you fervently support all of these unconstitutional, criminal-- and evil—beliefs and actions, you will still get roughly 1/3 of the country to support you. Maybe more. And increasingly, violently so. Remarkable. And revolting.

Ultimately, this means that you, not Trump and his supporters, are an existential threat to the republic. Which, when you get right down to it, might be the whole point.

This should be the defining issue of our time, should it not?

I believe in a two—or more—party system. I detest ‘group think.’ But how the hell today’s Democrats get anyone to vote for them is beyond the ken of a sane and honorable mind.

 

 

 

An Ode To 'X.' An Ode To Musk.

 

It is a truism to state that Elon Musk is a genius. But there is another kind of truism: altruism. Musk is selfless, as evidenced by his partnering with the man, President Trump, whose mantra is “drill baby drill” and who has removed the mandate for electric vehicles-- directly and adversely affecting Musk's own core business. In fact, Trump has now reportedly decided to dispense with the 8,000 EV chargers that were to be installed at all federal buildings nationwide. In 2022, Musk gave an astounding $5.7 billion in Tesla shares to various charities. Democrats like Minnesota’s manic Marxist Gov. Tim Walz are cheering the collapse of this stock’s value. Heinous.

Musk’s founding of the largest EV company in the world once made him a hero with those who pretended to care for the environment. Yet today he is seen by progressives as a greedy rich man who avoids paying his taxes.

Musk is trying to save other taxpayers money and restore transparency, accountability, and integrity to government. And many Democrats hate him for it. I can't decide if that's more bizarre, revolting, or terrifying. It does tell us a lot about the character of those who despise him.

Musk isn't just trying to take us to the moon or rescue astronauts from a space station, which he recently did, he wants to get us to other planets, as well. My suggestion might be sending all the wacko leftists to Mars, immediately rendering Earth far more pleasantly habitable. Besides, today's Democrat party is composed of people who could easily be mistaken for Martians, based on their total disconnect from most normal, productive citizens.

Musk, via his Starlink company, is connecting people in remote parts of the world to the Internet and various services that they heretofore have not had. He has at times given connection to Starlink to areas ravaged by war (Ukraine) or natural catastrophe (western North Carolina). Moreover, Musk is effectively ‘America’s tech support.’

As if all that isn't enough, Musk has essentially saved free speech in the United States of America with his purchase of X. There is no way to overstate the importance of that act. And “progressives” despise him.

Even this is not a complete list of what Elon Musk has done to advance society. For example, I haven’t mentioned Neuralink, which could one day help the blind to see, or The Boring Company. And “progressives” despise him.

An Ode to X? Yes, and an Ode to Musk.

To whom much is given, much is expected. Musk is an overachiever.

We all owe him a debt of gratitude. The Left owes him an apology. (And reparations.) Realistically, we will likely be on Mars before that happens.

 

 

Civil War? These, Too, Are Times That Try Men's Souls

 

Civil war is here. It has come to America. For the second time. This one is between those who respect history, tradition, reality, decency, dignity, excellence, and the truth…… and those who utterly despise all of these and instead worship sloth, destruction, entitlement…and themselves.

One group erects stores, buildings, and towers—and manufactures automobiles—the other loots, vandalizes, and burns them. Members of one group defend America and are willing to lay down their lives if necessary for liberty. The other group spits on them. One group believes in capitalism, the lone economic system that has lifted billions out of abject poverty and works hard to make the lives of their family—and their fellow citizens—richer and better. The other believes in leftist ideologies such as socialism, Marxism, and communism, social and economic systems that have historically led to deprivation, misery, and the death of hundreds of millions. One group believes in inalienable natural rights granted by the Creator, the other doesn’t believe in a Creator, and believes only in such limited rights as bestowed by those in government. One group believes that the two sexes are divinely created for their complimentarity and were mandated by God to go forth and multiply. The other believes there are an infinite number of sexes and genders, and that they have nothing whatsoever to do with procreation. One group is pro-life, the other pro-death. The former doesn’t believe in abortion or assisted suicide, the latter fervently believes in both, the better to spare the earth the burden of more human beings. One group believes in the First and Second Amendments, the other neither. One group believes in equal justice under the law, the other in a two-tiered justice system. One group believes in the rule of law, the other that the ends justify the means-- whatever the means may be. One group is actually committed to the continuation of a healthy democracy in the form of a representative republic, the other just purports to be. One group attempts to employ history, logic, and reason to persuade, the other uses lies, slander, libel, and profanity.

This is the last time we will have this choice. As Elon Musk says, if the latter group wins, we will have one-party rule by bureaucracy. Meaning tyranny. Permanently.

So it is time to pick your side. History cries for a result. Posterity breathlessly awaits.

Thomas Paine once noted, “'Tis surprising to see how rapidly a panic will sometimes run through a country.” That is certainly true today.

In The Crisis, written in December of 1776, Paine wrote: “THESE are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated.”

These, too, are times that try men’s souls. But let’s not panic. No more sunshine patriots here.
