John Kerry Thanks Iran For Releasing Kidnapped American Sailors

                 The images of the ten American sailors on their knees with their hands on their heads are disturbing. That Iran would pull a stunt like the detaining of two American vessels and its sailors the week before it is to be the recipient of $100 billion in American largess beggars description. It underscores how weak the Obama administration appears and how little respect it has around the world. This would not have happened if Reagan were president. Iran sent back the 52 hostages it had held for 444 days moments after he was sworn in. Even the “progressive” Teddy Roosevelt, were he president today, would be soundly beating Iran about with his big stick.

                Thomas Jefferson, founder of the Democratic Party, built the American navy from scratch. He was tired of the four Muslim nations of the Barbary Coast seizing our merchant vessels in international waters and enslaving our sailors. He sent these newly built warships across the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea to kick the Barbary Pirates’ collective ass. They did.

                The American naval personnel, 9 men and one woman, had their shoes, weapons and other possessions taken from them, and the female was put in a Muslim headscarf. Moreover, Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said that his forces’ coast-to-sea missiles were awaiting orders to hit the American aircraft carrier USS Truman, deployed in the Persian Gulf region. Ironically, if Truman was president, there would likely now be gaping holes in Iran’s coastal areas where those missile batteries supposedly were. (Not to worry, Ali, he wouldn’t have used nuclear weapons on you. Probably.).

                That would have been the proper response to the Rear Admiral, his bullshit threat and the Iranian leadership.

                Instead, American Secretary of State John Kerry actually thanked Iran for treating the sailors fairly and releasing them promptly, lauding its “quick and appropriate response!” (He apparently refrained from sending the Iranian leaders Pajamagrams and a Hallmark card).

                Mr. Jefferson, how we need you now. America- and her navy- need to be born again.

Obama To Achieve Victory In Surrender To Iran

                Iran’s President, Hassan Rouhani, has pledged to violate UN restrictions on his countries ballistic missile program. He stated that Iran is not in any way committed to these missile bans and is not planning to abide by any of the UN sanctions.

                Remarkably, it is actually written into the Nuclear Arms Accord with Iran that a violation of UN bans on Iran’s missile program will not impact the deal. What, then, is the deal?!

                The deal is simply codified abject surrender on the part of the United State and its allies. Fortunately, the soon-to-be-eight-year-long World Surrender Tour that has been the Obama Administration is almost over. Unfortunately, the damage already done is so extensive and the shift in demographics and political climate (there has been political climate change!) so vast, that it is unlikely that we will ever fully recover. There’s that fundamental change, again. That is why Rush Limbaugh didn’t want Obama to “succeed.” It never was anything personal. He, like myself, simply didn’t want this president to succeed in essentially destroying the nation as we knew it. He has.

                It isn’t as if Obama doesn’t know how to play hardball. He does so continuously with any domestic entity that doesn’t agree with him, pushing, threatening and mocking as needed. Incredibly, he has twisted the arms of enough Senators to get the votes needed to approve this “accord.”

                Yet, he wouldn’t dream of being indelicate to those who wish his country harm.

                No nation in history, let alone one with the stature of the United States of America (at least prior to the Obama presidency), has ever willingly negotiated a deal so obviously detrimental to itself and its allies, while the country it was negotiating with continued to openly admit it was bent on that nation’s destruction! Even now, post-accord, Iran refers to the U.S. as “the Great Satan,” and reaffirms its desire to wipe it- and Israel- off the face of the earth. This would be comedic if it wasn’t so tragic. (Anyone bringing a fictional movie script containing events like this to a Hollywood producer would be summarily dismissed as a crank, their script absurd and unbelievable to the masses).

                Iran has built a network of terror bases in Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Bolivia and has doubled its number of consulates and embassies in Latin America since 2005. The $150 billion windfall they will reap as a result of this “accord” will almost certainly lead to a significant escalation of anti-American operations throughout Latin America.

                The Monroe Doctrine stated that the United States would not tolerate interference from overseas nations in the Americas. It was practiced by virtually every president from Monroe through Reagan. The Obama Doctrine appears to be that the U.S. won’t interfere with any other nation’s attempts to harm it.

                Iran remains the primary state sponsor of terrorism around the globe. The U.S. is now the earth’s leading state sponsor of suicidal lunacy.

It is not hyperbole to state that the U.S., under Obama, has, in many ways, sowed the seeds of its own destruction.

In fairness, it must be said that Obama has been incredibly successful.

Days of Freedom Past

                The overt persecution of conservatives and their ideas continues unabated. Activists in Wisconsin attacking Scott Walker, the preposterous indictment of Texas governor Rick Perry, the attempts to ban conservative groups’ advertisements in several states, the IRS harrassment and many other leftist/progressive actions vividly illustrate their desire to stamp out the first amendment. There is, clearly, a deep and growing animus among the left towards the Constitution of the United States of America. In fact, under the spurious ruse of campaign-finance reform  Democrats are now pushing a ‘constitutional amendment’ that would give the congress the power to censor everything from books and movies to newspapers and television commercials!

                They propose to create a federal sensor to suppress criticism of the government, elected officials, and office seekers.  Is that chilling enough? Putin shouldn’t antagonize the U.S. at this juncture. It’s needless. We are becoming Russia. Wait a few more years, V.P., and we might just join you in complete intolerance of dissent and a desire to annex less powerful nations. (Maybe we can divvy up Poland).

                 Don’t believe it?  Rochester Institute of Technology professor Lawrence Torcello is on record as saying that we should “jail those who don’t believe in global warming.” Jail those who don’t believe. Should we jail those who don’t believe in the tooth fairy as well? Should we jail those who don’t believe in Christianity? Jail those who don’t believe that marriage should be between one man and one woman? Jail those who do?

                In fairness, it should be pointed out that this is not the most outlandish statement of leftist intolerance I’ve come across…even on the subject of global warming/cooling/climate change/ lack of change/ change in the rate of change/lack of change in the rate of change.  There is a professor- of “Systematic Musicology” no less- at the University of Graz in Austria who wrote that climate change “deniers” should be executed.

                Global warming is the biggest “science-based” fraud since eugenics. And if the Austrian professor of “Systematic Musicology” has his way, it will share at least one of its “remedies”.

                When the United States Constitution (that musty but fungible old ‘living document’ in statists eyes) and its Amendments/ Bill of Rights are destroyed, and the last 47 people on Earth who understand the  concept of Natural Law expire… global freedom expires with them.

                Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Cuba? The Axis of Evil.

                Switzerland, Sweden, Costa Rica, Ireland, Jordan? Nice countries all, but not going to foster and protect freedom around the globe.

                As radio host, author and commentator Dennis Prager has so astutely observed, the future of the world will be decided between three ideologies…secular humanism or progressive/leftist beliefs, Islam and Shariah, and (founding) “American” beliefs/values. In a tragic and almost indescribable irony, Americans are rapidly giving up (or are no longer being taught so don’t even recognize)  their own founding values. Leftists do not tolerate “American” values, but do, incredibly, tolerate Islamic beliefs that are virtually antithetical to their own ( the stoning of homosexuals, keeping women veiled and barefoot and pregnant, not allowing them to work or drive, etc.). And Islamist extremists don’t tolerate “American” or secular beliefs, and in fact will exterminate them whenever possible.

                Unless something changes, there is only one way this scenario can play out.

                Radical Islamists and Intolerant, hypocritical, politically-correct , brutal statist thugs will always win unless people who believe in real freedom are willing- always and forever- to be called every nasty name in the book,  to be shouted down and to be harassed and even jailed or killed.

                To sacrifice their lives, fortune and sacred honor.

Tehran, Iran – Speaking from a stage decorated with a banner proclaiming “America cannot do a damn thing,” Iran’s supreme leader on Wednesday asserted that the Obama administration had taken the option of military intervention to resolve conflicts off the table. “They have renounced the idea of any military actions” he said.

     This is from an article in the New York Times reprinted in Thursday’s Minneapolis Star & Tribune.

     Apparently so. We couldn’t even keep them from putting up that ‘damn’ banner. Perhaps we are in negotiations to see if they would be willing to take it down. Maybe we could release a few more insurgents from Gitmo.

     The article goes on to state that ‘the remarks by Khamenei…amounted to his first public reaction to President Obama’s commencement speech last week at the U.S. Military Academy in which he asserted that the United States has other ways of carrying out foreign policy besides military force. Having the best hammer, he said, does not mean that “every problem is a nail.” ‘

    I’m pretty sure that every other president in our history knew this as well. But that doesn’t mean you renounce the hammer or cut it out of your budget.

     And what a strange venue for Obama to make those remarks.

     I am picturing president Reagan addressing the Screen Actor’s Guild in Hollywood.

“There are other ways of entertaining people besides acting. Having the best role-players doesn’t mean we should never be ourselves.”
